I have a question, what are you doing würge the excess? Do you throw it away or melt it to make a new piece ? Because you always use new soap? ♥️🤔✨
I put the excess soap into the plastic mesh bag , and use it for washing or use as fragrance .
It's pretty normal to use new soap.

I put it into a plastic mesh bag ,and use it for washing or as fragrance.

The carving knife blade is very thin.It's better to use the carving knife than other craft knives.

But carved soaps are usually used as room decor or gifts for friends or family in Japan.
Some soap carvers sell their carved soaps that are very decorative.

How soft should the soap be to do most of these carvings? Pretty soft?
as soft as possible. If the soap is hard , I apply a litter water to the soap and warm up it in a microwave for a few seconds.
