How To Use HP's Sprocket Printer for Scrapbooking

  • After I attended PlannerCon this past March, I checked out TH-cam videos by planner girl extraordinaire, Amy Tangerine, who I met at PlannerCon and who had this great idea for memory keeping using an adorably tiny wireless printer by HP called the Sprocket. For Mother’s Day, I purchased one on Amazon and told my husband, “This is your gift to me.” (Wink wink) After I posted a pic of my Sprocket on Instagram, one of my followers asked me to do a video reviewing the device. I went one step further, and did a two-part video: the first part - the video you’re checking out here - is a walk-through of the device, including some basic steps on how to use it. Part two is a video I did to show you how I plan on doing a version of scrapbooking using my tiny Sprocket prints and traveler’s notebooks. That video can be viewed here: • Fast and Easy Scrapboo... .
    As a working mom, I simply don’t have time to send my digital photos to be printed at Costco or the nearest drugstore. And I certainly don’t have time - though I wish I did because I find papercrafting so fun and relaxing to do - to scrapbook all of my and my family’s memories in those gorgeous 12x12 albums I see online and on social media. But the HP Sprocket is surprisingly easy to use, it’s relatively affordable (non-affiliate links to check out the product, its price and some accessories are below), and it gets me prints of my smartphone camera memories immediately, as they’re happening. So I’m going to take Amy Tangerine’s lead and try this route of printing fun, 2x3 prints of my smartphone pics and make fun, little layouts of them in traveler’s notebooks for memory keeping.
    Don't forget to like this video if you found it useful, and please subscribe to my TH-cam channel, especially if you're a working mama juggling with the never-easy work-life balance. Thanks so much for tuning in and I'll see you in my next video next week! xoxo, anna

    It's amazing , that there aren't any video on TH-cam that shows how this printer works (mechanics behind it)

    The thing with people saying about the photo quality. I just bought it, but from watching reviews a lot give out about the quality of the photos BUT what do you expect from a small 2x3 print of a photo? Your not going to get amazing quality because it’s a tiny printer. You may be able to get a better photo if you edit/alter them but don’t expect top notch quality from a tiny printer 😂 it’s more of a novelty thing cute for memories but if you want top quality go to a print shop or something.

    Does anyone have tips on how to get the images to not be so washed out? I've played around with the editing app and had some success, but then you go through a lot of paper with trial and error. I'm happy to have this for memory keeping as I too use a TN/journal. I just got this as a birthday gift from my family and want it to print slightly better resolution in regards to color.

    I purchased this HP Sprocket and my photos are printing with some white area at the top, not fully printed on the zink paper like in the video. I did not edit any border on it and have zoomed in quite a bit, but it's still printing with white area.
    Anyone having same issues and any recommendations if it can be fixed?

      Ιωάννα grassaki Hi there! The Sprocket doesn’t need ink cartridges, you just have to buy the appropriate paper refills. I linked to where you can buy those in the description box under the video. Thanks for watching!

    Is this paper the same as the regular photo thickness paper?

    • @ByAnnaRaya
      @ByAnnaRaya  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Missy Ramos Sorry for the delay I responding! This paper is a little thicker because of the sticker backing. Once you remove the backing it’s pretty much as thick as regular print-at-home photo paper. Hope this helps!

    My photos are so dark 😩

    • @LE123LE123
      @LE123LE123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having a similar problem. I think given the paper has the ink in it, I would suspect that older packages of photo paper might not print in the best quality vs newer. Try playing with the edit portion---you can adjust brightness/saturation and hue---I suggest doing the hue and saturation--I find it if you make it too bright, you get funny contrast.

    how is. the photo quality

    • @ByAnnaRaya
      @ByAnnaRaya  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ashira Rayan Shafeek The photo quality isn’t amazing, especially the color rendering. It’s not an exact match to what you’re seeing on your screen. But I’d say the quality is pretty good considering these are printing from a tiny device off your phone. I think it’s better than a straight Polaroid film camera since it’s relying on images taken with a better digital camera on your phone. And I really appreciate that I’m getting a printed image right away, rather than having to send them off to Costco or the local drugstore.

    It’s even better for throwing at the wall. Don’t buy it’s a waste of money and HP has the absolute worst support.

    I bought one of these yesterday but I have taken it back for a refund. Was very disappointed in the quality for the price.
    I noticed it made people’s faces look too pink!
    I wouldn’t recommend this product, especially because the film can be quite pricey!
