I really need to go through mine. Of course I stopped by The Dollar Tree yesterday and found a few books 🤦♀️, but $1.25 is better than full or sale price. Had breakfast with a friend's and Books A Million is right there. Only picked up bargain books at my kind of prices, plus I found Out Of Print book socks on sale for $5 each, a bookmark I've been looking everywhere for and a library card coffee cup. So I really need to get on my shelf and get some more books off of it! Way to go Krista! 💜
I hear of people having good luck at the Dollar Tree, but I never have. Bummer. I have never been in a BooksAMillion either! Crazy. Get some books off that shelf, friend! You can do it.

Great job! Imo One by one by Ruth Ware is her worst that I have read although I enjoyed The turn of the key which I feel is one of her best. Thanks for sharing.

that was some unhaul, good for you. Since you don't like Ruth Ware, I wouldn't keep One by One, it is something like Then there were None, just a different setting. I like her books, but that one was just okay to me. I did like the Turn of the Key, so if you want to try that one, then keep it, it had a surprise ending.
I have moved One By One to the unhaul pile. Thanks for your input.
I read My Name is Mary Sutter a couple of years back. Thought it was quite good, a 4 star read for me! My husband has read the Tom Rob Smith books - he liked them but said they were VERY intense.
I have had Mary Sutter on my shelves for SO long. If I do 12 books to read next year that will be in the stack for sure. Interesting to hear about the TRS books.

I liked saint x, a slow burn atmospheric mystery.
I think I'll try to read Turn of the Key in October.

ohhhhh - i hated to see you get rid of the 3 Susan Elia MacNeal books - it's such a good series! The Forgotten Seamstress was very good too, I've enjoyed Liz Trenow. This must feel good to clean those shelves .. good for you! Jacqueline
I know many people love the series by MacNeal, but I just never would reach for them. Maybe I should have kept the first one. Oh well. I can get them from the library if I ever get the urge.

Did you have two copies of the Oracle of Stamboul? I thought I just saw it in one of the previous videos. Child 44 was a library basement sale buy for me and I read it in March for March Mystery Madness. It was decent. I was not aware of those other books of his. Congratulations on the great unhaul.
I just have one, but because of the alphabetizing things got moved around a bit. I am curious to try one of those Tom Robb Smith books.

It is a good habit to do once or twice a year. Priorities change and books add up. I like being excited now for what's left on the shelves.
I love watching you do this but I am not yet ready to do this to my shelves, although I need to. It is hard parting with books. When you got to Celeste Ng I was like you can get rid of that, I DNFed that book. I am undecided on The Chain, I have that book too and it sounds interesting but I just have not yet read it. I was sad to see you part with Liane Moriarty as I have read 3 of her books and loved each one. I have the book The Editor and I don't know how I feel about that one. I am A Ruth Ware fan so I was happy to see you keep a couple of her books, I think you are going to love Turn of The Key that is my favorite book by her. I have her newest release to read (Zero Days) and then I will be back to where I have read all of her books. I am trying to plan how I am going to do my book organization in December when I have a week off from work, so maybe then I will be ready to declutter and get rid of some books.
I love finding those authors where you want to read all their books. I liked one Ruth Ware (Mrs. Westaway) and really didn't like another (Cabin 10). So we'll see what I think about these ones. It does feel good to lose a few books. Makes me more excited about the ones that are still here.
I will be posting a review of liane Moriarty The Last Anniversary this weekend which I loved but I can appreciate unhauling her as she is generally hit or miss- but big little lies is one of my all time favorites! I have Dry on my tbr someday stack if you want to buddy read whenever you do get to it let me know. Good job!!
I did keep The Husband's Secret because of the ones I hadn't read yet that's the one I'm most interested in reading. I put a postit on Dry so I remember to connect with you whenever I decide to read it! haha.
I think your call about The Editor was a good one-I've read several of his books that I loved but this one just didn't do it for me. I doesn't strike me as a Krista book.

Wow! So successful! Unfortunately I can't help much since I am unfamiliar with almost all the books on your shelves. The two Ruth Ware books are the only Ruth Ware books I've read but I've not seen you read many thrillers so I don't know your taste. I thought they were pretty good but I don’t read many thrillers. I’m curious to see you move on in The Seven Sisters series since I'm on the fence about continuing.

I am hoping to read one of the Ruth Ware books in October. The other I've already added to my unhaul pile after reading some comments about it. I'd love to keep reading the 7 Sisters series. It's been too long.
Are you planning on doing a Little Free Library donation video with the books or do you donate them to thrift stores?
I have a process. First I post them for sale on Pango. Then after a few months I will take them to a used bookstore for credit. Then what doesn't get taken (plus a few others that go into my car) I put in Little Free Libraries. I probably won't show all that in a video.

Year one by nora roberts was a good unhaul choice. I think it deals with a plague and is descriptive when the person gets it. Don't think you would have liked it. I never finished it.
Yikes. It was recommended to me the first year I asked for subscriber recommendations but didn't qualify to pick from my shelves. I'm glad to hear more about that one. Glad I passed it on.
Thank you, by the way, for my books I ordered from you! I did an unhaul of approx 40 or so books recently, and my local bookstore did their "buy 10, get 10 free" so I felt it was time to unhaul some lol. (Keep cleaning, I'll keep buying lol)

Ellie and the Harpmaker had some great things about it but there were other things I didn't like.
I'm so bummed that Lady Sherlock went blech. IT was SO good at first. And the mysteries ARE great.
To Have and to Hoax was way too spicy for me. I really was upset because it could've been great. Sigh.
Score! I got rid of tons in February but you're making me want to look through mine to see if I have any I can part with anyway!
Oh man. I had heard that the language isn't great. We'll see what I think...someday. At least I'll go into it prepared. I'm not sure you'll like Louise Penny books. There is some language in her books too. It is so motivating to clear out books that aren't top priority. Do it!
Ok. I must be the odd one out! Me? I dont keep books ive read, other than a select few. Little house and harry potter series lol and a few 'specialty" books. And then my thought on the others? Books dont go bad so i dont feel bad owning TONS! And i find a feeling of accomplishment each month when i take my stack in to the ised bookstore for credit. I literally have THOUSANDS of books. Some are in my unfinished upstairs in banana boxes, some in my walk in closet and some on shelves in my reading room. Theyre fun to go through now and again and choose my next read. I just have no guilt owning them! And very rarely when i look thru them do i choose to unhaul one lol. But i have no problem letting go once i read it. One day i get them all entered into goodreads!
I don't keep all the books I've read either. These shelves are mainly unread books I found at thrift stores, used bookstores, little free libraries, gifts, etc. I very rarely pay full price. I am not quite up to thousands, but close to a thousand for sure. I like having a lot, but I want to be excited about all the ones I do have. I used the scanner for GR on my phone. Didn't take too long to add them all.
@BooksAndJams one day, one day! I will get the logged. I start and then decide I want them another way. Goos thing about goodreads is no matter how many shelves you have (aka boxes for me) you can still sort by title or author and know right where it is. I get too caught up with trying to organize as I go, I should just get logging them in! Well I'm off for the next 2 days maybe I'll do a few.

Liane Moriarty is so hit or miss for me. I did not like The Last Anniversary or Nine Perfect Strangers. Currently listening to Three Wishes and it is fine. I still need to read Big Little Lies and What Alice Forgot. I guess I should unhaul those I didn't like...🤔

I dnfd The City Baker's Guide...by Louise Miller....on the first page. It had an affair and I skimmed through and it seemed to be a theme throughout. So disappointing! I'm reading her other one now and it's ok so far.

I don't think you will like The Husband's Secret by LM. While the premise story is compelling, I felt the whole book was based on sex, in conversations, themes, etc. Just didn't appeal to me and I think you'd feel the same way. Just made for uncomfortable reading in my opinion.

You can lose “Women of Copper Country” Good premise, but very confusing…switching between characters, and the writing was just not good. DNF’d it a third of the way in…
