I use the Takumi Sen in 1 mile races through the Marathon. Great shoe. The past participle of RUN is RUN. Has run. Have run.

I’ve had some Takumi Sen 8s (bought for £112 here in the U.K.) since April. I’ve done a 10k race and use them regularly for 5k Parkruns. They’re a bit awkward to put on but are otherwise very light and fast (got within 5 seconds of my PB using them). The grip is excellent in all conditions and the Lightstrike Pro foam gives a smooth ride. At the price I paid, I reckon they’re underrated.

They’re just really fun shoes, aren’t they? And the research and ingenuity is pretty evident once you get your hands on them. I love them.

I have TS8 which is my track shoe for most demanding track sessions. TS8 virtually identical to TS9 except for a couple minor updates to the upper. In fact, I loved my first pair so much that when I found them at 60% discount, I bought 2 more pairs. I like the performance of full length Lightstrike Pro in these over Adios Pro 3.
My two complaints would be shoelaces and the overly thin and the outsole in the heel which is wearing out for me over abrasive track surface. I would rather have an outsole of Adios 8 with these. That would be perfect combination for me.
To be fair they are not designed as a training shoe. The priority was reduction of weight for 5k/10k racing while still providing traction but this is how I use them.

That's a great question! I should have one out in the next few weeks. That's my favorite shoe!

I see your feet crashing inwards. Not too much stability?

Definitely not a stability shoe, but at intervals and fast repetitions, it’s not an issue, in my opinion.

They are a narrowish shoe especially at the midfoot and heel but have ample toebox. Stability a slower speed could be issue for some. At speed when you are landing midfoot to forefoot the narrow heel is less of an issue. At least for me.

I run the Takumi sen 8…My only gripes is narrow heel and mis foot area..aside from that, it’s great shoe..Lightstrike Pro is an amazing foam..as for now, for the same purpose, the Takumi Sen 8 or Adios 8 would be a better bargain..I can’t wait for Takumi Sen 10..I hope they change the last by using the Adios 8 last

Do yourself a favour and swap these laces out for regular 8mm laces.

i am very disappointed that the mesh upper on my takumi 9 sens split in both insteps after just 210km/ 4 months of use. this is a premium product retailing at £170! Adidas rejected my warranty claim giving no more information other than to refer to the t&c of the returns policy which is frankly rude and can in no way be viewed as acceptable customer service. My assumption is that the warehouse deemed that i was using the shoe for other than 'running' which is completely incorrect. i feel cheated by what i would have considered one of the premium sports brands
