Just did both my front windows so this was helpful, thanks for posting it. One tip, when trying to unclip the plastic bracket from the window I found it easier to reach behind the clip and pull it back while also pulling down on the bracket, particularly for the less exposed one. I
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I used it as a guide to change my right rear window regulator. It was quite easy really, plus it only cost me $90, compared to hundreds from a professional. I also pulled out all the window switches, and gave the contacts a good clean with a wire brush. The switch contacts were actually quite black! They're all good now. Cheers.
appreciate it mate just did the job myself and did it in about an hour Mechanics quoted me $340 to do it parts and labour, and because of this video i was able to do it myself for just over $100 (had to buy a set of those screwdrivers) love the Ford Territory community for helping everyone else out with their repairs
Had a local guy fix my window switch as they no longer worked, didn't realize he replaced it with a shitty eBay item because the print on it looked nothing like the stock ford item and the light died out on it after a month or so... then it played up when I'd start vehicle, window wouldn't wind up or down so I'd have to turn off then start car again for window to work 🤦🏾 and after a year, it's totally inoperable and now i hv to jam an actual rubber doorstop into my window to prevent it from falling down LOL. so now il order genuine parts and do it myself lol THANKS for video share
Thanks for posting this. Just did it myself quite easily. Though I have to go back in because I did something to the door lock thingy as it won't stay unlocked. Probably bent it or something. Should be easy fix.
95% 1 armed mime video of how to 👍...with no swearing lol, but watched your mini videos before hand also 😉 👍 here is the questions ... that is not answered ....why did the window work normal before ....4yrs ,but now tilts when you go to put it back up ? Is it a broken widow clip on the regulator or has something come loose ? Thanks for showing me how to go forward so I don't break anything because I know how to go about pull off the door skin now cheers . P.s one could self tapper screw in window regulator channels while window is down 1 inch high of BDC to act as a limit stop ? Or would that cause a fuse to trip ?
Hi guy;s , our 2004 ford territory seems to have an intermittent fault with F L/H electric window ,some times it works with switch on F L/H side , other times it only works with drivers side main switch and some times neither switch will get it to work ,haven;t taken door panel off as yet to check wiring or test switches and motor , did put a new switch on L/H side though ,could it be the main master switch ? do they have an earth wire on the motor ? thinking maybe a burnt out spot on the motor commutator ?help please if you can ,, thanks in advance
Looks like the bloody window stays up. LOL just had the back window fixed cause it wouldn't go up, now the front one wont go down. No wonder the company folded.
Hi again guy;s well im going to answer some of my own questions since the post below, window still going up an down , GREAT , took door panel off to check wiring etc , all nice an tight , couldn;t see an earth wire on motor ,one other thing i thought of ,when you turn ignition off it says in book you have around 20 seconds to adjust windows up or down before power is switched off to them ,just woundering if may be some thing to do with that feature [ component ] or we could have a worn ignition switch terminal , doubt it , we have had the crappy allow part behind the ignition switch replaced which makes the ign switch return ,$ 440.00 fitted, an after market product from a local mobile lock smith here in Hobart , and a new after market ignition barrel with transponder keys , all works ok but does seem alittle play in ign switch still. guess 13 y/o car will have play here and there though .well if i find the cause of it il;l post here eventually, il;l add a part number we used for ign barrel for this 2004 territory incase someone needs it ,NICE NIB 62T or S-BIN262T from costcutters.com.au VIC 3187, but they don;t show on their web site , you have to phone them,, BA falcon ones look the same but are they ,, don;t know ,, incase you click on link , they sell every thing including kitchen sink lol so look for Automotive when you get to their site.
Sorry Shane , I don't go online very often as you can tell. If I had to make an educated guess I would probably agree with you on your DC motor commutator theory ,due to it being so intermittent. I don't think it would be the delay on the ignition playing up or switches as it is only the one window and you loose control from both switches. Hope you were successful in your diagnoses.
Hi Linz , thats ok m8 i don;t get on here much either lol well since posting the problem the window is still working fine , strange one lol maybe i shouldn;t talk too soon , anyway thanks for reply back , il;l just keep fingers crossed , awll another prob that has popped up is the lower part of tail gate makes a weird noise when we press the button to open , the top glass is ok , did have a quick look seems like it has a selenoid which unlocks lower part and selenoid il;l call it vibrates , ever had that problem yet ???
You tested the motor incorrectly, that's why you probably thought it was faulty. Both terminals on the motor are positive, positive for up and the other terminal positive for down. The body of the motor is negative. When you tested you put the positive lead of the meter to one terminal and the negative to the other. You should have put the negative lead to earth. If you test put the positive lead on one motor contact and push switch for up, one of the terminals will indicate +12vdc, then do the same for the other by pushing switch for down.
Hi Grahame, thank you for your feedback. On my vehicle here, I was definitely getting 12Vdc between the plug conductors and selecting other direction on the switch was reversing the polarity of my reading. The new motor is still working well.
OMG! cool video thank you 😊 this is exactly what was wrong with mines. I'm not professional like you so I will take into mechanic shop hope it won't cost alot. 👍👍👍

Great tip!
One of the best how-to videos I've seen made better by no talking or swearing. Very comprehensive.
Very detailed video, thankyou

You are a good teacher. You should make a series of these and sell them.
😁 thank you.
Well done mate. Very very helpful. Thanks for your time.
Great video mate. Thankyou for putting in all the effort.
thanks Philip
Thanks for this video, I just did mine and this certainly helped because the parts come with no bloody instructions!!!!

Excellent video. Worked a treat. Thanks for your great instructions.
Thanks Mate, for the video. It seems quite doable .
Thanks mate, gotta do one myself shortly.
@10:26 they are very hard to remove, and to put on the new one too.
Thanks for posting this. Just did it myself quite easily. Though I have to go back in because I did something to the door lock thingy as it won't stay unlocked. Probably bent it or something. Should be easy fix.

No mate, that’s a new one for me.
