From Canada but living in Mexico. I've always had a thing for sport and sport-touring bikes where you can see the engine. In Mexico we have the GSX-8S but not the GSX-8R. I think yours looks better. In the 40 years I've been riding, Suzukis and Kawasakis have always treated me well.
Interesting vid. It's nothing special but it's a great do a bit of everything all round package for a decent price. With regard to the Mpg or Km/L display "issue" you mentiomed, you can change it in the menus. You have the option of Imperial, US gallons or Km/L. Someone's obviously been messing about in the menus lol. With regard to the tail tidy, there are lots of attractive intergrated options but not so cheap.
I took the 8S and 8R for a test ride. Both lovely bikes but my old back couldn't cope with the 8R. Ended up getting the Vstrom 800RE, which has the same engine.
@@ProphetAndLoss oh how did they compare to each other? I collected the 8s today so I’m excited to see how it is compared to the 8r! How do you find the vstrom? it’s on the list to do!
Great vid, just had an issue there with the wind noise when you're riding, sometimes I couldn't hear you at all, you have to adress that problem somehow, but thanks for all the feedback, looks like a great bike to own!
What an amazing motorcycle! All the features you could ask for and easy to use. What is the top speed if you were to guess? What other motorcycles are in that price range that are fully faired? Great review! 👏
@@grandprixjames it really was a cracking bike, I was sad to take it back. I’ve got a video coming soon where I do some top speed runs on a private run way, I got 138, I’m really small so can tuck and lightweight 😂 my other half got 134. I’d say you could get more In the right conditions, but Suzuki claim a top speed of 134mph. Not many others available at that price etc I think the closest would be the r7
@@SibrenDVchannel yeah depends on the bike what shifter is on it tbh. Most model bikes you can use it all the time. Like my tuono v4 I only use a clutch when pulling off or stopping use the shifter everywhere else, but the mt09 and this required more revs behind it.
@@vin4216 oh for sure. I’ve ridden everything from gs adventure bikes to sportsbikes. Don’t let the height of bikes put you off, you just learn to adapt and figure out what works for you. I did do a video on tips for shorter riders, it’s on my page.
Good job, interesting to hear your thoughts but IMO at least 10 mins too long. People have short attention spans these days lol. The bike looks best in that Silver with red wheels.
@@Al-df7np I did try to keep the video down, I normally have it shorter around 18/20mins but I had so much to say on the bike 😂😂 Yeah I agree the silver and red is the nicest colour, the red on the wheels really pop too.

@@bikerwithabag That's fantastic! Vroom Vroom.... 😊
Top is 205 kph
Would you say this would make a good first big bike?

first?
Well for quickshifter it is better to shift higher rpm, right? Thats standard for me

Nice review, quite a bit of wind noise but still able to hear you most of the time lol
