This is wonderful! Super helpful for new owners and prospective owners to help navigate public charging. One of the biggest things, that you cover well, is the max charging rate for a particular vehicle and particular station. It is NOT the same as a gas station where the fuel goes into the car at the same flow rate. The analogous flow rate for EV chargers depends on its max flow rate (marked on the charger like 100kW or 350kW...etc) and the max that the particular vehicle can accept (this is usually NOT marked on the car and there is simply NO WAY TO TELL! -usually). You have to Google it! Kyle tells folks all the time and this is hard to understand, dealerships have a hard time with this as well.

This was very helpful video. Thank you. I just got an EV went to charge at a EVgo by my house and it didn’t work but I think it was me not the machine. People charge their all the time and so does my neighbor. So I found this very helpful

Good Job Ryan having this colleague do this part. EVgo IS The most expensive out there for daily/weekly usage, about same in Calif.13-17 per sessh.

I’ve had great luck with EVgo using Autocharge on my Bolt EUV. Other than taking a bit longer than I’d like to actually start, it works really really well. I always use EVgo when traveling over other networks if there’s a choice.

How ‘bout that…I didn’t know I could set up plug-n-charge on our Mach-e for EVgo. Going to find a station tomorrow and give it a try. More EA stations in this part of the country, but always good to have options.

Just a quick note - it’s kWh, not kW, that’s being passed to the battery.

Thanks for the video. I downloaded the EVGO app and it looks like I will need to join a plan like $7/month to be able to use their charger. Hope I missed something there 😂

If you have an official Tesla ccs adapter do you have to babysit your car when you're charging so nobody steals your adapter? And if they do steal your adapter does your ev go auto charge billing follow your adapter or your vehicle?

Does anyone have a realistic of firm estimate on how much battery degradation would occur on the 2022 Chevy Bolt battery is you charged say
for 150 miles from the 50 mile range to the 200 mile range only (ie enough range for 150 miles to be in compliance with the 80/20 rule of charging) and did this say
50 times in 1 year ? (would it be a 2% or 5% or 10% or 15% loss in permanent battery range from DC fast charging battery degradation? )

From what the video shows it seems anyone could walk by and tap the screen to stop the charging of any ev plugged in...
Also with the charge plus if the ev gets stolen the thief would have unlimited automatic charging??

Evgo keeps stoping every 5/10 mins and charging me 2.99 session fee. Anyone else getting scammed by like this? Happened at multiple charge stations in different cities.

it will make your life better by not even trying to charge at a evgone charger in the whole state of FL, they only have 1 site with 350kw chargers in the whole area of south florida and the dispenser always charge at a rate of 80 kw and the rest of the dispensers are broken. The card reader WILL NOT EVER take your credit or debit card, it will take the evgone card, so everything it has to be through the app and if you do not want to open an account, just call them right away and tell them to take your payment over the phone! welcome to EVGONE 2023
