    That low angle view of you, visiting the spot at which you used to get loaded, is priceless. Very insightful. And telling. I am currently building the story of how I was widowed by an alcoholic, of which I only have my perspective. Thank you for sharing.

    Love this. Exactly what I was hoping for when you said you were going to try to do more vids. A bit of the 'day-in-the-life', a glimpse of the podcast process and the guest, and the sweet camera angle at the end plus bit of nostalgia....perfect touch. Thx, Rich.

    Love you in this format Rich!!! Your videographer has a beautiful way of humanizing both you and your podcast guests. He lingers over the shot and allows for the sweet, everyday moments to reveal. This was especially evident with ChrisG. I was an early adopter of the RRP and really appreciate the vids. Keep em coming.

      Rich Roll I can see the amount of editing so I get it:) it's worth it though. It give a 3D dimensions to your interviews and the vegan life style. I live in LA and recently switched to a 100% plant base living . I don't really like the word diet. It has such a stigma and lots of restrictive notions attached to it. I love cooking and love great tasting food. Haven't been restricting myself at all witch is key for my success I feel. Your work just fell on my lap as I started this journey and started investigating more in depth. I guess there is no accidents. I started also practicing Win Hof breathing technique as I ramped up my fitness activities and started riding my road bike regularly. Lost 18 lb since last April and at 43 years of age it wasn't an easy task. The work you do is more that great, it's necessary, it's vital for the planet and for the people in it. I don't picture you needing encouragements at this point of your life :) lol , but I sure do, so thank you sir🤙🏽.

    I'm loving the videos, Rich. Beautifully shot and engaging. For me, the sound levels could be more balanced. In this video, the dialogue was hard to hear at normal volume, but the dog barking was ear-blowing. Keep up the great work. You are inspiring a whole new population of folks trying to live their best life. Hope the feedback is helpful.

    • @richroll
      @richroll  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks Scott - we are well aware of the issue. We balanced the levels best we could. We use a RODE pro mounted to the camera for everything but looking into a lav mic to solve this problem. The audio from the podcast is lifted from the actual podcast recording on my ZOOM H6 which is why it sounds so much cleaner. We're moving forward best we can and will be improving and finding our rhythm, aesthetic, vibe, etc. as we go and learn and get comfortable with each other. Trying to just get them as good as we can without spending too much time trying to make everything perfect. Stick with us and these issues will begin to get resolved! Thanks for watching.

    Wow, the largest oldest living organism is the Honey Fungus in Oregon (3 miles across, 3000 years old)??!
    Are the mushroom supplements that are commonly sold (4 Sigmatic or otherwise), raw or blanched? On the High-Intensity-Health podcast, Daniel Winkler says that mushrooms should always be cooked for safety, and absorbability/efficacy.
    So Chaga and Reishi (King and Queen mushrooms), are good for the immune system and sleep respectively? Dave Asprey suggests Lion's Mane mushrooms may help with REM sleep in addition to BDNF.. as is Rhodiola Rosea, Ashwagandha, Bacopa, Gotu Kola, and Taurine. However, since Rhodiola Rosea’s health properties may come from the fact that it can grow under extreme conditions like in the Caucasus Mountains.. if planted locally, would it have the same toughness nutrients?
    I've heard the Agaricus blazei mushroom works well for controlling blood sugar.
    Regarding how (Reishi?) mushrooms are adaptogens... Alex Tarnava suggests Molecular Hydrogen is also one of the best adaptogens (see the Living Beyond 120 podcast)! In addition to Chaga, according to Leo The Alchemist's Guide To Biohacking / Mason Taylor's Tonic Herbalism 101 video course, some other adaptogens are: Gynostemma pentaphyllum / jiaogulan, astragalus, He Shou Wu, Eucommia Bark, Deer Antler, Micro-Ground Pearl powder, Dragon's Blood (highest ORAC!).
    BTW, Fika (Swedish) sounds a bit like Hygge (Danish).
