Very cool build, impressive both in conception and implementation. One minor word of caution, I'd be very careful using that during a thunderstorm or any other time when there's a reasonable chance the power could go out. I had a friend who worked with some high pressure systems that were very safe and use something similar to hold the work item, until the power went out and the instantaneous loss of control created a very exciting projectile.
maybe a bank of capacitors in the switch box so the drill or milling machine shuts down first with a power cut to give you 10 seconds or so of extra magnetism
@@JoseSilveira-newhandleforYT hmm yes but then the magnetic field wouldn't be that strong. It still draws lots of current too probably since a MOT primary usually has a really low impedance
@@Electronichub_05 Yep. I've seen people simply using the secondary as primary to make a 12V supply and it runs cool. Also, these transformers are designed for short periods of operation and are run overloaded (less turns on primary than should be), so overheating is expected, but the intermittent use saves it from damage. Placing the two primaries in series halves the current, but it also doubles the number of turns, which should create a similar magnetic field, only over a wider area.
@@Electronichub_05 LOL. I tripped some circuit breakers doing experiments - without the "I" section, the MOT primary is almost a short circuit 🙂 I managed to make one work as a weaker electromagnet with a bulb in series (didn't have two coils to put in series back then) - still could test motor armatures and demagnetize tools. That was a long time ago, when MOT coils were made of copper and not aluminum 🙂
Clever idea using primary coils of microwave oven transformers. I just wonder what kind of power supply you are using, DC voltage I believe and what is the voltage on each coil ?
@@blender_unleashed A transformer with only one coil is no longer a transformer. If you watch the video again you will see that the secondary coils have been removed on all the transformers and the metal cores have been reduced accordingly so they now are electro-magnets, so they now should be powered with DC.
And now think about it! You're machining and... BLACKOUT! ... and the metal piece flies away at the speed of light!!! lol. Not quite a safe method to work with
@@william-Bartee depending on the speed and mass of the spindle, it could still have a lot of kinetic energy to dissipate into the part being machined
The only problem with it is that it magnetizes both the workpiece and the tool. I think that could be a problem. And I wonder what's in that big box besides the two switches. 🙂
Такую ерунду придумал, пустая трата времени. Все это можно зажать и просверлить и без магнитов. Тот же лист просто укладывается на фанерку и сверлиться, да же без зажимов.
THE IDEA IS PRETTY INTERESTING AND THE QUALITY OF PERFORMANCE IS AT THE HIGHEST

I love your resourcefulness. Funny thing is, you seem to have experience far beyond your years.
Great build-
It may be a struggle with bits....since chips don't want to move & are recut from the magnetism.
Yeeees! Old school Make it Extreme music!
Well I guess I need one of those!

Salut ,
Ton nouveau format de video courte est juste genial 🤘🏻😉 toujours un plaisir de voir tes anciennes videos .

@@lestercranmer2631 Yeah, something like that could work.
Maybe adding a ups would be a good idea. At least give you time to shut everything down
So homemade dual mag chucks. That's pretty awesome. Love it
Very clever, do you sketch out these ideas or do you just build off the cuff?
That's gona save you some serious time especially when milling faces with no mucking about with parallels and clamps in the way👍

Amazing work, dude! Really fantastic tool! 😃

Good job mister well done
Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented

Great job. I really enjoy watching and following your channel
That is so cool 👍 going to make your life so much easier now. Great work
অসাধারণ 👌😍
Cool design, I’ve got some transformers ready to go to build mine, but it won’t fancy as yours. Very cool, thanks.
Muy buen trabajo, una consulta cada grupo de transformadores los conestastes en serie o paralelo entre ellos?
Seguramente en serie a 12v
Good work 👍
Wow I just wet my pants, I'll definitely build one of those for sure . You rock man ✌️
tool at 17sec please the one in the description isnt is 0:17
Ya, that’s really cool.
Great job…I made mine with an AC compressor magnet. It holds really well considering it’s only 12 volts.
Very cool but don't these heat up like hell?
Mine always did and draw a ton of power too xD
I'm wondering if he wired the two primaries in series. That would greatly improve the temperature.

On the electrical side of it, do u just bridge the 2 transformers and connect a corded plug to it?

peak force for once of holding and continues clamping force with out over heating any info ?

And wat happen to the part of the transformer that was higher than the box, didn’t see him cut it flush after adding the resin
Great 😊
Electrical schema please?
А обмотка которая осталась первичная?
I was thinking, u could update the screw locking mechanism with a smaller electromagnetic coil.

Most people who work with metal have a demagnetizer.
It’s AC so it doesn’t magnetise.
Same as a demag

Wow😃👍
power went off while working, and now u got a profile stuck on your belly, gg no ty
in which part of the body will the workpiece fly in the event of an accidental power outage?
