    I find actually modding guns is best done at the weapon vendor in Neon. He has a weapon modding table you can use, and if you need a resource you don't have on you or in your nearby ship, there are 3 resource vendors and a trade authority way closer than any on Jemison.

      Clint might be my favorite vendor character, sounds like me. Being difficult to find adherent or solvent, I built a couple of greenhouses on Gagaren and visited Clint a lot to get stuff. That is TOTALLY not the only unlimited container in the game. There's some ammo boxes behind the weapons workbench, and another box in Cora's room down the way, and they're all unlimited. But every single one of those isn't a "safe" container. They reset if you do any quests that resets the Lodge (which a couple main story quests do), meaning you'll lose anything you store in them prior to doing those quests. There's a safe in your bedroom in the Lodge, though, that IS a "safe" container (that is, it never resets), and also has unlimited storage space.
    Please don't spread misinformation. Those containers resetting is something people need to be made aware of.

    I am having trouble I found the artifact in the cave on Indum III-D. I have tried to extract the artifact Theta using the Heller Cutter, till the power in the cutter is exhausted, 10 times, and I still can't remove the artifact. I have used this process to secure 4 other artifacts using the cutter after a maximum of two attempts. I need your help. Thank you from Depoe Bay, Oregon. This is what Bethesda suggested after I opened a Ticket with them. Force the game to refresh or redraw the problem area using one of the following methods:
    Fast Travel out of the area where you are having an issue, such as to a nearby planet, and return.
    Enter an "instanced" area where you get a loading screen and return to the area you were experiencing an issue.
    Waiting 72 in-game hours by sitting down or resting can reset NPC related behavior.
    Sometimes exploring other areas or completing unrelated questlines may resolve issues.
    Load an earlier save from before you zoned into that area and try again.
    Completely exit out of the game and reboot your system.
    Completely disable and remove all mods you have installed, if applicable. I am playing on an XBOX Series X

    upgrading weapons before you sell them is something i've been doing and suggesting since i started.. BUT, it's only worth it on guns that have some value, if it's normal value is under 1000 credits, it's probably not worth the time.. but once you start finding guns worth 10,000- 40,000 with no mods.. soo worth it.
    i have a gun with a value that went from under 40,000 to over 80,000 with a few upgrades, i have had ships worth less!! and my character is only level 33.. i'm sure there will be even more valuable weapons later on.

  • @Zayphar
    @Zayphar ปีที่แล้ว +2

    SPACESUIT DESIGN: This skill adds only VERY LIMITED defensive bonuses to your armor/spacesuit. The bonuses to defense are not nothing, but they are not noticeable in gameplay. The bonuses do not add an increased percentage of defense, instead the mods add a flat number of defense points to a particular category of defense. This would be relevant only for the very weakest spacesuit you get at the very beginning of the game(like the Deep Mining Spacesuit). These small bonuses are probably not worth the points for most character builds. NOTE: While weapon mods will change the appearance of your weapons, spacesuit mods will not.
    There is one significant positive for this skill. If you have Spacesuit Design 3 & Special Projects 1, you can change the type of Boost pack(i.e. Basic to Balanced) if you find a pack with great Legendary buffs.

    • @Skyblade12
      @Skyblade12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also mod them with buffs that make them more stealthy, which is nice because space suits are heavy armor and make it much harder to sneak normally.
      Also, the pack can be modded to regen your health and the helmet has some decent scanner and O2 mods.

    • @Zayphar
      @Zayphar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Skyblade12 The O2 buff is ok, the regen is weak, and the scanner ability is weak enough not to be useful in most concievable combat or exploration situations. Also, you should never try to sneak with a spacesuit on, I have never been able to make it work even with the Gravitic Composites installed in both my spacesuit and helmet.
      I also have tested a maxed out spacesuit & helmet with standard shielding mods installed in slot 1, and heavy shielding mods installed in slot 3. This difference in the time it takes for an enemy to kill you with this maxed out is about 1 second.☹[That is a total defensive buff with all possible mods of about +5%🤮]
      While Weapon Engineering can add awesome offensive power to your build[S Tier; would definitely recommend the full 4 ranks], Spacesuit Design is really not worth either the skill points or the time and resources(for research) you need to spend.
      There is only 1 exception to this rule. If you find a basic Boost Pack with truely amazing Legendary buffs, you can upgrade it to a Balanced Boost Pack if you have Spacesuit Design 3 AND Special Projects 1. That circumstance is so rare I can't imagine spending skill points just to be prepared IF that happens.

    Unlocking all research for weapons and suits takes a lot of diverse materials. Do yourself a favor and get a blue lab suit which you've already come across in missions and some synapse alpha and use it each time you come back from a run to get materials to unlock the research tree for either one. The suit and meds make Sudden Developments more likely to occur and saves a bunch of time running around and hunting for materials. Contrary to popular belief, the vendors do not have "everything" and you often spend long hours hopping from one vendor to another trying to find some the upgrade materials you need. Some they don't sell at all... The "Sudden Developments" make unlocking all a lot easier, though I would never suggest putting any skill points in whichever skill that is. ESO's right, once they're all unlocked they're wasted points. The upgrades you can put on both weapons and suits are awesome. My favorite so far is the Old Earth Shotgun, Once it's fully modded with slugs and High Power mods it hits for 579 damage per hit and is also silenced. AT least it's 579 at my skill level with Ballistics skill maxed. It's fun sneaking around with it without a stock with that big silencer on it. Reminds me of the movie "No Country for Old Men..."

    To deal with limited vendor credits, you can also buy a lot of their other stuff after selling the first bunch of weapons to them, then they have more credits available right away. Maybe enough to sell them another weapon. It's either that, or wait until they reset.

    Making items or upgrading items that cost more than 5K-15k credits is pointless as no vendor has more than that to buy an item. Even if you wait 48 UT hours to refresh the vendor, they will not have more credits than their limit. So, any item that costs more than the 5K that is typical for most vendors, it just a dead loss to the player.
    Of course, if an item has a cost of less than 5K, upgrading that weapon with crafting will be worthwhile, up to the usual limit of the vendor's cash on hand.

      @@Lan_Hoa Listen to the examples that ESO uses. Many of them were worth more than 20K. Some a lot more than 20K. Even if you do the Neon Vendor two-step, you can only sell to the 3 vendors on Neon who are willing to buy weapons(out of 12), upgrading a weapon worth 22K to be worth 27K just so you can sell it to the Neon weapon vendor who will only have a max of 15K is a net loss for the player; both in time, money and resources spent. This only makes sense when you have cheap early game weapons that cost 4K or less. When you do the Neon vendor two-step it is better to just sell the weapon, pocket your credits and move on down the line.
      No matter how expensive a single looted weapon is, 95% of the time you will only be able to get 5K-10K for it.

  • @gmflash88
    @gmflash88 ปีที่แล้ว

    While I love your content going back a long time, this video leaves out a lot of info that people may deem valuable. 1) you mention leveling the crafting skill but leave out that the XP earned isn't enough to actually get the needed skill points to utilize the unlocked skills and 2) your tip of adding a cheap modification doesn't math out correctly. You state that adding mod X adds 1000 credits to the value of the weapon, but that's not what you'll be able to sell it for. Someone else can correct me but I believe you get roughly 0.10x of the value returned as credits when selling. So putting 25 credits worth of materials into a mod that increases value by 1000 credits is really only "worth" 100 credits. Is it an increase, absolutely. But it's not the amount you're presenting it to be. I personally don't find it worth the TIME to do that to the weapons since you need to acquire the materials (buy, loot, farm, etc), craft the mod, and so on. Especially considering it usually takes me 2-3 vendors to offload my stuff for sale after every mission anyway since none of them have any $ lol!

Modding weapons does increase the value on selling them, but no gun sells for anywhere near its face value as shown In The game.

    The resource economy in Starfield is majorly screwed up, there is ZERO need to harvest resources by hand or build outposts to generate them, you can literally BUY every resource in the game, dirt cheap at most vendors. In fact, you can usually clean out an entire vendor's stock for just a few thousand credits. So why waste time with all the long and boring harvesting mechanics when you can skip all that and just buy everything you need dirt cheap.

    So much half truths in this video... You didnt make 27,000 'profit' at all. The difference between weapon value on your inventory and sale price even with max commerce is like 80%. Coupled with the many infinite storage containers and the fact that the main roadblock to credits is the 2 day wait not lack of high value gear to sell I would say not one of your best.
