Regardless of some of the negative comments, I think that it brilliant. An excellent idea. It is a prototype that works and works well. If more grip was needed as in heavy machining, it could be clamped in addition to the magnets. Loved it.
Great fabrication skills. Drill press vise always a necessity for many projects. But a Magnetic drill press vise is really a luxury. Great plan. Great build. Well done!
I like it! No, I love it! Brilliant, so many times, too much time trying to tie down the vice just right, to drill a 30second hole, what a time saver this is
I love it .....all made from scratch......all made by hand.....cool electro magnetic vice !! You have made a lot very cool and useful tools this is great !! 👍👍Totally awesome !! The naysayers are just jealous .
I know you’re loving the new shop being set up just how you like it. Very proficient, everything right where you need it. Isn’t it a great feeling, there’s nothing like it! Sweet little vise too. I’m making a simple electromagnetic base plate for an existing vise I have that my father gave me. I only wish he was still around to see the technology today, just flipping a switch to lock it in place vs having to bolt it down every time he’d use it. Great job, thanks for taking us along✌🏼

Once again my friend, a superior design and construction video. So I must be a Patreon subscriber to get the plans. Oh well, being 63 years old and on disability does not give me the advantage of being able to contribute to patreon. Great job though. Thank you again.
Yeah, at 12:47 the video transition makes it really obvious. Adding more magnets is a solution for sure. Though, the extra heat generated by those magnets would induce even more thermal expansion which is not that good on a precision tool.
That's twisting force. Magnets provide mostly clamping force. He would need to add something to the bottom to increase friction to get it not to twist like that.
Top video yet again mate! You must be happy with the new workshop! Very jealous! Keep up with the great video's! Looking forward to the next video for some inspiration!
It'd be cool to make a few of these electromagnets and make a hook for them and have it as an attachment for a small hydraulic crane to pick up small to medium piles of scrap metal and stuff.
Excellent work. That should save a lot of time and potential injuries. Now he is no excuse not to clamp the metal down instead of holding it with his hand while drilling holes
Great project and build. For reliability and better performance I suggest using another type of power connector, i.e. XT60. The one You used is kinda shitty, I had many problems with them. To improve the situation You can scratch the area around the middle pin and solder it to make better electrical connection and minimise power loses (and heating the connector, which might get significant with current above 4 amps);
Now, I did see it move a TINY little bit when it drilled the holes... So, if you are doing 'precision work' this might not hold it through the entire cut. But a SUPER handy little clamping mechanism for getting any angle you could ever want for rough work.

Agreed. Both very talented!
Well done! 👍Another great piece of equipment added to the already well equipped workshop. 💪
Donn You here?!?
Thanks man!!

GO FINISH YOUR CRUSHER AND STOP WATCHING VIDEOS!!!
this is definitely going on my "must build" list when I eventually rebuild my workshop (whenever that is)
Początkowa prezentacja działania elektromagnesu najlepsza :D

*Awesome vise! Really like your new workshop* 😎
A really beautiful piece of work! Your Moore milling machine looks about as complicated as WWII German U-Boat torpedo room controls 😁
Great fabrication skills. Drill press vise always a necessity for many projects. But a Magnetic drill press vise is really a luxury. Great plan. Great build. Well done!

how could anyone not like this is beyond me. your content absolutely rocks!👌🏾🍻
Brother you can work with steel like a woodworker works with wood. PURE AWESOME Craftsmanship!!! 👍👍
Nice to see you back at metalworking in your new workshop!
Great video mate. Those electro magnetic door locking systems are so powerful

This is a very strong six, well played sir.
Excellent work as always. We featured this video in our homemade tools forum this week :)
Unbelievable! You work in metal just as if it were wood.
All without detail drawings? Amazingly! 😍
Excellent work. ”Make it extreme” made one from microwave oven magnet. Works a treat too.
Just what I need. Thanks for the idea.
I'll cheat and buy a small vise, but the door lock was the useful hint.
.

Klasse Idee mit den E. Magneten unter den Maschinenschraubstock
Excellent design and manufacture.
Great addition to the shop.
Thanks for sharing.
I think the 2 Magnets are not strong enough.
@12:50 you can see the vise moving a little.
I would add another 2 Magnets.
Yeah, at 12:47 the video transition makes it really obvious.

Good spot, really clear if you look at the yellow warning triangle sticker at the bottom of the screen
That's true...and this is just a "drilling holes" test...buti it's a milling machine and a machine vise.
Also, for magnet mounting you have to keep clear desk, hygiene first, no any metal shavings at the bottom
And hope the power don't go out during drilling ...been there with surface grinders.
We'll be waiting for a video about that new milling machine of yours.
Well done, the vise is awesome.
Happy to see cap screws back in use ; )
Hello mister Poland that is a vise, beautiful, very good work you are a legend my friend
As always excellent work. But what I like most is your heavy drill.
I really like your homemade diy I watched your channel before I have my own
needed a vise to drill all those holes.
haha
great job, you rock.
Men this is Nice. I must have in my workshop 👍😁
нармально
When he kept going back to the saw.. MOAR STEEL!!! 🙌
Damn cool machine you got there ! Great magnetic vice. twa piwa from Belgium !
Now, this is something, a really cool work.
12:48 - it moved! (
Right, but set it to high voltage and it should be stable then. It works under 12V.
Saw that too... Still pretty damn cool though...
Resonance, even magnet can't hold it.
That's twisting force. Magnets provide mostly clamping force. He would need to add something to the bottom to increase friction to get it not to twist like that.
@@xenonram O! It might make sense, a rubber pad or something.
Great video! Looks like your Rhino Cart is still going strong(hands)!

You do very very beautiful video, merci, and hello from Russia 😁
Very coll build you are quite the craftsman.
Zarąbisty pomysł, super projekt.
a lot of work but a great final result keep the videos going now with the new shop
Dude that was awesome as hell .... Dam u always take things to another level brother 💪🏻 ... Love the videos man keep em coming 👍🏻👍🏻

superb build and the outcome. wow!
