- footage taken over 3 days weekend from Plymouth. First day of scounting the ground near brakewater and some remote marks. Second day of comepetition viz droped and due to many divers hitting the local spots fishing was chellenging. But it's always good to see bass in numbers, such a good sight. I hope 2023 will increase bag limit to at least 3 bass.

no, it's not plankton, the visibility was reduced by previous stormy weather, the bottom sediment is being disturbed and it gets cloudy. However, for the UK it is considered good visibility.

Wow, this must be one of the best spearfishing video about UK ever seen. That viz is world class level! The audio and the music, the mentality being selective and calm! I can’t believe this is UK! Im heading there day after tomorrow! I need to dive in! What camera is this?
thank you for the kind words! This is unusual for the UK to have such vis, but Dorset, Devon and Cornwall have quite a good vis during summer. I use GoPro Hero 8 Black. Shooting in 2k at 60fps.
@@puhazoid9296 I just did a Cornwall dive today in Prussia cove, not too impressed, fishes are very limited but that is expected, it’s harder ball game comparing to California kelp forest. There are quite A few arm size fishes, but vis is like 3 meter max, came in the wrong time maybe. Will try north Cornwall tomorrow newquay, then will head up for Scotland.

Rib is a rigid inflatable boat. I don't know the company who you could hire the boat from. Sorry
Can you use scuba for spearfishing in the UK or is it just free diving. I can scuba but cant hold my breath
there is no defined regulation clearly saying you cannot use scuba equipment to spearfish in the UK, however in the spearfishing community it's not regarded, considered not sporty. Also you will struggle to see any sizeable fish as you will spook it all by blowing bubbles. You might see a wrasse these fish are quite friendly and do not taste as great.
Over-all rules changed in 2019, originating in EU law and promulgated into UK law:
1. No spearfishing with Scuba
2. No spearfishing between dusk and dawn
