I have the Green, Cooper, and Rosata species. I have them growing in full sun. Morning sun and afternoon sun. They only get full sun for a few hours. What I have realized is when they are not in full sun the leaves and stems are much smaller and thinner but, when they are in the sun, in due time, the stems and leaves get thicker and stronger. I really love this plant. They are very easy to propagate. I have 5 pots of propagating rosatas. I started all of them from a small batch of the plant. Thank you for sharing.
I find this plant's very difficult to grow here in the States. I live in Seattle, WA. The weather here not suited. It's get cold and snow. Even indoor. I bought mine from bunnings, and I accidentally over watered it because it was in moss medium, so I took out all the wet material and replaced with succulent mix. I'm drying it out outside now... Let's hope I didn't kill it.
You can only try Amanda. I find that yellow and white variegate normally dies off or doesn't take but pink can still absorb chlorophyll and have in the past propagated with a pink leaf/stem. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Liz
I’ve had my callisia for a few months and it’s grown amazing (it’s kind of trailing) but the bottoms of all the stems are drying and dropping leaves, what can I do please?
It depends where you are Aneesah. They grow fairly quick during spring and summer and will slow down or stop growing in winter. During winter or at the end of winter, callisia tend to dry up. I would leave them till springtime or when the weather warms up. That is the best time to snap them off and plant them in new pots for propagation. Good luck.
What soil is best for potting indoors for this plant? I just bought my first one and the soil is a dense earthy soil with no perlite or draining material mixed in. Does anyone have a good soil mix recipe for potting indoors with this plant?

Hi Danielle, This plant doesn't like too much watering. It prefers to dry out between watering. I tried watering a pot once a week and it died on me and the ones that I've neglected and only watered when I remember are all thick and thriving. Hi Brenna, That was the same thing that happened with the first lot I propagated. But after putting it outside late summer(it's now autumn here), it's now growing really well. I water it every second or third day whenever the pot feels light. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Liz

It’s such a shame that it can cause so much damage. I started to grow Purple Heart plant as it’s a good companion plant if you are growing cabbage and cauliflower they help each other out 😹😹😹 Thank you for sharing this plant with us and the problems it can cause if I ever see it I might get some to place in a hanging basket as I think it will do well in it and looks like it could be a great ground cover in some flower beds too 😊😊😊

You can repot anytime except in winter. I use my own soil mix but you can also use premium potting mix with pumice.

Bright indirect light is key to bringing out the color. Good luck.
