    Had Sammies for years. Our last, beloved Ayla, crossed the Rainbow Bridge about 4 years ago.😭💔 But I am BOUND AND DETERMINED to get a new Sammie pupper ASAP! VERY EXPENSIVE, if you want one from a reputable breeder. Ayla was pedigree and a TRUE BARGAIN @ $400! But that was 16 years ago! A tad steeper now, starting around 2k and up! BUT SAMMIES ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY!! I LOVE HIM! SOOOOO CUUUUUTE! Samoyeds are the best doggo EVER! You have a new subscriber!

      Haha thanks! Sorry about Ayla ... the idea of losing Appa is my only regret in getting him, as the idea of losing him can make me bawl my eyes in no time. I wish you the best of look with your search! Hope you will send a picture once you get your pup!

      @@yipyip5668 if I'm lucky enough to get one, you can bet I'll send pictures as he or she grows. I think I want a female just because I can blow on their belly without having to worry about touching something my lips don't want to touch! 😂😂 Appa is ADORABLE! 🐾🐾

      Haha! Oddly, I completely understand what you mean XD. I'm sure you will get one, waiting is the most painful part though. . .

      @@yipyip5668 I would say waiting is a close second to the most painful part, because the most painful part is the 2K +that I need to get one! 🤣🤣

    My wife and I have the pleasure of welcoming a samoyed puppy into our household in just under a month, so obviously I've been going around and watching a lot of different videos, then came across your channel and it is such a joy! The wholesome editing is spot on, and I'm impressed how well behaved and well trained Appa seems. What were your experiences with him since day one? Did you consult with professional trainer and behavioral specialists? Thanks!

    • @yipyip5668
      @yipyip5668  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Appa was a vocal demanding little guy. We've researched a few months before his arrival on how to train a dog, mainly from Zak George TH-cam channel. Before we got him, my partner and I set boundaries on how to handle specific behavior and train wanted behavior so that Appa's training will be consistent. We did eventually go to 5 puppy classes so that he could learn to socialize and we could ask questions to the trainer. I believe what helped us the most is being consistent. And with Appa it has been an up and down graph. He could do amazing for a week, then 3 days straight as if he hasn't learned anything. But in the end, it was always a linear progression.
      At the moment our the only problem is his enthusiasm towards other dogs. He gets excited and starts whining and pulling trying to greet them. Which can be problematic if the dog is across the street. Same thing if someone just looks at him, he gets very excited and wants to say hello. and when he can't say hi, he sometimes barks, but mostly whins. Although, that is the only time he barks.
      Slow and steady wins the race! Good luck with your little pup! I wouldn't trade him for anything. They got so much personality and the first few weeks can be terrible, no sleep, biting, barking, potty accidents.. But it is absolutely worth it!

    Lovely! At what age did you start training / teaching the "stay at the door"-thingie? And can you recommend anywhere we could learn more about it? Getting our little samogirl in April :)

    • @yipyip5668
      @yipyip5668  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We started from day one. It is better for the dogs to have a routine and consistency. I followed Zak George's video on TH-cam link : th-cam.com/users/zakgeorge21 . Of course he didn't really go out by himself the first few weeks. Instead we carried him outside, as we didn't want him to pee in the hallway of our apartment building. But each dog is different and you will learn what works best for them and yourself
