Thank you for posting this. I've often fantasized what this town looked like, and wondered what it was like when my grandfather helped liberate it in WW2 with his fellow Canadian soldier's. I got chill's watching this. Mean's a lot to me that you posted this :) 🇨🇦
I'm happy that I was able to share it! I'm from the US, but in that area there are still many Italians with very warm sentiment toward the Canadians and there's lots of cultural exchange between Abruzzo and Canada. In Lanciano, for example, there's a Canadian school, and many, many Abruzzesi that immigrated to Ontario after the war.
Oh wow! Yeah I grew up in Ontario as well! I’ve been planning to take a trip here one day, hopefully after this pandemic thing cools down. I love the old architecture shown here, and being able to see the history in it still with bullet holes and all.
