Lego Zoo Mountain Fortress Castle on the Hill

- I have finally built a castle to put on the hill at the entrance to the Zoo - what better set than the recently released Bricklink Mountain Fortress designed by Sleeplessnight.
This castle fits almost perfectly on the hill I already build at the back of the otter exhibit and there are only a few tweaks I need to make to help this castle fit right in. What's next? Designing the medieval themed birds of prey area to accompany this epic structure.

I love how well the mountain fortress looks on the hill! That turned out fantastic. I agree that the snow has got to go, but what a sight right from the car park. Really like the new layout too. 👍
a very beautiful fort
So exciting to see the fortress built and moving into the zoo! The portcullis, draw bridge, and other moving features are really neat - it does look like a complex build. It’s also cool to see how you have moved things around in the zoo as the wider plan develops. I look forward to seeing other new videos you can manage it. I can only imagine how very busy the zoo is over the summer! Take care happy building! Hello to all the animals and other staff at the real zoo.
Thank you so much, it has been a lonnnnggg summer! Pleased to be back in the Lego Zoo! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
If you are going to raise the castle up a bit you can use that extra height to help blend in the snow. I think it adds a bit of variety to the look of the zoo and would allow you to transition to more cold climate enclosures on the back side of the hill from the car park.
I do love the placement and new orientation. The castle fits perfectly and looks great. Love the idea of using it as a bird of prey encounter.
I know what you mean about the different colour changing… let me think on this one! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
You might want to switch out parts of the castle, to make it look a bit dilapidated? Like, to suggest it's an old, reasonably maintained castle, moreso than the "It's a castle from castle times" look the base set has. Add bits of vine, missing parts of wall.
But also that might be a needless amount of extra work for an ultimately minor part of the build, so if you wanna keep it like this it does still work
That’s a great idea - would love to modify the castle and make it unique!
A great video and Lego asmr is one? Love this series, keep doing it!
Perfekt
I've seen that LEGO app, but haven't used it for building yet, I have that to look forward to when I build my Mountain Fortress. Cool, looks impressive. The Castle looks great. The whole time you were building the little river on it I missed your herring bone pattern, lol. If you modify it to flow into the otter exhibit consider that mod. As for the snow... As is now, I agree it doesn't look right next to all that green, but if you are going to elevate it further, you could make it work by transitioning from lush to frost. Disneyland in Californa keeps its Matterhorn white-capped year-round without a flake of real snowfall to be had, so a frigid moutain fortress certainly wouldn't be the strangest sight in a zoo. I dunno if/how a winter theme plays with a bird of prey exhibit, so that may be part of your consideration too.
Anyway, another good video. I think that wooden lookout tower by the car park, is new. I hope to see a video about that addition. Final bit - That dungeon dude is supposed to be the King from the Lion Knight Castle (set 10305) captued by the Black Falcons. Show some respect. 😉 LOL Or don't. It's your zoo. HA!
Great vid as always
Thank you! 🙏🏻
As you were walking through from the car park, up the hill, talking about removing a section of wall then onto the draw bridge, that sounded like a near perfect path to access the birds of prey. Up on top of the mountain might offer a great vantage point for falconry exhibitions and whatnot.
The zoo is looking better and better every video. Keep up the excellent work!
Yep that sounds great, looking forward to getting started on this now that the busy summer holidays are over! 😬😎
Great build and it looks great in your zoo. ❤
I love the app. I don’t even know the last time I used the paper directions…Especially when they include the 3D view. So much easier to see some pieces.
It is awesome - I’ll deffo be using it more!
"why does your zoo have a prisoner....?" 😂
Also, you could maybe just bring the walkway around the outside of the castle to the front gate? You'd have to build up a little more ground but I think it could be cool!
😂 I feel like it’s something all zoos should consider? 🤷🏻♀️ If I get another visitor trying to feed the Lemur’s Haribo then I am busting out the ball and chain.
@@ZooBricks Gotta do what you gotta do, especially for the health and safety of the critters under your care! 😂💕
