Missed them by two months. They were about 3 hours from me. Fuck, they’re not touring in 2020, but there is a new album planned by 2021 according to Tobias with a subsequent tour. I’ll probably still see Rammstein here in the US in 2020, and I’m seeing Tool on Jan 15th. So it’s still gonna be a good year for music! But I can’t wait to see Ghost live! They’re #1 on my list RN!

I first heard of them in 2013 when they were on tour with Avenged Sevenfold but didn’t really pay attention to them. Then they released Meliora and instantly became my favorite band.
July 2019 for me. I bought a ticket to a ritual three days after that. Papa II remains my favorite, even if I wasn't around during his reign.
Papa Emeritus II mask was the dopest hands down

Quality-wise, Papa III was best but yeah Papa II looks more badass.
I did love the scary Papa BUT the Papa of "Cirice" was the best Papa of all, he was funny and had made mention of sex in a very jokingly funny way.

WOW so much hate? did people forget what metal sounded like back in the 70s and 60s? i mean not trying to get people pissed at me but not every metal band have to scream and do brutal fast riffs and fast solos :/ ghost is the one band that made me go wow because of how old school they sound i get that most people dont like them but does not mean the fans have to listen to people complaining about them.

I guess it's also due in part to their image not really matching the music. I really dig both, but when I first saw them, I was kinda expecting some sort of cross between black metal bands and King Diamond. Definitely not what I expected, but I love the music. In fact, now they're one of my favorite bands.

Sophiex Dark and also a nameless ghoul has said they wanted to put on a horror music show so I think that's also why they look creepy,that's why im glad they are going a darker route for the next album cause as much as I enjoyed meliora and papa emeritus 3 I want a scary papa emeritus again.

If you look at shows they play in the American south you can see they opt not to wear their white robes. It definitely wasn't intentional, though. Can't expect swedes to know all the little cultural connotations that come with certain clothes in america

Whoever is the Lead Vocals in Ghost (which I will refer to as MAN 1) sang the whole concert. Lights went out. MAN 1 went out. Man 2 came in dressed up as Papa Emeritus I and just stood in the back while the Nameless Ghouls played Genesis (an instrumental song). Giving enough time to MAN 1 to change into Papa Emeritus II and come out while MAN 2 is still on stage. Notice how badly adjusted is the mask of Papa Emeritus I on MAN 2's face. And, YES, PAPA EMERITUS wears a mask.

The only "metal hipsters" are the people that want to dissect and categorize metal into about 5,000 distinctly separate genres, as well as the ones that worry about what is and is not metal.

I've been saying this for years!!! The Live album is mixed amazingly! There is a few proshot full shows on TH-cam, sucks the quality isn't superb though but hey you work with what you got

Which is funny. The newest album had some of their darkest material, especially lyrically. It wasn't as overtly evil such as the early blatant satanic worship, and musically it lends itself to the catchy side of music rather than the gloomy stuff presented on the first two albums. However, prequelle still might be their darkest despite its face value.
The New ghost sounds like hard rock but not cool :/
So much hate on this band, I don't see why, they have talent, the vocals are new I love this new stuff, and before you all go off saying i am not a true metalhead, get over yourself, just because i am not headbanging 24/7..I listen to ALOT OF METAL, so a good change once in a while is good to do, then you go back to metal. smple as that, if you don't like Ghiost...guess what GO LISTEN TO SLAYER and enjoy your day :) sound good
There are two ways for some bands. More brutal and extreme sound, and this, soft but with lyrics with harder topics. I prefer Emeritus.
I am addicted to this band. They are just brilliant. The theatrics were sorely missing from rock and they are majestic. Long live the amazing Tobias Forge and other talented members of Ghost.
I wonder if they will ever release the Papa II debut show in its entirety.

Of course. But it would be nice to see Papa I's last songs (Con Clavi, Elizabeth, Satan Prayer, Prime Mover, Here Comes The Sun, Stand by Him & Death Knell), considering the cameras were at this show, and some cameramen could be seen by the barricade when Papa I played as well his successor.
New album is going to be just mind-blowing. I can't wait.

I always chuckle when I watch a live ghost video from Meliora 2016 and older and one of the Ghouls has a face itch and they scratch or rub the mask. Must be frustrating to have an itch you can’t scratch. 😂
I refuse to watch or listen to any Ghost beyond Martin’s (Omega) departure. I just feel that lineup was by far the best version of Ghost. Musically and theatrically.

This what meant to be a spectacle, just like they do communion at shows or confessions. The vocals on each record sound different but it's clearly the same vocalist. I think a lot of people get easily caught up in the theatrics, but I suppose that's the point and what makes it so fun.

Okay now, this seems to be the older form of GHOST, meaning that Tobias, Martin, and the guys are NOT quite pros yet as they soon will be. BUT, Omega (AKA Martin Persner) is with Tobias in this original rendition of Ghost, and I must say that Martin SHOULD be a member of Ghost again SOON. He IS a great musician without Tobias BUT Ghost NEEDS Martin to join AGAIN, so Tobias NEEDS to swallow his pride and BEG Martin to rejoin Ghost again. I've had some booze tonight BUT it is best that Tobias get Martin to rejoin Ghost.
Tobias needs to get ALL old ghouls back and ditch the scabs.

PAPA 11 is my favorite Ghost period. His look, attitude and the music speaks to me. It's cool that I bought this CD (remember those?) early and got the liner notes signed by Papa II and all the Ghouls. I did a ton of fan art of Papa II
