As you mentioned this Indian Mindset of basking in Wealth at the expense of the poor has always played on my conscience. Am in my seventies/my story is of a Rags to Riches/private jets/domestic help bothered me. Animals have better treatment than humans be it a dog or cows in India. Some years ago an Indian Lady diplomat was also punished by a US Court for ill treating her Indian domestic help. Being a diplomat India Govt managed to get her back to India without serving her sentence.
And the entire Indian media were up in arms because when the diplomat was arrested, she was subjected to standard physical searches. And the diplomat said that this was discrimination as she should not be treated like the criminal she actually was. She played victim and the entire media fell for it, hook, line and sinker: crying discrimination, racism and so forth.
She was a criminal
Don't talk rubbish . Devyani Khobragade was framed by her maid and falsely accused . Servants are not always right . The fashion in which Devyani Khobragade was treated , was despicable and totally against the law . America which criticizes others , went against the law and has still not apologized till date .

@@tapsars7911 She deserves it. US courts looked into the agreement of pay and mode of payment and they never paid the amount in the agreement. If she's in India , then bureaucracy would save her. But in us they stripped naked and searched the body holes. That they deserve.
They forgot that Switzerland is not like India...they take human rights violations very seriously... India should learn from this

I just want to put my opinion in this ‘Hindujas’ matter. I think it’s not only the money that matters, the main problem is humanity which people have lost over the days or years .One of my very close family members , he is ready to donate all his money to charity after death but at the same time he is not going to pay the full salary to his house maids (or helpers whichever you say )for not coming to work for two three days .When the most needy person is in front of you and working hard day and night to gain money for living , you can’t even see or feel his/her pain but you are ready to pay in charity for which you are not even sure whether it will go into the right hands.I feel that we are priviledged that we are born in a family where we have not faced poverty , it might have been the other way round, we might have been the ones. who would have been working in the priviledged ones’ houses.If all of us place ourselves in the other person’s position before judging the person or treating badly with him/ her , I think it wiil be easy for us to show humanity to the other person , to give him all the things he deserves and treat him like one of us who has got everything we have got except money.Sorry for such a long comment and thank you once again🙏🏻
