Love watching drop tests! But, I wouldn't carry my observations into inflight behavior. I did a few unintentional drop tests and the plane doesn't behave like that at all. And yes, I realize that you are doing hardware tests. Cool nevertheless!
I hope someone one day explores the idea of a torsion rod suspension on a taildragger. Lightweight, & out of the airstream. You could even have shocks mounted to bell cranks for dampening. Already been tried?

Wheels should have greased plates under them to allow the tyres to slide
