@@AnthonyGugliotta Yes, Anthony, you should! Darktable offers advanced features like non-destructive editing, full control over every detail, and more flexibility with masks and modules. It's a powerhouse for fine-grain edits, often surpassing Lightroom in precision and control. A comprehensive tutorial would greatly assist users in fully leveraging its capabilities.
Thank you for the great tutorial! I'm actually at the very beginning of my photography journey using Sony a3500 and Nex-3N and this tips really helped me to master my editing skills!
Hey Anthony! I recently found your channel and have found your content and info super helpful as I start my own content creator journey! What lenses could you recommend for vlog style shots?
Great tutorial 👌 I’m using the LR “web version” and not LrC - Video idea, what’s the difference and how would you edit the same photo in the web version
It has roughly the same functionality, but the interface is different. I might do a LR mobile edit in the future, but may consider a web version tutorial too!
I'm a complete novice to photo editing and I've recently started using Lightroom (not LrC - which this video is about). I find it quite frustrating that most videos on TH-cam advertised as 'Lr' are actually 'LrC' which is a different (albeit related) and more complex program. I know Adobe messed about with the names a few years ago for who knows what reason, but it would be helpful to noobs like me if you guys used the correct names.
@@AnthonyGugliotta I think just calling the video LrC and using the LrC logo would be a good start so I know to skip it for now and try to find Lr videos. No doubt there's a lot of crossover between the two, but when you're totally new to something, being able to see the exact same thing and follow along is much easier!
The original just needs some light editing. The edited version looks just pale. Mountains lost clarity and the the color of the sky (and sea) lost the fresh feeling due to the crazy shift to aquamarine. (looks green)
That's not the point of this video. Editing style is always going to be personal opinion. I chose a photo that would demonstrate all of Lightroom tools. It's ultimately up to each person to decide what tools to use and how.
@@AnthonyGugliotta Thats not what people trying to tell you, people try to explain that you overedited the photo, regardless of the tools, making a tutorial on photo editing need to be right on the context, and so it's not good information for beginners to over edit a photo that doesn't need much editing.
With all due respect, the photo looked much better before editing. It needed editing, of course. But after your edit, the photo lost its spatiality, its lightness, its character. You drowned the photo in yellow ‘sauce’.
If you're looking for this edit as a preset, try out "Frozen Rye" from my latest Lightroom preset pack! What Lightroom tool should I cover next?

I wish! Just got back from California, the Iceland portion of this video was recorded almost a year ago! 🙃
Gonna go out shooting soon and will definitely apply some of this to compare to how I edit. Even from someone more experienced, thanks for this!

Anything wide-angle. I like either a 15-35 or 16-35 for the most flexibility!

Lightroom is good for adding watermarks also.
Great editing tutorial👍
Yes! You can make an export preset that does it for you!
Is it the Lightroom free version?
No
Mobile version is less expensive

All of the same tools are there, but you are correct the interface is different. I might do edits using the other versions in the future.
