Only Eddie would turn up to a track for the first time and ask what the track record is 😅😅
lmao I seem to remember he did get a world record on his first day trying crossfit
That definitely gives you an idea of his competitive nature and why he has had the success he has had. I'm not saying he thought he could beat it, but always wants to know where he stands and how hard to push himself!
@Tarik St Patrick new to him.
@Tarik St Patrick what do you think I meant Tarik
😂he’s an over confident beast
This video made me think that we need to see strongman go-kart racing with Eddie, Brian, Robert and Nick.
That dude would look like Donkey Kong on a go cart😂
Eddie gonna look like Donkey Kong at Nintendo 64 Mario kart LOL 🤣
I´d pay for that!
I had no idea that Eddie was a bike guy
I have even more respect for him now than before
150hp on bike is still NO JOKE. Even 100hp on a bike is no joke.
It’s alright, most sports bikes have that..
@@claeslind9532 4 cylinder yea...2 usually top around 80..depending on cc
I have 260hp on my ride, but my ride is a 4000lb truck. I can't imagine that level of power in a bike unless it involves my organs being scattered across the highway.
My cb550 makes around 50 horsepower and even that feels pretty fast.
@Claes Lind most super sports do like a 600 and 1000, but 300s 400s, 650s are below 70, I wouldn't want to have a bike that has anything less than 100hp it isn't enough for me.
I think if you’d had a session with an instructor first you’d have been much faster. All about body position and hanging off the bike - keeping the bike as upright as possible whilst carrying maximum corner speed. Yes upgrading the suspension would help but a top quality rider can go quickly on any bike. Would love to see you have another go in future!
He definitely needs a stiffer suspension. With his weight he’s probably bottoming out really fast. I’d recommend he go to Dave Moss or ask a reputable company to suggest a spring for his weight.
I think you're always going to be very limited when you put a 164kg man on a Hayabusa on road tyres.
@@Moto848 no doubt lol
Have you seen the size of Eddie, I don’t think hanging off the bike is an option
@@garybuck5032 actually, he might even have an advantage with his weight and strength. Since he's so much heavier, his body position will have a much greater impact on the lean angle of the bike. Also there'll be more pressure on the tyres around the corners due to his weight, giving him better grip. Sounds counter-intuitive, but being heavy on a motorbike can be a good thing
Getting near 2 minutes is absolutely incredible.
And then together with your dad. He being on a bike too. I mean who can say that? That is absolutely a highlight in your life if anything.
Eddie first time on track: "What's the track record?" 😂
It was 499kg
Love your dads quote, “I did a lap of donnington in an ambulance” not many people can honestly say that!
Seeing this guy man handle one of the heaviest sport style bikes like it’s a bicycle is pure awesomeness. Would love to see more of this type of content on track and with motorcycles!!!
That was a lot of fun to watch. God bless you and your Dad. Happy New Year.
To set up a busa for the track you could shorten the swingarm, raise the rearsets, install stiff springs, and firm up the dampers. Riding as fast as possible is not always the best way to learn either, because like with learning anything doing it slower teaches better muscle memory and reflexes.
And get skill.
I clicked on this video and the sheer size of Eddie made my screen crack.
A hayabusa might be the worst track bike ever lol but good on u eddie
The wheel base sucks for the track, plus the weight isn’t great either, I know that and I haven’t even touched a busa. But when you’re 350+ lbs and you want a fast bike… I think an R1 would just flat give up 😂 plus he’s out there having fun, even seen Harley guys out on track lmao
@@gibsonchitwood6864 yeye not hating on eddie at all, not like he would give a **** either so lol. I'm just saying that bike is cumbersome as fuuuuuuuuu**
You act like his ass won't make the tires grip like a mf lol
@@jamestodd8548 ye fair enough but he still can't lean on that bike plus it's heavy, but his time seems to je quite impressive honestly
@@hugolundinlundin8033 He just has to turn his head and the bike will turn with him, easy
So good to see the relationship that you have with your dad. Well done on the bike as well. Stay safe and take care.
How nice is it to ride the track with your dad, well done!
Love seeing you getting these memories with your dad, Eddie. Cherish them. Don’t take them for granted. This is something you’ll both be talking about for ages.
Happy New Year Beast! Wishing you and yours a great 2023 👍
I really really would like to see you, Brian, Obie and Nick trying this out together I reckon it would either be spectacular or compete carnage 😅😅😅😅
Brian on a bike would be a sight to see😂
Thanks for all of the great entertainment your a good guy keep up with the great work 💪👍
That's was epic brother making memories with the ol boy can't beat it fantastic content eddie
Some serious guys out there, with tire warmers and all and Eddy is here to beat them all, great respect for this man's attitude and shamelessness (confidence is a better word I guess).
As an avid bike fan, this was a treat. If you can, perhaps try rent a bit of personal track time if you can, with only yourself and an instructor, or even better a pro rider, that would be willing to teach you and ride with you to show you the lines etc. Keep safe and great bike.
California Superbike School holds courses at Donington. They seem to be well worth the money. There are a few TH-cam videos from their level 1 and 2 courses.
Looks to be great fun and very worth while.
Your old man is so typical British Dad 🤣 love it! Reminds me of my own Dad so much, straight to the point, no messing about, stern as a rock 😁👍🏾🤣
I am honestly impressed, at his complete lack of fear cornering upright like that, and what a time improvement, on 3 runs?! I'm pretty sure that track is far more oval now than it's ever been :D
First time on track I’d say AWSOME 🏁✊🏻
Great episode Eddie
Looks like you need the compression on your front forks tightened up ! It’s diving hard unfortunately with your weight ! I had the same problem on my bike starting off with my fat ass on it😂
And for you to be out having fun with your old man is just awesome 👏
@@irfuel well obviously that too
tighter springs too..
Start with preload, then fine tune the compression, rebound and springs from there
No coach, just more horsepower
Quality Dad & Son time... A day well spent.
Absolutely awesome to watch! We definitely need more bike content Eddie!
love the way he put his Helmet on.. 😂😂😂 classic.. Great this. 👍🏻 enjoyed watching it
Its not all about horsepower on a track. 600s are better than 1000s sometimes depending on the track size. Just gotta ride your bike more and get comfortable and confident with cornering.
Smaller cc bikes corner faster
That depends a lot on who is on it. 1000s are much less bothered if you choose the wrong gear or get a line wrong because you have all that extra throttle to get it going and when you weigh a lot that makes even more difference.
A very skilled whippet can get a 600 to go well on certain circuits but most of the time if there is an advantage to be had the larger bike will have it. The difference of 10-20kg in the bike makes a lot less difference to 400kg overall than it does to 250kg overall.
The problem here is he took a busa on track. I love my busa but its really not a track bike. Something like an S1000RR would have done a whole lot better. I can't see an R6 or similar beating a superbike around that track with that rider.
@@siraff4461 that’s a statement of a man that doesn’t truly believe what he’s saying, a man that knows deep down 600s are superior 👊🏻
Definitely, my ZZR600 was much better and faster on the track than the ZX10
@Steve
The ZZR 600 Is a sports tourer..
No way would it be faster than a ZX10r.
It's got half the power.
Now if you'd of said ZX6r, you may have a point depending on who's riding it.
Such a parent moment you have to love it even the way he starts shaking his head without saying anything ❤4:50
You did well Eddie ,it's a fast track and for your first time there is a lot going on ,it's a massive learning curve .
It's good that you have brad by your side aswell, nice guy, top bloke. When I was younger like 8yr old, I had the opportunity to go to Donnington and I met brad and sat on his bike, hes a very talented rider.
Make this a new series PLEASE! 🎉
Nothing beats track day. The skills you learn from the track directly improve your riding on the streets
Eddy good effort mate, top tip for your next track day keep the bike well hydrated with top quality fuel like shell v power or Tesco 99 that way your shave another 5 seconds off your lap time 😂
Are you joking 😂
Cranberry oil
Riding with your dad, best memories ever.
Keep safe for many more 👍
15 seconds is a huge improvement
That’s what my wife told me …
That's all you need if she is doing it right
That was pretty cool to watch man! Never thought I'd see a strongman get on a track and really rip it. Going almost 20 secs faster in 3 sessions is really an amazing feat so we'll done mate! Totally agree that if you're serious about going faster, suspension mods tailored to you as well as taking a class with some pros will definitely drop those times down even more. Looking forward to more of these!
Happy new year everyone
Happy new year
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year
I love when grandfather Hall comes on! Nice to see Eddie spends us much family time together
Silvain Guintolli did some laps on it as well. He had difficulties getting it stopped against a S1000RR.
Good choice to go with No Limits. Absolute stunning trackdays with them. They do free instruction as well. Highly reccomend that.
This is how it starts!.... gonna get hooked! Say goodbye to your savings
Awesome man! Good stuff!
Absolutely awesome to watch! We definitely need more bike content Eddie
I see Levi Day (BSB rider) in the background at 12:20 .. Levi (a good mate) had a huge crash this week with multiple injuries, HE'S A TOP MAN, really hope he gets well soon. Lovely insightful video there Eddie
Love how Eddie is just sitting on the bike, not moving at all, like he is glued to the seat :D
Not even moving his knee or only his torso in corners^^
Powerlifters are often stuck in patterns and lose movement options
Happy new year Eddie. Looks like you both had fun and no ambulance lap so good day out. Also I get the impression your dad's been riding since before he had you. He just has that 'lifelong biker' look. Still, good on you for sharing your day with us
Well done Eddie, fantastic video with your dad, looked like you both had a great time
Eddie you should have got your Dad to do the timing. You would have beaten the track record by one second! Well it works for other people..... 😉
I see what you did there 😂
If you wanna have fun on a track eddie you should look into getting a gsxr1000 a hayabusa is for drag racing
When you’re his size, a smaller, more nimble bike isn’t gonna do much.
Nice One Big Man, Glad you enjoyed it ! Bikes are Good Fun... :)
Feel sorry for that bike having to carry that weight track time would suffer. Not many parents feel that supportive of their sons or daughter riding.
Never understood why parents don’t support motorcycling even if it’s safe
somebody literally crashed into me the other day totalled my bike destroyed my leg needed surgery and probably not gonna be able to walk again for awhile so I appreciate you cheering me up this is a good video glad to see even at your size you can prove anyone can do it thank you you legend❤️💯
A few years ago I was about 30 seconds faster than Eddie round this track (ZX10R), but apparently I’m only half as strong as him! Recently took part in the Everbuild Challenge lifting the 15kg metal pipe out in front with straight arms for as long as you can. I managed a respectable 1 min 22 secs (nearly killed me but won a tee shirt!). Eddie holds the record with a whopping 2 mins 15 or something. I guess we’re built a bit different, but just goes to show, ya gotta have a bloody good go at whatever comes your way…and give it 100% every time!
Well done Eddie!
I loved this video. I did a Ron Haslam raceschool day with my Dad back in 2006 on a Honda CBR600RR.
I’ll remember that day for the rest of my life…great memories.
good shit gentlemen, regardless of what your time was to drop 15 seconds in 3 laps is amazing Eddie, great job
Fair play for having a go. I was entertained. 👍
Nice mate. Good to spend time with the old man.
Lovely times.
YAY THE BEARD IS BACK!!! i got a lot of respect for you being able to do this...just watching you go around the track from the GoPro view is just about giving me a panic attack
He filmed it months ago.
That was fantastic seeing you an you're dad blasting round Donnington, great video mate.
Well done big fella....the smile on your dads face..priceless
At last! Something I can kick Eddies arse at😀 Never knew he was a fellow biker and respect that he is. Now have a go at dirt biking…you’ll love it😂
Really looking forward to the 'Strongman tries ballet' and 'Strongman tries synchronised swimming' episodes.
i think you did amazing eddie well done , and HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Noooooooo... what have you done to that poor Busa dumping the dual pipes???... Hilarious, you make look that big boy look like a toy.;))) Enjoy the ride!
Nice video Eddie, great to see you and you're dad making memories, how about you and Max trying a bit of motocross.
BIG BRO, Love your Channels! I just Subscribed today after your video. Wish you lived in my country, the U.S.A.! I admire you for everything I could never be! THANK YOU, from the cold and snow in the State of Minnesota!
Bike journey with Dad. One of the greatest joys of life.
You and dad did great mate, was lovely to see you again too. Think you pair should have a go at some other tracks too. Great day by Powerslide 🤘🏻 does this now make you Worlds Fastest Strongman too?
Next time you go Eddie, take a Gsxr1000, you'll be in the 1.50 area in your first time out.
The busa isn't a track bike.
Only good for straight line speed.
Knowing when it's time to go home is the most important part of motorcycle riding, good man👌
Really enjoyed that Eddie. Good to see you have a great time with yer Dad! Oh and bang on about pork pie with English mustard…and maybe brown sauce 😂
Fair play for getting on the track Eddie, BUT to do it properly you need to make a bunch of changes.
Absolutely essential that you get sticker rubber for the track and put warmers on between sessions.
Check your PSI warm just after you have come in to see if you are keeping them up to temp or even need to drop the PSI a little.
Suspension setup MUST be done, for a guy of your size it's going to absolutely make the world of difference and keep you much safer.
Get yourself an airbag leather suit too, even if you have a small spill you can hurt yourself, especially the collar bone caused by where your helmet rim comes down and hits it during a crash. Dainese or Alpinestars are the gold standard for airbag race suits... You can get them custom too.
Body position changes, you aren't moving around on the bike at all, tuck in on the straight and hang off the bike on the corners, think about getting your head down by your right hand when taking a right and vice versa with your left turns.
Well done! Keep at it.
Congrats Ed, always good to try something new. Well done for so humbly acknowledging when you are out of your depth.
Hats of to the years you trained to become the world's strongest man. Its the same in any sport. Dedication, skill, and years of effort will help to yield the results.
Eddie is like that cool uncle we all have.
4:54
'I'm gonna turn off the traction control now'
'no, no, no, no'
😂😂😂😂
This seems more Eddie's style than competition eating. Would love to see Brian on a bike...all you'd see is a tire in the front and one in the back!!!
Glad you tried our sport out... hope you had fun
I can honestly say, this is the first time seeing a busa on a track. See them all day at the 1/4-1/8 mile drags.
Happy new year beast I love the videos with your pops 👍🏼💪🏽. Thanks for sharing as always mate 😁.
No one gonna talk about the 225bhp.....where'd you get print out from..a cornflake box? 😂 I love Eddie, and it's good to see him on a bike doing a trackday "not racing" but christ it was difficult to watch.
As a 11 stone ex busa rider. Well done pal! I enjoyed watching that
Eddie dont matter what bike you ride, youll always be a legend. Love you Eddie. Please be careful
Had no idea Eddie was a rider. I like him even more now.
Thats gotta be one of the best looking Busas ive seen!!
Awesome man and to do it with your dad that’s special, I’m still to do a track day but defo on the bucket list
Great first Trackday Eddie hopefully I’ll see you and the busa on a few trackdays this year 💪
Greetings to you and of course your Dad! Happy New Year too! Always brightening my day here in Mexico!
Non of us will ever be Rossi or Jonathan Rea. So the main thing is to enjoy it and bring yourself and the bike home in one piece. 👍👍
Great video! I'd love to see more Eddie + Hayabusa videos too. I personally don't think you should give up on the Hayabusa just yet, but should go to more track days and see what lines you can get with it. Thanks again and happy New Year!
Make more motorcycle videos please haha can’t wait to watch the Scottish roadtrip! I’m planning it myself from South Wales in the summer just got my full A😎
Great stuff, great effort. 👍👍👍 can't wait to see you out there with the bike dialed in!
Love how Eddie Handles a thousand cc motorbike like a bicycle 😊😊😊😊
Eddie trying bodybuilding and losing weight will definitely allow him to do more normal people stuff and lead towards an overall healthier retirement.
Keep it up sir, you are an inspiration 👍
I raced myself a bit after covid but it's taken a backseat due to leaving the forces. 9 seconds is a massive difference, i wouldn't be discouraged with that. form is a big part and makes a difference with corner speed. being a unit, it won't be easy to dance around the bike but it's all progression. it's like having a pb in lifting and beating it the set after. never undersell you're achievements.
a busa isn't ideal either! any typical track bike would help. upgraded suspension and all that jazz but mostly you'd shave 20 seconds just by improving your lines, breaking points etc. I'd love to see more of this and practice makes perfect! 1st time on track it's a solid effort. top tip would be tip toe on the rear sets when cornering. you won't drag your feet and get better pivotal movement of the knees.
That noise just gives me goosebumps 🥰
Always great to see new people getting their feet wet at the track! And speaking of feet, I know you’re like 20ft tall, but man pick those feet up, you don’t wanna get them trapped between the pegs and the tarmac
Thanks for sharing. Big love to you and your family.
Well done I love my track days, the comradery is amazing and it's the safest place to ride fast.Enjoy
Hey eddie doing what you love living life good on ya ...to me your a modern day Arnold ❤
I'm glad the beard is back In its full glory
