      ..... I guess we all know exactly what your point was then, huh? Not that you are a fan of Star Wars that you want to enjoy that with other people... But that you want to dictate your personal political fetishes on others in exchange for the privilege of enjoying something that you really don't have any say over.
      If your first and foremost worry about anything is whether or not it offends lgbtq or minorities, then you're not here for actual thing you're pretending to be here for. And that two and a half hour video looks like it might have been good, but now I'm not even going to bother.
      Sorry kiddo, you don't get to take this from the majority of people that enjoy it. That's not how this works. 😁

      @@Pigpen_YT funny, that's exactly the word I thought of when you started off a two and a half hour video by showing that you clearly aren't even here to discuss a shared hobby with fellow fans... And if that's the case, don't pretend like it's not. "Cope" is what someone does when they try to worm their way into something that other people enjoy and take it over as a platform for their own little political fetish.
      You're the one who went out of your way to make that little disclaimer at the beginning, kiddo. That's the difference between the people making actual videos about the actual thing, and you! 💎
      Imagine being so lame that you have to mix Star Wars and modern political activism....#cringe

      If your reaction to normal people liking Star Wars is a note at the beginning of a 2 and 1/2 hour video telling people that they don't agree with your politics they aren't allowed to watch it...sounds like cope.

    My man Jacen Solo should have had a spot in tier 3, as he was something else, especially after his fall. If you interrupted him while he was using battle meditation, you best believe you were dead when the battle was over. He killed Mara Jade, he attempted to burn the Kashyyyk world-forest, he tortured Luke's son, Ben, in an effort to turn the boy, he kidnapped and threatened to kill his own daughter when his gf wouldn't give him her fleet, used Anakin Solo as a bargaining chip to lure Tahiri Veila, and he operated on a weird philosophy of using the dark side but not being corrupted by it to justify the atrocities he committed. I cannot believe he wasn't there somewhere :(

    Your gaslighting soo hard with the sequels mann. Needed to be said. They’re unwatchable. I haven’t even finished the final movie. The whole plot was a slap in face and a insult to my intelligence. One of the worst imagined story’s put on film. Produced by big Disney with every resource imaginable. character assassinates Luke, Finn was forgotten, terrible lightsaber choreography, snoke, couldn’t even come up with their own villain!!! Grrrh. I could go on but I think I made my point. It’s bad.
    No it’s not because of Disney… it’s the decisions they’ve made at every turn. It’s like 343 with halo or EA with sports games. They’ve put themselves in the hole.. I would love for them to dig outta the hole and change the direction of these franchises (halo😭😭) but I’ve been watching for a few years and they digging deeper.
    Mace windu is coming back… that’s my final straw. Next thing anaikin/darth Vader survived the Death Star explosion. It’s disingenuous and shits on George’s original creation in much the same of the new lord of the rings show. Being a SJW movie doesn’t cut it. There needs to material. Sure in somebody’s world he somehow returns… in my Star Wars cannon reanimation or have the power/will to like like darth maul is purely dark side thing. Because that’s how George kinda described the dark side “working in mysterious ways type shit” Yes mace was versed in both light and dark.. but I don’t think he would suduce himself to the dark side for revenge. Don’t forget he was a true Jedi.
    And just gonna mention the book of boba fett.

    • @Marcara081
      @Marcara081 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Bingo. Those who claim to be offended are actually claiming to feel defensive, since offensiveness is subjective. So you have to wonder what this content creator feels so defensive about when it comes to criticizing the sequels. Only insecurity drives defensiveness. The second he makes it into arguments from ethics or virtue i.e. 'fandom menace are bad people' we know that the insecurity is based in his sense of virtue, since that's how he frames the context.
      Naturally it would be, since I guarantee that his sense of virtue is based on not setting standards for things i.e. no discriminating anything, since as a Leftist he believes the practice of setting boundaries for others is prejudicial. So the only virtue is to not have standards which discriminate, which can't serve as a foundation for virtue. Instead, it's just a process of nebulizing meaning (deconstruction) they engage over and over again until morals, ethics, and eventually language becomes meaningless. Case in point: defining 'woman'. What is the virtue of 'woman' if they can't set a standard for what a woman even is?
      Given that the Disney sequels pushed the ethics of 'traits as virtues', it Forces them (get it?) to interpret criticism of the films as a confrontation of their perspective on virtue. So why is it good i.e. virtuous that there is greater racial diversity in the cast? What is the virtue of being black? The value of being female? How does this add to the film? WE didn't make a big deal about it, THEY did. So why do they care so much?
      This is why if you criticize say, Finn's character enough they will eventually retort, 'You wouldn't even care about this so much if he were white!' And so we find the root of their allegiance to the Disney sequels: they view it as a film which thumbs its nose at 'white Western hegemony'. Which sounds like a stretch but it's a common talking point in Leftist circles.
      So they like the Disney films because they're a middle finger to 'white Western hegemony', which itself is represented by the Lucas films and their fandom. Hence they also hate Lucas and the Star Wars fandom he created, which finally explains their projection that the 'Fandom Menace is a hate group'. The Disney films hate the prior Star Wars fans and such Leftists love Disney for it. It's a political vector/statement to them, not a good film.
      Oh but I forgot, I'm supposed to be a drooling idiot because I hate Disney's propaganda movies. Clearly, I can't understand my opposition (which the midwits have no choice but to claim otherwise).

Still think it was a weak way to explain her death? Droids aren't going to understand that, my guy and truth is often stranger than fiction. People really need to be more aware of this condition. It's logical, it's realistic, and it explains Padme's demise pretty well when you look at HOW she ended up that way.
    What do I think? Why not both? Padme had her heart broken by Anakin's betrayal, she was injured by him, and she was pregnant on top of THAT, never mind being near-term at the time. One kid is rough on the female body. Imagine it with twins. No wonder she passed. Palpatine probably took whatever lifeforce was still left in her and sped up the process.

    • @Pigpen_YT
      @Pigpen_YT  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don’t like the acting, the CGI, the writing and a lot of the action. I think a lot of the lightsaber duels from the prequels are overrated. I like the ideas of the prequels and love the era. I just wish the writing and acting were a lot better. Also outside of Dooku and Palpatine, I don’t think the villains are all that great. Maul’s my second favorite SW character but only for his roles in Clone Wars and Rebels. I think he’s very boring in TPM. Grievous is cool in ROTS but he has far too little screen time.
      Meanwhile I love most of the characters from the ST, love most of the fights, writing and themes. Also think the CG is far more consistent and the villains are all great even if I’m still not super big on Palpatine coming back.
      Music from both trilogies are insanely good tho

    • @tritonk1759
      @tritonk1759 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Pigpen_YT Fair. I'll be honest, I adore everything about the Prequels. I think it's peak Star Wars. Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are my second and most favourite Star Wars films respectively. And I've only watched half of Season 1 of Clone Wars, so I'm not part of the 'the Prequels are made good by the Prequels' crowd. I think they're perfectly fine as is.
      The Sequel Trilogy meanwhile, a lot of its good aspects are for me overshadowed by its issues;
      . The Force Awakens is fine but it's objectively the most safe and generic thing they could've made. Starkiller Base is just a Death Star made out of a planet, the Resistance is just the Rebels again (with X-Wings again, Y-Wings again, A-Wings again etc), The First Order is just the Empire again but shinier and sleeker (with Stormtroopers again, TIE Fighters/Bombers again, AT-ATs again, AT-STs again etc)... Like come on some original stuff please. Also compared to the Original Trilogy and ESPECIALLY the Prequel Trilogy the world building is nonexistent (it sorta is throughout the entire Sequel Trilogy but ESPECIALLY here given The Force Awakens is set 30 years after Return of the Jedi SOME would've gone a long way), especially as I'm someone who just adores that stuff. It gets points for being the only film where Finn gets anywhere close to reaching his potential though.
      . The Last Jedi is my fourth favourite Star Wars film. It's a gorgeous, deep, thought provoking film that's brave as fuck and (major hottake) has my favourite performance from Hamill as Luke, and is hurt only by how it's kinda fucked as the middle chapter of a Trilogy.
      . You know my thoughts on Rise of Shitwalker already I think. 😂😂😂
      Also you mentioned the music, I think that the Sequel Trilogy music is kinda bland. The Original Trilogy's music is more iconic and the Prequel Trilogy's music is even more iconic than the Original Trilogy's stuff (to me anyway).

    • @Pigpen_YT
      @Pigpen_YT  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tritonk1759 I agree it needed more world building but thankfully novels, comics and shows will be giving us that in the future. As for ships mainly being the same I agree they should've done some different things (though I think the AT-M6 and FO TIE Bombers are fairly well designed and new. Same with the Bunkerbuster, Resistance bombers and Supremacy.)
      As for the music, I agree it's the weakest of the three trilogies but it still has some bangers. Rey's theme, Battle of Crait, The Jedi Steps and Finale, Ahch-To Island, The Spark, Anthem of Evil, Approaching the Throne and Farewell. I reccomend giving those tracks in particular a chance. They're really good

    • @tritonk1759

      I will say that Kylo's theme and the Resistance theme both slap. I also really like the Throne Room fight theme, mostly I will confess because that sequence is just amazing. Yes it's got problems but I don't really care it's just so big and spectacular.
      Also I'll agree on for example the Resistance Bombers. The Last Jedi also gave us the First Order Dreadnought and Gorilla-esque AT-ATs. Rian Johnson seemed to actually try to give us some new stuff.

    • @bullrun2772
      @bullrun2772 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tritonk1759 honestly tfa isn't that safe only thing safe is explaining the force and that's that lol. starkiller base is like the death star in one quality and that's that like its laser is far more powerful and destructive and can be split and go through hyperspace. the first order isn't really the empire since they don't control the galaxy and they ceterinatly are a type of imperial remnant even tho people don't like saying that for the first order when it is technically tho. the only thing they got as the empire is look and is a successor state but thats it. they more connected to the darkside/sith more than the empire in Ogrins. The resistance isn't like a carbon copy of the rebels because the rebels were fighting a power that controlled the whole galaxy. They also were just more of a fringe group. I would say there more original stuff in the movie especially with rey and the new force powers. Also, saying that starkiller base, first order, resistance makes this film not original and say that needed to is fine opinion but it's really unfair in way. Honestly there is enough worldbuilding there and we have the other worldbuilding from the other films so i would say thats a little unfair, I do wish we saw the new separatist's union. Like for example the first odrder and how there were some much foreshadowed especially to snokes death that's worldbuilding. some this just seems unfair

    • @TuesdaySFD
      @TuesdaySFD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They are literally objectively bad. Like, if you see what they were going for and what they achieved, it can easily be categorized as failure. You can say they’re good movies if you feel like seeing pretty colors flash before you and you’re not at all interested in the plot, but the story is objectively bad. The characters are objectively bad. The arcs are objectively bad.
      The prequels are also objectively flawed. I wouldn’t say they were bad because the aspects that compromise its quality are not as large as those in the sequels. The bad dialogue (and, while the romantic dialogue *can* be considered subjectively bad due to the possibility of someone actually being woo’d by the things Anakin says to Padme in the countless scenes, I think it’s safe to say that it’s bad without needing to preface it with the word “subjective”) is bad because a majority of people who hear it will consider it awful romantic dialogue. Obviously I’m not saying majority opinion dictates what is good or bad, but we’re talking about episode 2 romantic dialogue lol
      If you want me to clarify my position, here it is:
      The sequels have a ridiculous number of aspects about them that are objectively poor in quality relative to the writing we’ve come to expect from most competent writers and previous Star Wars writing. Relative to the other films (which obviously are not flawless, but don’t have nearly as many issues as the sequels such as inconsistent characters, plot contrivances, plot holes, etc.), the sequel movies are giga space AIDS. Much of what is shown in the sequel trilogy does not meet the level of quality expected from a Star Wars film. Enough of these objectively poor qualities will allow someone to claim that the product, put together, is objectively bad. A ship made out of bad materials is a bad ship, even if it does survive its maiden voyage. A story made out of bad writing and storytelling is a bad story. A movie with the intent to tell a good story but is made out of a bad story is a bad movie. All three of the Star Wars films are bad movies.
      People who criticize the extremely poor quality of the sequel movies are not hating it for no reason. There are things that can be pointed out. There are countless questions that can be asked that have no logical answer. People who worry about these smaller aspects are the people who loved the previous films because, upon inspection, they held up.
      This is why the prequels got so much shit when they came out. Sure, they’re nice movies, but relative to what the audience had come to expect from Star Wars, they had too many flaws. The fan base, while very upset, saw most of the issues as superficial and overall ignorable in the end. The SEQUELS, however, have issues that plague the entire story (e.g. senseless character actions, countless Chekov’s guns being primed without firing, etc. All things that are antithetical to good storytelling). Eventually, a line is crossed where something stops being a flawed product and becomes a total failure to be what it wanted to be.

    • @dn22pkkdd476
      @dn22pkkdd476 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Because the old EU continuity stretched on since 1978. In that time, thousands of writers, artists, editors, designers, creative heads, etc. came and went. Bringing their own new ideas, incomplete ideas, influences and ambitions to the series. There was just so much previous material, that it would be near impossible for a newer writer coming into the series to keep track of all of it, while still working on their other projects and trying to have some sort of personal/family life outside of work. And with "evil Luke" being such an intriguing idea, it's no wonder many writers would want to take a crack at it, not realizing that some 60 writers before them, someone already did through some Dark horse comic miniseries printed before they were born. And so it goes on.

    Really like your content man but I feel the whole “fandom menace” PSA is contributing to the false perception that the Star Wars community is overrun with “racists and sexists”. Yes, people on the internet are mean sometimes but from what I’ve observed it’s a tiny minority being blown out of proportion and used to strawman people who take issue with the direction the franchise has taken. Instead of addressing the real issues this section of the community has there is a tendency to accuse them of being racists. I think everyone needs to be less hostile and realize that “toxic” people are the minority on all sides of the community.

    I'm a legends fan myself. There are some canon things I like, but they're mostly things made by Favreau and/or Filoni, like the first two seasons of the Mandalorian for example. I personally hate the sequel trilogy, but don't let that stop you if you don't. I think one of the reasons people like me dislike canon is that Disney seemingly refuses to do anything with legends. It's clear they only made the distinction just so they could do whatever they wanted with the franchise. They're essentially alienating half the fanbase. In other words, they're wasting money. Think about it, do you know how much cash faithful film adaptations of legends content would make? You can still market the new stuff too, but everyone deserves to be happy. Heck, we don't even need movies (though they wouldn't hurt), just more content from that timeline. For example, a film trilogy depicting the Yuuhzon Vong war would be sick!

    Honestly I can somewhat get a religion following Jedi teaching like try to keep an open mind, attacks for defensive purposes, meditation, and if a person wants trying to live in a place with the bare minimum (A bed, a chair, and some books) so I can see the basic ideas in a religion but that's talking about the basic structure of the Jedi actually treating Star Wars as a religion seems weird to me

  • @buttsecksgoldilocks1191
    @buttsecksgoldilocks1191 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This might sound like me going "ackshually" but the goofy "He lost the Star Wars" line in the script wouldn't have made it into the final film in any capacity. Screenwriters often tend to make goofy comments or gestures in the script as a bit of an in-joke, for lack of a better term.
    One of my favorite examples of this comes from Vincent Ward's scrapped Alien 3 script (The infamous Wooden Planet one), which reads as follows:
    "ARCEON
    Dwindles into the darkness behind her, a smouldering, slowly dying ember...
    THE SCREEN GOES BLACK
    END CREDITS ROLL...
    Teenager in the back of the movie theater shouts,
    "It's in the dog!""
