Something to clarify, the song here is not themed on Dead Space, SOI's vocalist confirmed that somewhere. I'm thinking it probably has to do with Halo, as their first two albums were based on Halo. One other thing I think is worth noting also, Shadow of Intent pre-dates Brand of Sacrifice, so if there's any connection, BOS was probably inspired by SOI.

First SOI listen for y'all, for me, been a longtime fan. I could say a lot about SOI, but I'll try to keep it brief. First things first, they're always heavy, but The Migrant is one of their gnarliest, at least so far, and Ben Duerr is one of my absolute favorite vocalists. His technique and his tone are both incredible, as are his breath control, and pretty much everything else. SOI always has an interesting theme, fantastic instrumentals and production, and fantastic vocals. Each album is a little something different. Melancholy would be my favorite, followed by Elegy, but they all slap. The Migrant is kind of a mix of their new and old sound.
This is my first time checking y'all out and I enjoyed your reaction and thoughts. If either of you have played halo that's why the band name sounds familiar. I've also seen them live and can confirm that the entire band is insanely talented.
Yall absolutely must check out their album Melancholy, one of THE best metal albums of all time imo, if you can't react to the whole album I recommend checking out Malediction from the album.
