I’m Loving this series. I listened to Z on audio and I didn’t think it was too bad. I know that’s not roaring recommendation but I kind of liked it too! Ha ha. I started The Girl in the Red Coat and DNF it. I could not get into at all. I never DNF a book! I listen to The Overdue Life of Amy Byler and love it! I really love the feel of books like that.

Ok, so you need to just do some sort of cleaning, organizing something as a monthly video because I find them so motivating! I've already incorporated your mom's set the timer process, so between the timer and your videos, I can get the whole house organized. Or you could just come to my house and do it for me. 😂

There is so much hype for Demon Copperhead right now. I never read David Copperfield either. I don't really have much interest in Demon Copperhead, but maybe once the hype dies down. We'll see.
I don’t have a Kristin Hannah stack, but I do have a copy of The Great Aline, and I feel the stack coming on. I think I have The Weight of Ink on my Kindle…if not, it’s The Weight of Feathers.
I really need to read a KH book. It's been a while. I think I have read one of her contemporary books and didn't like it as much as her historical ones. So we'll see if I end up keeping all of these.

Your process was interesting to me because I am still trying to understand the why behind people's libraries. (Please, please booktubers: do not all throw your books at me!) I can understand buying and keeping a copy of a book that you found outstanding and really want to own, but buying a library full of books (or even just several shelves) that may get read once at some point, or may never get read at all, fills me with wonder. Having said that, it was very interesting to see your thought process when it came to unhauling because once I do own a book, I find it very hard to give up on it. And with all that said, unhauling Hairpin was a terrific choice; that is a book that got the lowest rating I have ever given a book. I finished it only because I have a hard time giving up on a book; I just want to keep giving it a chance to redeem itself.
I hear ya. I do have a large library of unread books. But honestly almost all of them were super cheap from library sales, thrift stores, exchanged for store credit, Little free Libraries, gifted, etc. I have very few that I have paid full price for. I think it's fun to have a whole wall of books even though I know I won't possibly read them all. Ever reader is different and that's ok! I actually don't keep most of the books I read. The majority of books I own are unread. It's just how I like my library. No books thrown...

I'm surprised to see Under the Dome on your shelf. I know you recently purchased it. I'm not a Stephen King fan, have only read 11/22/63, Shawshank Redemption and Under the Dome. I really liked the first two but really disliked Under the Dome. I'll be surprised if you like it. I've only read Orphan Train by Pam Jenoff and really liked it and have The Lost Girls of Paris that I'm looking forward to. I was surprised to see you so easily part with her books. I know you have to be ruthless though when getting rid of anything when running out of space so good job!
Great job! It would be interesting at the end of this unhaul project to look at the books that you kept and the books that you unhauled to see if there are patterns. I'm doing this with my Goodreads and I definitely see patterns in the books I've given low stars and the ones I've given high stars. My Goodreads bookshelves are getting more and more specific to the kinds of books that I really enjoy reading. Some of them are categories I didn't know I like as much as I do.
I have already sold a bunch on Pango, and am not really that introspective about my books, but that would be interesting to see if there were any patterns.

I didn't care for The House at the End of the Moor. It had good things in it, but I prefer her "inspired by other books" stories. She's better at those I think. I'm curious to know what you think of Orphan Monster Spy. I have it. Mom thought it was "good." She's tough but "good" is 3-4 stars max." We'll see. Nervous about Poisonwood now. Challice is sure I'll love it. But it's a chunk if I don't!

Yes, these are my to read shelves. Here and there there's a book I've read because I try to keep authors together where I have a lot of their books. I know most of these were bought for super cheap, so I don't have too hard of a time getting rid of the ones that aren't interesting me right now.

It amazing how reading tastes change just the slightest bit from year to year. I did have hopes of reading those someday, but never ever reached for them.
'Dear Emma' could be an easy unhaul, it was just bland in my opinion. I did see you kept 'One Breath Away', 'The Things We Keep', & 'The Girl in the Red Coat', which I loved and think you will enjoy.
I will keep that in mind if I need to go back again like I did for Hairpin Bridge in this video. I don't feel particularly drawn to that one either. Glad to hear others that you loved.
huzzah for unhauling du Maurier. I had a copy of The Turtle Catcher and unhauled it as well. Georgette Heyer was the author some guy cussed me out for not knowing how to pronounce her last name. Some people are so pedantic. Cheater, cheater, taking that book from another shelf. LOL I've added four books to my library tbr! These videos are dangerous.

I don't think you'd care about Frenchman's Creek or MaryAnne. The King's General is set in the house that inspired Rebecca, so it has gothic vibes. I loved it, but don't think you would. I'm a huge Daphne du Maurier fan but for you, nope. Unhauling is a good choice.
I don’t think you would like The Edge of Ink. Its slow pacing has to do with the the pandemic of 17th century. It has to do with a rabbi and as a jew, I had high expectations but I had to give it 2 stars because it dragged.
Ok. Good to know. I may end up doing one more pass through once I finish all the shelves. I've been hearing about a few that I may just unhaul when done. We'll see.
Great job unhauling The Keeper of Lost Things. I don't think it would've been worth your time. In my humble opinion, it wasn't good. The premise sounded good, but the execution not so much.

I didn't care for The House at the End of the Moor. It had good things in it, but I prefer her "inspired by other books" stories. She's better at those I think.
I'm curious to know what you think of Orphan Monster Spy. I have it. Mom thought it was "good." She's tough but "good" is 3-4 stars max." We'll see.
Nervous about Poisonwood now. Challice is sure I'll love it. But it's a chunk if I don't!
I have moved that over to my Christian fiction shelf. This series is going to last forever. I just have too many shelves! haha. I dread going to my middle grade shelf eventually. Yikes. I know so many love Poisonwood Bible. I will be talking more about it in my August wrap up...which I need to film...one of these days! haha

I didn't think it was outstanding and you’re never going to read every book out there that some stranger on the internet thinks you might like. Yes, these are my to read shelves. Here and there there's a book I've read because I try to keep authors together where I have a lot of their books. I know most of these were bought for super cheap, so I don't have too hard of a time getting rid of the ones that aren't interesting me right now.

It amazing how reading tastes change just the slightest bit from year to year. I did have hopes of reading those someday, but never ever reached for them.
'Dear Emma' could be an easy unhaul, it was just bland in my opinion.
I did see you kept 'One Breath Away', 'The Things We Keep', & 'The Girl in the Red Coat', which I loved and think you will enjoy.
I will keep that in mind if I need to go back again like I did for Hairpin Bridge in this video. I don't feel particularly drawn to that one either. Glad to hear others that you loved.
huzzah for unhauling du Maurier. I had a copy of The Turtle Catcher and unhauled it as well. Georgette Heyer was the author some guy cussed me out for not knowing how to pronounce her last name. Some people are so pedantic. Cheater, cheater, taking that book from another shelf. LOL I've added four books to my library tbr! These videos are dangerous.
People get upset about the silliest things sometimes. I am allowed to go back to shelves I've already done if I can't find 5 from the current shelf. I explain that! haha. My project, my rules! :) Glad you found a few that look interesting.

I don't think you'd care about Frenchman's Creek or MaryAnne. The King's General is set in the house that inspired Rebecca, so it has gothic vibes. I loved it, but don't think you would. I'm a huge Daphne du Maurier fan but for you, nope. Unhauling is a good choice.

I liked Orphan Train ok and still have Lost Girls of Paris that I'd like to read. But this other stack never called out to me to read.
I don’t think you would like The Edge of Ink. Its slow pacing has to do with the the pandemic of 17th century. It has to do with a rabbi and as a jew, I had high expectations but I had to give it 2 stars because it dragged.
Ok. Good to know. I may end up doing one more pass through once I finish all the shelves. I've been hearing about a few that I may just unhaul when done. We'll see.
Great job unhauling The Keeper of Lost Things. I don't think it would've been worth your time. In my humble opinion, it wasn't good. The premise sounded good, but the execution not so much.
