    This is Moline Dan’s father, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching you getting the old MM combine ready, we had MM model 69 pull type, with a Wisconsin engine, it did a really good job, my father bought it brand new.

    Prairie gold 3 is more orange than 2. That lighter yellow is more like the mid to late 60’s to 70’s color.

    Hi Ross how are you .I been pretty busy as most days and trying to avoid most days like you working to avoid sadness on working on small to large projects that are suppose to be not long jobs that turn in to long jobs 😅😅.And yeah in the video that you said simetimes you feel like Your over whelmed with projects you need a break.I am like that to.Your old Combine is looking great.And yeah it's sometimes hard to get the original paint on some equipment I look and try to do a lot of research to try to match paint to.keep up the good work and I hope you can avoid sadness on your projects 😂😂.I go on the jungle store and the E-payer to when I need things to😂😂.You take care and talk at you when I can avoid work and more work 😂😂

    Saw your video of operation. I can only say that, years ago I fought with a JD pull type. Rather unsuccessful. You have a talent, and probably better materials. Like my Father always said," if at first you don't succeed, quit, and throw a fit! Then give up! How rewarding this must be! Moline was quite good.

    Knot free lumber is called "clear". Mostly used for interior door/window framing. Expensive

    "It's a low budget affair" says the guy who bought _brand new boards_ .. A 'real' farmer would scrounge slightly betterer boards than on the machine that accumulated in the back of a shed from old projects and salvaged wood, lol. .. That'll be a nice looking machine when you get all done. Hard to say on that paint color. On camera the yellow tongue looks more right than the orange stuff. Almost looking like Allis Chalmers Persian Orange. Did color maybe settle out in the can? Maybe that paint just fades fast so any used machines look more yellow.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🤣🤣🤣 I guess that’s true. Yeah I think the tongue is closer as well but I am no expert. The other color is supposed to be prairie gold number two

    That's the sign of a true cock-sure professional using only a tape measure and ink pen. I've heard if you lightly burn the boards with a torch/weed burner it would seal them before paint...I know too little too late. I'm sure Moline Dan would be happy with any extra paint you'd send him. 😂

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  ปีที่แล้ว

    The wheat should be getting close in your area. In our part of Ohio it's typically around the first to tenth of July...depending on the year and variety. It'll be interesting to see your machine at work. Hope the animal sounds don't drown out the tractor and combine lol!!!

    gee, just put a mark at 80 and a half, on both sides of the board, then, bend over and pick up a short piece from the ground, with a factory cut, and use that as your straight edge, or turn the tape upside down, so it will not flex when laid on the board,

    Great video. Will be a great time and a lot of fun cutting wheat with that combine. You need to get the local news to come out and see it in operation. We had a customer that had welded round plates on his 77-seat frame and on the seat pan. It was his swivel seat so he could turn and see his equipment better. Paint cost is outrageous. $2,000 a gallon for some automotive paints.
