I was always curious, how do y'all determine how long the pauses (when the listener speaks) are?
Is it in the script or do you make up a response in your head? or maybe something else even

Good question! It would depend on the script. Sometimes there are directions on them and other times it is down to the reader to determine. In my case when there are not directions, I will listen to the whole thing to try and make sure the pacing sounds ok.
