Surely we had never seen and never will see again a louder crowd at a track and field meet. You had 87,000 people going ballistic for a hometown hero - simply sensational
A very inspiring race. Choge, just brilliant. Kudos to the winners. Great race from all the athletes. Certainly a race to remember. Great crowd support.
Top of the top running! Amazing how this tall man had such a style and endurance to run neck to neck with those great athletes from Kenya,I think he could run a 12:40 if the pace would be set at that ritm, the best
Becoming the best comes with talent obviuosly but a lot of bloody, bloody hard work. That takes time but perseverance. When you get knocked down you get up again and again and again until you get it right.
Crazy how far back Mo Farah was in this race...granted he was only 23 here but it's crazy to see how much better he got 4 or 5 years later...and beyond to this year!
It is very suspicious! And you can guarantee that the GB Authorities knew too.. but don't you think of putting a pin in the diversity bubble.. IT STINKS!
Wow what a race,,,our boy as short as he is,,zoomed passed Mottram,,who got confused as he was sure he had won the gold although he gave a very good run and won Silver,,,and golden boy was determined to win the race and like roller coaster running so fast,,he won😁😄😄😄😄😄
It's not correct that the first championship sub-13 5000m was 2003 at the World Champs. The 1999 edition also was won in sub-13 (by Salah Hissou, in all 4 runners went under 13 in that race).
It's the commonwealth games nobody had broke 13 before And Bekele ran a 12:57 Olympic record in 2008 Eluid Kipchoge ran a 12:51-3 at 2003 with El G and Bekele right behind him so 6-7 all time have gone sub 13 in a championship but this was the first time at commonwealth games
Im Champ And in the introduction it was stated that 2003 at the world champs it was the first time in a championship race. That's wrong. That's what I have said, nothing else.
distance88 I believe 2003 was because the Olympic record was like 13:05 and since this race was after 2003(2006) I believe 2003 was the first sub 13 championship race ever
@@elizabethevelyn9761 I was implying that I am a minority (non white) and we often win in running/athletics so it would be good to see a white person win this event for a change.
He didn't give up. He gave it his all. Craig was at a disadvantage with his extra weight. The lighter Kenyans tire less with the skinny bodies. Shows how talented Mottram was that he could match the best of them.
John Smith Keep in mind that running is also our mode of transport, we don’t run for championships only, we run to get to school and everywhere else . Give credit where credit is due.
John Smith I suppose if it were not a Kenyan with such talent we’d give them credit...What are your thoughts on Craig then, he was just a few seconds behind? Is he also on EPO or he’s a talent?

I agree with you. Amazing crowd cheering their guy
? X ❤😂
people just dont cheer like they used to in the past. Hard to go ham when you are holding a phone, miss the old sporting fan crowds.
I love the way the Kenyans showed respect for Mottram. That alone lets you know you're a great runner.
Yes, they showed Evan Jager the same kind of respect when he proved he could run with them. It's a wonderful thing to see.

Such an exciting race. Would have been great in the stadium

I still come here when I am bored😁😂😂😂this was a great run from the white man...Kenyans kudos
The best marathon ever!!!!!!
watching long races my country Kenya was always assured of 123 finish... then things changed, how could Farah peak after 25years? absurd
it was never the case
Commentary is the best😀
You have to have some serious balls to take the lead and surge with a 55 second lap with 1200 to go, what a freaking race
It was a mistake by the time measuring system, watch it again. Next lap wasn’t 64 as well.
Buster's mullet was fire.
He didnt know wat kenyan can do
Run you Great...

16:07 WTF Mottram dropped a 55 second lap with 2 more to go? Thats INSANE
Nah, someone messed up and split that lap way too early. It was more like a 61 second lap.
Lol I was thinking the same thing but I think it was about a 60 but they pulled away so much I wouldn't have really been surprised
Stupid
