Tire rack guy: This is a brand new tire developed by Bridgestone and VW specifically tuned for the GTI, it is the highest grip tire option. First Corner Randy: "Not much tire grip" LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
Potenza S001 is potentially the worst tire i've had the displeasure of driving with, you are doing yourself and the car a disservice by not putting some better rubber on a GTI
Mine came with them from the factory, horrible grip for summer tires, replaced them with much cheaper nitto invos, while significantly louder, I can take corners much faster with those! Will replace them with something else once they wear out tho, couldn't see myself living with the tire noise...
Tariq I put PS4’s on mine and it’s still the best thing I’ve done to the car, significantly less noise and grip everywhere. Bridgestone should be ashamed
@@aluisious Horses for courses. Good luck putting three passengers in a Miata, plus their luggage. Or doing any of the other things many Golf buyers might need to do. These two cars are chalk and cheese.

Because, actually, there are tires just as good and not nearly as expensive as Michelin... all-season performance and full summer! Not slamming Michelin at all... great tires. Just saying that's probably why most choose NOT to buy Michelins. Hey, for the money saved by NOT going Michelin, one can purchase another MOD, possibly two, for their ride! :-P
Tire Rack I just bought my 3rd set of tires from you guys in just over a years time. I'll be testing my under steer with new tires at Barber Motorsports Park June 2021 in my modified 2019 VW GTI. Roebling Road Raceway ate my front left tire last November. I'll post more videos after next track weekend. I really like Tire Rack.
GTI will take it. Less weight better great ratios on the DSG at least. People think they are exactly the same underneath but there are subtle differences and that's what keeps the GTI on top imo.
This was a base model can tell by the plaid interior. Hope it at least had the limited slip dif in the front on this particular car that was an option or could be a mid model with the cloth seats it's difficult to know for sure. The Autobahn version has the digital cockpit i believe.
@@eppyz For all 2019 cars the performance pack with the VAQ LSD is standard equipment on all trim levels. Plaid seats are available on S and Rabbit edition cars.
@@eppyz GTI AB model does not have digital dash. Golf-R does. And as mentioned above, it's not difficult to know about the LSD because that comes std on the 2019, as well as the Golf-R brakes. So, all those excuses don't apply to the 2019 model. Crappy tires could.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/30 ZR19 going on my mk7.5 GTI. Plus an IS38 turbo with the upgrades needed. Hopefully to have mine on track in January. I'll put some videos on my channel.
Randy should drive the TCR (Mk7.5) or, if not available, the Mk7 Clubsport (S) as those versions are tuned for the race track. At least you should have given him the GTI Performance version with the limited slip differential and bigger brakes. Why not give Randy a second chance?
For the 2019 USA GTI model...(a) the perf pkg no longer exists and therefore (b) they all have the Golf-R brakes and (c) they all have VAQ LSD. Any more pointers?
@@jerryg.3080 No, it's clear :-) But Randy mentioned that the car understeers under power, which definitely should not be the case with this VAQ. I know, I have one.
That BS. They would give away a car worth 50% more. The stalling problem was the fuel pumps and its been fixed for months. Nobody on VWvortex had their cars replaced from what I saw. They simply did the diagnostic, found the issue and fixed it.
Sounds terrible definably not stock. My GTI never made that noise. My Evo 9 MR did back in the day but it was due to the short ram intake and other mods. I hated the sound then and still do. Makes the car sound cheap.
Nah but you can defentilty add one onto it. Forge motorsport makes a good one I hear. Pair that with a cts turbo intake and you will be a wind storm in the front and DSG imploding noises in the back. Very awesome.
Forget the Bridgestone Potenza S001... anyone is much better served with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport, the Continental Sportcontact 6 or the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. If your car rides on 18" wheels, specially in europe, the Eagle F1 Supersport might be the only option of the 3. No horries, it's probably the best UHP summer tire currently on the market. th-cam.com/users/TyreReviews
