Originally thought to be an April Fools joke, it turns out that Capcom really did hide a one-hit-kills weapon in Mega Man X. That platform in Armored Armadillo's stage always did seem a little strange.
Unlike the later games, collecting the Hadoken is much more time consuming compared to the ability to obliterate the mandatory Reploid rematches and fortress bosses. Nevertheless this run is still faster than the first any% run ( tasvideos.org/... ) ever published.
Hetfield managed to improve the previous run ( tasvideos.org/... ) by 10 seconds, although the actual improvement is roughly 22.2 seconds, and most of it was lost because of the use of a more accurate emulator.

I forgot to add that I still think this speedrun is great. I loved the pixel perfect landing on the lift into the Storm Eagle fight!

You can HIT final sigma with the hadoken just by firing it from his hand as you would shooting him normally, it just only does 1 damage.

He died there on the Armored Armadillo since usually it takes a few tries just to get the annoying Hadouken Capsule to appear since even at full energy it still doesn't appear unless you retry the section a couple of times, which is what he did to spawn it and let's not forget that if one doesn't have full energy when one arrives at the Hadouken Capsule section it will not appear so yeah, intentional deaths there. XD ha ha ha

There should be a 99% no hadoken category for MMX. I just don't feel the hadoken adds much value to the speedrun, and actually makes the end of it really predictable.

Isn't it possible to do the Shotgun Ice Hadoken on the final boss? Or would that have somehow taken more time than fighting him with Rolling Shield?
