Truly sad to see Anthony in this sorry state, no joy no energy no laughter, a shadow of his former self... RIP brother, you had a full life and brought much joy and inspiration to all.
I was very proud of Jose Andrés, too. He put his money where his convictions stand and refused to go into business with a disgrace of a human being. He’s also been a wonderful ambassador for Spanish food in the USA, and probably the first. Tony was charming and funny, as always. ¡Viva España y viva la comida española!
Actually had tears in my eyes when tony described asturias at the end because i met him once in san sabastion also i am moving to asturias in 4 years to spend the rest of my life there❤ glad tony loved it aswell
I lived 4 years in Madrid and travelled all over the country with my Spanish friends. Asturias was one of my favourite regions. I’m currently living in Sevilla, which is great too :)
Anthony made a terrible decision. But in the end it was his life and he had to make the choice to either keep fighting or checking out. As do we all. Sadly for his family and all of us, we're left here without him and his amazing personality. I wish he would have fought, but I have to respect his decision. Sometimes the worst enemy we have are that voice in the back of our head. The mind can be a dangerous place to stay when you're feeling down and frustrated with reality. Especially alone.
I think it was during his interview on the Joe Rogan podcast where he said that if he could only move to one place to live it would be Thailand or Vietnam. I must give that a re-listen
In one interview he said germany and thailand being the places he enjoyed most food wise (as a german I cannot understand germany as a choice, but I think he really liked the old style worker meals and the beer culture)
It is the traditional way of serving sidra here in Asturias, that is called "escanciar". It's the way of getting the gas into the liquid that makes it more special. Plus, it's not a big waste, for it only splashes a few drops (although it looks like more in the video). In other parts of Spain it's served the traditional way, and the flavour is really different. Furthermore, we use the last of the sidra as a way to cleaning the glass, as it's used as a "shared" glass. You pass it again to the waiter to serve it, and it then goes to the person next to you, and so on. Old traditions also say that we spill that last of the sidra as an offering to mother earth, for letting us have such an amazing drink.
"the spanish guy" is probably one of the most succesful Chefs in the history of the world, a pioneer in the Americans and a filantropist. He is also admired and respected by basically everyone in the gastronomical world. And they're making a documentary about his place of birth and HIM. He carries this episode.

Thanks for everything.
Love this episode so much and Jose Andrés is a legend. But also so depressing to see how unhappy (in hindsight) Anthony was😞
A beautiful soul, destroyed by ruthless betrayal. Excellent episode.

Tony, You are loved and missed .
What a beauty Asturias.
Incroyables Asturies. J'aime bien ce mélange de mer et montagne et de passé industriel. Mes vacances de Toussaint si il fait beau !
And congrats for the way to authorize the salmon's fishing. Beautiful respect of nature, and salmons too.
Totally amazing as always, no words
For my the BEST Asturias is arroz con leche, rice with milk, authentic delicious.

Did Anthony ever say what, out of all the places he's eaten, was the best? Or, his favourite dish of all time?
no
He always talked about his love for Vietnam and blood sausage.

18:43 what's the point of this? Half of the drink is spilled and half of the gas is gone too...
Not if you know how to do it
@@piedadsaiz Well according to José the guy is a genius with it and it still splashes everywhere

There is a point to it. It makes the drink not foamy, but airy? Idk, it's very nice.
