Simon Thompson CEO of Royal Mail left with a 700,000 pounds pay off and Royal Mail claims poverty 😂😂😂😂😂, Ever get the feeling you've been cheated
Totally agree with you on that 100% he didn't have a clue about what he was doing
ROYAL MAIL HAS PAYED OVER 2 BILLION POUNDS TO SHAREHOLDERS THIS IS JUST ABOUT PURE GREED
Save Royal Mail they have thousands of loyal hard working posties.
Thanks for your comment, I would love to see it return to public ownership and not give all the money to shareholders outside the UK.
The billions COVID Giveaway went ashtray
The UK next govt needs to block this take over. Terms and conditions been falling over last 10 years. Govt needs to re nationalise the postal service in UK. All this guy wants is the assets which he will sell quick.
Royal Mail has been losing money for over ten years. Why does anyone want to own it outright? Why would a country let their postal system be foreign owned?
because people do not send mail anymore, when email is free and own by a foreign country already
He’s not just buying Royal Mail, he’s buying the umbrellas company IDS which owns more.
£1.6 billion in pension surplus
£1.6 billion in property assets
And also owns GLS touted to be worth £3 billion and Rosenau Transport in Canada worth £250 million which both make profits.
There is always a reason billionaires buy things, just got to scratch beneath the surface a little.
Lot of money to be made asset stripping.
Royal Mail has payed over 2 Billion pounds to shareholders
@@sonofwilliamchris show me the source of your data or its just nonsense.
There was rumours of him buying Sainsbury’s & West Ham a few years ago when he increased his shares in both
As a postman myself,he’s buying up all the shares we were given years ago,an average of 900 shares each.
The state of Royal Mails van fleet is the worst I have ever seen. Having worked in big industry, and many life experiences. Royal Mail needs a good workforce but also needs decent vehicles to deliver a good service .
My depot has electric vehicles. We are pushing towards parcels because naturally mail is dying. I’ve been here for 6 months and the lack of training is really bad. The management are gone when I start so there is no structure with regards to what is expected from the company. Just given the parcels and out the door. If someone was way inclined they could easily not deliver a parcel claiming the customer was not present. There needs to be a much closer relationship between the colleagues and management.
A Billion Pound (£) surplus in royal mail pension fund. Property worth Billions of pounds (£). His bid is equal to buying the company for free.
The country needs a postal service, remember how much we needed it during covid.
Should never be sold off, just like the Water companies, Rail and Power. There is no competition in the phone industry either. They all charge about the same, and make you switch every 12 months.
Money that should go back in to the business in terms of investment is simply given to shareholders. While the price keeps going up.
First thing mail gets delivered to a box at the end of your driveway, garden. As they do in France. This will allow posties to deliver 3 times the letters, using electric motorbikes. Parcels separate by van to door.
Agreed the company must modernise
But should not be at the cost of the workforce
The greatest asset of any company is it’s employees
They have great workers and don’t need to be treated like crap like other similar companies in the market
Modernisation is just a euphemism for destroying terms and conditions of postal workers
All of the money given to a single CEO was enough to fund modernization...
will any one believe he isn't going to asset strip the company and get rid of letters after the five year agreement apart from Dave Ward he'll agree to anything
Good luck Mate , you will need it , and a Magic wand !
I as a British citizen oppose the company Royal Mail being sold to an outside company, on the grounds that if we cannot make it work, what makes us think that someone else can, it should not be sold but Make it work for the UK 🇬🇧. Do what the management government always do, throw that much money at it so the problem doesn’t exist, and also throw some money towards NHS to make that work.
I dont know anything about this particular man but I do know something about Czechs in general relating to my own experience. They are not welcoming in my experience ,are very conservative and they ignore people completely particularly if you are foreign. They simply ignored me completely when I lived there. Other foreigners I spoke with who had been there years said the same.
@@erongi233 Honestly, did you ask Czech people if we want you here? We dont have good experiences with foreigners coming here.
Daniel Kretinsky the czech billionaire already owns 24% of royal mail through EP Equity Investment S.à r.l. then through International Distributions Services who owns royal mail.
27%
@@jsiddiq72 thank you
He promised he wouldn't buy more shares before he owned that 24% but did it anyway. Already showing you he is a liar...
Hi Mark,
knowing its Royal mail lets give it a couple of days as the last parcel that was sent to me was three weeks late.. yes Royal mail again and that was also first class!
They should lose the Royal bit!
Should always have it sent tracked 24/48 as they prioritise that over 1st and 2nd .
Unless I missed something, the only thing he mentioned in terms of parcels is putting infrastructure in place so deliveries happen on the first attempt. This will only help a small amount, because these days most posties doorstep parcels just like Amazon, Evri, etc. These other courier companies don't ask for signatures, Royal Mail does for some parcels, this means less work gets done each day. Will we say goodbye to signed-for parcels?
The union must take some blame on why this company has not moved forward. Now we will see if what he will do to make it wirk
Royal mail management needs to be got rid of and new people in and investing in staff training and getting the best people to do the job
Training? How hard is it posting something through a letterbox or knocking a door to deliver something? Post people aren't astronauts 🤣
@@adamellis7910 They don't train people how to read addresses in the mail centers. Staff who start with the company haven't got any idea how to deliver the mail . We used to have the best training for staff years ago. But now we are going backwards
@adamellis7910 as a postie trainer there's a little more to it than that. There's health and safety protocols and set times and schedules that a postie needs to abide by as well as protocols when delivering parcels. It's a easy job sure, but you can't just hire someone without training someone with every aspect of the job. God I wish it was just posing letters that would be easy.
@@Challerz so how many years in college or further education do you need to become a postie? All you need is a license and the ability to read addresses even tho they still get that wrong 😂 they manage to deliver parcels and letters to the wrong address, well I've had a fair few parcels that belonged to someone else put through my door 😂
@adamellis7910 Mistakes happen, sure when you deliver to near 1000 houses a day there's going to be some mistakes. Especially when it's a physical job. Try walking for 14 miles on a treadmill for about 3 hours with inclines and steps, then read numbers as you're walking, in rain, snow, and blistering heat. I can guarantee you're probably going to get some wrong. It happens. Granted, it shouldn't happen. You don't need to be educated, but you need to be capable, we've had ex paratroopers walk out because it's too hard.
So does all this talk about out of home delivery infrastructure mean putting lockers in most neighbourhoods? I have no issues with lots of lockers everywhere but I hope this isn't so they can remove the USO to deliver to homes.
I have a parcel box at my home which all couriers are happy to deliver to. 👍🏻
But sure, it's good to add more options at the online checkout or inflight to deliver to a locker or a wider selection of places beyond the current inflight option to collect from post offices and delivery offices.
And I'd love to see something like USPS "informed delivery" letter scanning notification service for royal mail.
The impressive personality can't report with the respond. The objectives polish on the maniacal contract. The Royal Mail needs are better than the responsibility. Some favorite reaction sparks into the voluminous efficiency. What if the better great arrives the demand? The dramatic distributions are better than the equipment.
The evil boxes can fry in the administration.
Can't the employees of Royal Mail collectively take out a loan to place a bid on it? Then it would become employee owned and shares can be paid to posties as part of their pay.
Billionaire has the shit webcam.
Looks shifty like artificial intelligence bots
All apple laptops have rubbish webcams idk why but its something they never upgrade, needs more lighing
He just turned Apple Camera. As he is not an Actor, i Guest He just doesnt have any other
A disgrace royal mail when I worked in it if I left a parcel or package in someone's bucket or garden I would have been sacked on the spot try phoning too complain
Can't help thinking his facial actions don't look right, looks shifty, like artificial intelligence (FAKE) but,, it's getting so real like nowadays it's hard to tell
But it would also explain why the poor webcam AI
Yep, many times it has been stated that he never does interviews or talks, yet in this video he doesn't stop talking.
Doomed.
Royal mail=1.5 billion pension surplus property worth billions.asset strippers
This guy is a ruthless capitalist , the race to the bottom on workers terms and conditions has begun 😢
No it hasn't because he has already failed!

.
SCREW YOU ROYAL MAIL !!!!!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Smart guy.
We need his investment. Cwu died and RM boardroom clueless
Royal Mail is fucking useless they have an address on the front and a return address on the back along with the QR code with all the information on and they still can’t manage to deliver. As a small company this is a nightmare having to to spend hours on the phone chasing up parcels they can’t find which puts my customers off from buying in the future 🤬
Rant over hopefully someone capable can take over the company and do a better job hiring staff with a brain.
@markharris4202 I'm a postie with 16 years experience, know my customers, their expectations etc... RM has the strictest policy regarding safeguarding mail/parcels...we are not allowed to leave any item in plain view unlike our competitors. It's where RM is at a disadvantage. I have delivered a parcel once according to the customer request placed on the digitally...' throw over the side gate'. Complied with the request, took a photo. Two days later I'm in my manager's office regarding a complaint from the customer not receiving his item. So...followed all the instructions and delivery procedures, the geolocator confirmed the correct location. Outcome... customer gets compensation regardless. Don't say pls we have no brains
Why? Sodumb
