One reason he does this only in the playoffs is that the team needs more balance in the regular season. And, as Coach Spo said, Jimmy is a bit psychotic. Even more than him burning out if he did this during the regular season, the team would explode. Their name is the Heat, not the Bomb, exploding during the regular season would be bad even for them.

Jimmy Butler doesn't coast during the regular season. He averaged 22.9 points on an impressive .539 FG% this season, handles the ball as a primary or secondary distributor, rebounds and defends. He's not been a regular headline during the NBA season since he forced a trade out of Minnesota, so people tend to overlook him.
In the playoffs, Butler's skill level and leadership step up because he can game plan against the opponents in a seven-game series. He started emerging as a big-game player in Philadelphia, when he effectively was the team's closer.
Since he's been in Miami, Butler has been dragging a team with OK talent outside of Bam Adebayo way above its capabilities. What he did vs. Milwaukee was just another game where he willed the team to victory against a better opponent (Game 5, 2020 NBA Finals vs. the Lakers; Game 6, 2022 East finals vs. Boston).

You missed a important part of Jimmy's performance in game 5 of that finals when he was exhausted.... He was up clapping Rachel Nichols cheeks all night the night before. Most dudes wouldn't come close to those numbers the next night. Jimmy buckets is a living legend.

I think Joy oversimplified the situation. The Bulks don't have a 4% chance of coming back and winning. That 4% is any random team put in that position. The chances of a team making that comeback depend on which teams you're talking about. If you're talking about the 2020 Nuggets against the Jazz or Clippers, they defied whatever the odds were at the time based on the make up of the teams they were playing against. It's not simply a matter of the ratio of times teams have overcome this deficit (4%) but which teams are playing. To clarify, the odds of the Bucks beating the Pistols three games in a row is much higher than the Bucks beating Boston three games in a row. It's not just a matter of two teams playing in this scenario but which teams are playing.
Acho’s take here gave me a quick reminder as to why I’ve been skipping his analysis lately to get to the other panel members
