@@TheActMan There needed to be. Look at EP VII and VIII what happens when there is no world building and no political background. Nothing makes sense. There was no need for big politics in the OT because the Empire already was in power. George Lucas beautifully showed in the Prequels how abusing fear, anxiety, hate, tribalism and ignorance can lead to the rise of a dictator. The Prequels were not only the origin story of Vader, but also of the empire itself and Palpatine's brilliant rise to power. No matter how powerful you are as a Sith, you cannot take control of an entire galaxy with just force lightning. Palpatine crafted his plan and executed it over a span of 20 years, and incited a war just to take full control of the senate later on. He manipulated everyone. That's why there are so many politics in the Prequels. They are necessary to properly explain what happens and why it happens.
I'll defend Episode II as amazing until the grave but I will admit it lags a bit until Geonosis. From that point on it's non stop action! Besides that we only really got the speeder chase, Anakin vs Tusken Raiders, and Jango vs Obi-Wan. The movie absolutely needed politics to be discussed (they were essential to the story and the mystery of Count Dooku and Padme's assassins but I wish they figured out a way to do it with less talking and more action/showing. It would have made the movie much better paced and more fun to watch. Still love Attack of the Clones though. I honestly think it's fantastic, just not the best Star Wars movie ever (but it's still superior to the Last Jedi in almost every way)!
This is easily my favorite video of yours. I'd love to see more! Not just more Star Wars, but more behind the scenes vids like this for cancelled games! (Or just games that had a rough development)
He'll probably do one since Disney announced that they're going to do another Lego Star Wars with the all of the previous movies but the "waiting room" will probably be less of a cantina and more of a "city" like how Lego Marvel was.

Disney are doing their best to destroy every avenue of the Star Wars franchise and even though it's unintentional (one presumes) they're doing a nice job of it.
This is because of those abominations who never accept Prequels. I watch Prequels first and up to today ROTS is my best film and Empire Strike Back is worsr than The Last Jedi (all plot known before through EP3 make the film super boring, horrible CGI for the one who watch prequels first, and at least idk how plot in TLJ will be)
1313 was even more hyped up because we got a sneak peak of the setting in the final arc of the clone wars tv show. And then the show was cancelled along with lucas film and separate projects related to star wars.
George is a guy that works best when he has someone else helping and keeping him in check. Example: Revenge of The Sith is considered the best prequel movie and had Steven Spielberg helping out; then there is Empire Strikes back, which saw lots of people handling the film, George didn't even direct that movie.
George Lucas was very much a victim of his own success. He's a living legend and I can imagine that it was impossibly difficult to say no to even the most outlandish and unreasonable requests from the father of Star Wars. Very few, if any, had that ability to keep his more ridiculous ideas more grounded.
Try to get George back, but good luck with that because he doesn’t want to comeback. I saw a video the fans were really mad at George for how the prequels came out. Drove him away now fans are mad at Disney, I’m like you guys caused this.

I had the game informer some where Star Wars 1313 was the main article
Damn, that's a treasure!!
Knights of the Old Republic is still one of my favorite games of all time.
This is easily my favorite video of yours. I'd love to see more! Not just more Star Wars, but more behind the scenes vids like this for cancelled games! (Or just games that had a rough development)
I love how Act Man is practically a history teacher of vidogames.
The number of Star Wars references in this video is off the charts! Over twenty thousand!
Even Master Yoda doesn't make that many references
@@TheActMan No Jedi has.
THATS NOT TRUE. THATS IMPOSSIBLE
why is lego starwars the complete saga so awesome?
Wehraboo slayer yes!
It just is..
He'll probably do one since Disney announced that they're going to do another Lego Star Wars with the all of the previous movies but the "waiting room" will probably be less of a cantina and more of a "city" like how Lego Marvel was.
Made with love.
Because the Traveller's Tales developers clearly loved Star Wars and it shows
Big up for the many references!I enjoyed them :)
I always thought THE MANDALORIAN is Lucasfilm's attempt at redoing 1313 as a series.
Hopefully, they can pull their heads out of the sand and give the fans something fun.
THE MANDILORIAN is the one of the only good things disney has done with star wars
@@therunningranger4297 Yes...and how SAD is that? They are apparently even trying to bring Boba Fett into Season 2 if the rumors are true.
I LIKE the series well enough, but still wish we'd have gotten 1313 as well.

Act man: lets do a poll for a topic!
Call of duty ghosts: Wins the poll

best decision ever.
A surprise sure to be sure but a welcome one
This reminds of that on video. I think it was Did you know gaming, where despite fans wanting the Ninja Gaiden reboot be on the gamecube, Itagaki said Xbox it is then.
I would like to see the Call Of Duty Ghosts video.
LucasArts could save others from death but not himself...

"Whatever the case may be, I don't think there will ever be another game that vigorously dashed the hopes and dreams of gamers like this did."
P.T. Silent Hills
probably the biggest rival for a 1st place tbh .
I remember during the BF: Bad Company 2 days thinking how cool it'd be to have a DICE/EA Battlefront game. Basically a Battlefront 2 with the environmental destructibility from BC2, great audio, updated graphics and the cancelled BF3's ground to space battles. Shame that it didn't turn out like that...
Star Wars 1313 is rumored to be released in 2021, but is then canceled again
My disappointment: Hello there
WHATTT ????!! For real ?
@@hartleeroy197 no it's just a joke
Well star wars comics was at one point was going to continue 1313 but I believe ea and disney hit comics with a cease and desist but that was many months ago it's on TH-cam check it out....
Just wait for me to get old and die just to get Star Wars 1313 in 2021 before I die if you reading this i will die Rest In Peace Star Wars you were the best
General Kenobi!!!
rip LucasArts… killed by the true ingenious sith lord of all, Darth Mouse

Ave, true to Caesar.
Act Man I like the direction you took with this video. Most of your videos are your take on a video game, and those are entertaining. But in this video you didn't give your opinion, instead treating this as more of a history video. A good breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work!
Rip 1313, but i was actually really psyched for it to be about Boba Fett (my favorite character)
Is this some great content. Star Wars 1313 was one of the most painful game cancellations of all time, almost as bad as StarCraft ghost.
I remember seeing the Starcraft Ghost trailer and being super hyped for that. Damn shame...
I love Starcraft and Starcraft II, but hearing that Ghost was canceled was really painful for me, too.
1313 is up there with Prey 2 as a classic example of wasted potential.
And Tiberium. The Command and Conquer FPS.
Prey 2 was the first game I felt really hyped for back in the day. That shit was my wet dream but cyberpunk 2077 will scratch that itch for sure.
Also will you do more videos on Star Wars games eg: The Force Unleashed or Jedi Knight series?
Would love to do a Force Unleashed review! That sounds like a lot of fun.
@@TheActMan If you could also talk about the Jedi Knight games, that'd make the Chancellor a very happy man.
@@TheActMan thanks.

The Palpatine intro is so amazing! Moar plz
George Lucas selling Star Wars to Disney was one of the biggest mistakes in the history of entertainment to date
This mistake had such impact to the world as the tragedy of JFKs death. It changed the world for the worse… we could have had paradise haha
The cancellation of Silent Hills was the worst for me ..
Lucasarts: wanne produce starwars 1313
Disney: You want to go home and re-think your life
Also Disney: here, let me give the IP to EA of all people. They sure are -greedy- passionate ad me!
i just wish more companies could make star wars games, like imagine what a company like Rockstar could do
Imagine what any company besides EA could do!!
As long as it doesn't constantly tell me which way is forward
The Act Man Music to my ears Commander.
@@TheActMan ubisoft did a star wars event with for honor. it was amazing pissed me off we cant have a game with that and rainbow six siege mechanics mixed
You sure you want a Bethesda Star Wars game?
Revenge of the Sith was like art. Beautiful and works for good memes later on.
“It’s not a story any mouse would tell you”
Disney are doing their best to destroy every avenue of the Star Wars franchise and even though it's unintentional (one presumes) they're doing a nice job of it.
This is because of those abominations who never accept Prequels. I watch Prequels first and up to today ROTS is my best film and Empire Strike Back is worsr than The Last Jedi (all plot known before through EP3 make the film super boring, horrible CGI for the one who watch prequels first, and at least idk how plot in TLJ will be)
@@superspies32 I’m sorry esb is not worse than the tlj
@@superspies32 the fact that you just said ESB is worse than TLJ just shows me you aren’t really a Star Wars fan
You can see cool parts of Coruscant in Star Wars Bounty Hunter.
Badass game
WE NEED to figure out a way to cancel Disney's rule over Star Wars.
There is none. Except if Disney decides to sell the franchise to someone else, but that's quite unlikely...
@@BriFiConnections Not gonna happen. But good luck, tho.
Try to get George back, but good luck with that because he doesn’t want to comeback. I saw a video the fans were really mad at George for how the prequels came out. Drove him away now fans are mad at Disney, I’m like you guys caused this.
Never have I clicked on a video so fast in my life especially about my favorite game company thats gone rip lucasarts

I love his intro. Lmao
Sums up the video in the meme variety.
I was so hyped when the trailer for 1313 came out....it was god dare i say it...magical like star wars was making an amazing comeback and then...it was dropped so fast i was like...wait...what just happened...then i found out 150 people were laid off from the company who made it...i wish george lucus would come out of retirement...
I'm here again, after all these years, and still hurts.
When George Lucas was signing the “Disney pact” gives me Op: Barbarossa PTSD aka a “pact” with Hitler & Stalin.
So you mean it gives you Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact PTSD then?
Operation Barbarossa wasn'r a pact at all.
It was Hitlers plan to conquer Russia which didnt succeed as the russian winter was to extreme. Therefore their rush stopped at the line Wolga-Archangelsk
That kotor 2 soundtrack sneaking its way into the intro 😍
Imagine every time the act man makes a star wars reference it gets faster

I really hope the upcoming Lego Star Wars game breathes some new life into Star Wars games and will result in us getting a lot more (and better) Star Wars games next decade.

Disney bought star wars * emperor theme in background *
Reminder: They bought it only because George Lucas sold it.
Only because assholes like the so called fanbase took a huge shit on his movies... Now You have Disney and EA. Not Fox and LucasArts...
@Eye Patch Guy I love the prequels and the original trilogy. The sequel trilogy on the other hand visuals are good story is bad.
You bringing up the Space Shuttle Challenger made me tear up a little. ;_;
Dude I was so excited for 1313. Finally a gritty Stars Wars game that's not about the political and nobility of the universe. It was the right game at the wrong time 😔
