Omg thank you for actually showing these in action!!! So many other reviews sounded like they were just reading from the promotional campaign and didn't even show the quality of the pictures. I should have known to trust a fellow journal girly over some anonymous tech dudes.
This video is very helpful to compare between all these three printers, so thank you so much for doing it! Also I was wondering since you said you've been using the original HP Sprocket for a while now, does the photo print that you made during earlier years ever change it's quality as time goes on? Maybe like the color fades or such things
Thank you for doing this comparison! I wanted a Sprocket, but from what other people said, the photo quality wasn't as good on the newer models.. this helped me to see it clearly, so now I know which one to purchase.
@@pandapanda4716 I purchased an older Sprocket, used. I believe it is the 1603 - product number Z3Z94A (for rose gold). I really like mine - the print quality isn't fantastic, colour-wise, but it's not bad for an inexpensive, very portable zinc-printer.
I just ordered the current version of the Sprocket and came upon your video to get some tips. Your video was really informative. I love how your showed some of the creative possibilities in the app. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!
This is such a great review! I loved how you walked us through printing them, and how you use them in your journal. I love the collage way as well. The comparison was very helpful. Thank you.
I love this video! The photo how to is what I have been waiting for. I watched one of your old videos last month about the sprocket and knew this is what I was missing from my journaling. I bought a hp sprocket select used off Poshmark and I am in love. And with this how to video I am over the moon! ❤😘
Seems like the Canon actually is closer to the original. Look at the ground they are standing on. In the first two the ground has pink in it. The Canon one is the grey cement color, as does your original photo.
I love this and have been waiting for a video like this. I have a polaroid and hp sproket for 2x3 but my true love is the kodak retro printer. There is nothing that beats the colors of that one. The problem is that it isn't sticker paper. So i use more doodle side tape.
Glad I found your video because I am looking at getting a mini photo printer. I was about to get the newer HP Sprocket, but the old one seems to print better. The newer one seems to print with a pink tinged background. I found the old Sprocket in red, my favorite color. Cheers!
Do you (or anyone else in the comments) know what to do if you can't get HP Zink paper (only Canon is available in my country) and don't have the blue card any more?
Thank you for posting the comparison photos! I was trying to decide if I should stick with the original sprocket or if it was worth getting the newer one … I also like the photos from the original too. I got mine in 2017 and it still works fine! Battery life might not be as good, but I can bring a cord and a battery pack with me on the go 😊
I recently purchased my HP Sprocket 200 last month for Christmas. I used it 4 times the fourth time of using it which was 2 days ago I noticed when I view my printed photos in closer view in a bright room. I can see print quality flaws like tiny red splotches everywhere on the black parts of my photos. The last photo that I recently printed I am starting to get faint white lines on the edges. I purchased 2 separate 20 sheet packs cause it costs less on Amazon. 😓
@@Lovecharmaine I thought there was something wrong with it because it wouldn't charge, but turns out the charging chord was the issue!! Got it hooked up to a new one and the charging light came right on :) now I just have to wait for my paper delivery to know for sure if it's going to work!
this will come in handy!!! because I'm in a long distance relationship my bf and i we been dating two years, and talking two years when he comes sees me he is going to buy this for me as bday gift hes gonna spend two months here , and we want to take many photos together and i have this planner from ( Maggie Holmes ) its similar like the happy planner but it comes with stickers and the monthly dividers and they are absolutely beautiful , girly style so this will be very helpful me to learn how and capture memories I'm excited to get this as a birthday present i want to get into memory keep just need recommendations before getting one
Definitely like the original HP better and do not like the canon. I live INSTAX obviously and the kodak mini is retro shot. It’s nice and clear plus it’s a little Metallicy finish.
Thank you for sharing this comparison. I have and love my original sprocket too, and it do show the lightflashing while printing on the corner light spot. Sorry for my english. I am amazed how the print quality just gets better and better with age with sprocket. I do also have the original kodak mini with is by far has the best picture quality. I use them very much. I also got the kodak mini 2 and 3x3 and they are a disaster in print quality comparing to sprocket and kodak mini. I bought my sprocket and kodak mini in 2017.
@@smartiecandy7088 < My Kodak mini printer are my number one and my number two are sprocket. Booth of the are the first printers. I also recently bought a Kodak P210R mini retro that prints good quality photos, tjats my number three. So I am happy.
I agree with you that the original white Sprocket has the best photo clarity, especially of your faces which is the most important part. I wonder why it is twice the price of the newer model! That’s a bummer
Is that paper good to use not as stickers? Just wondering because I only see the sticker paper. I would think the corners may peel or gather dust in the edges? Getting my girlfriend one for xmas and wanted to know what to expect 🙂
could you tell me if you can do multiple photos per sheet with the blush pink sprocket? i cant seem to get hold of the white one here in the uk. Amazing video thanku xx
As I mentioned in the video… I don’t edit my photos haha especially like that as that’s not my style for memory keeping but feel free to do so if that’s what you like.
So both the sprockets use the same paper? I like how the original looks better but I'm scared to get something discontinued even though I can find it second hand.
Any zink paper will work. They all use the same paper. I don’t think the original is discontinued, as I never seen it off the market. It’s always been available
I do have a sprocket think it is a HP. Still in the box just don't where it is. I did use it most of the time, taking pictures but I thought I was going to loose it so I put it back the box while cleaning. I think if I can't. Find it then I'll get another one.
I just started using mine (hp sprocket first version) and for some reason my photos always print with a white strip on top (I’m currently using Xiaomi 2x3 zink paper) but it also happened when I was using hp original paper idk if I’m supposed to crop my photos at a certain aspect ratio, help!
Oh wow. It shouldn’t have a white strip at the top unless you edited the photos that way. I’m sorry I can’t be any help as I’m not a tech support lol 😮💨 Before printing, on the app, you can see a preview of what it’s gonna print though…
Have you tried any of the dye sub printers like the canon selphy qx10 or the kodak mini 2 retro? I think polaroid hi print is also dye sub. I just picked up the larger canon selphy cp1500 but I haven't tried it yet.
That happens to me when I’m printing LOADS. After 15-20 sheets. It does show that it needs a break because of that. It’s not a huge issue. It just pauses printing for a bit then resumes.

Can easily be done on Canva perhaps?

The app is what makes it capable to do collages, so yes the newer Sprocket can do that! They both use the same app. Hope that helps.💖
also what about with cute filters? bokeh filters , snapchat filters

The cat print put you there?
Can’t believe the oldest printer you have is still the best. I also don’t like the canon printer.
Does the original sprocket remember printing history? Or does it delete?
I ordered the older version Sprocket that you recommended and the pics came out awful lol super blue in hue, idk why 😅
Did you run the blue card through first?
Are you using the Ivy or Ivy 2?
This is the Ivy
Did any of them overheat? Did you print 5 or more in a row? Seen videos where hp overheats in 3 in a row

8:20 The blue color of the castle is not vivid enough in the print from the Canon printer. Original Sprocket is so much better.
