So you don’t need blade open but you might need to push it open to pit properly on tps line it up. The clips are a pain but I just put it on tps first then use flat head on the other side of clip. Flat on top and two handed in on. Hope that make sense. Then you need to do relearn procedure. 3min on 1 min off x2 Rpm’s will shoot up to like 3k but it will go down if all is well. Hope this helps.
Personally, I think you should every time. Four easy screws to access. Comes right out. Clean with throttle body spray. If your going to do it. Do it right.
Replaced this part after it showed codes relating to it and after following the whole TH-cam videos and following the relearn video my idle is now at 1500 rpm cold or warm, and if I hit the gas it goes up to 2000 and sticks until I put it in drive. While I’m driving it feels like it works against me while braking cause of high rpm. Any tips?
Around 2006-07 there seem to be multiple throttle position sensor setups on these and it's hard to look up exact info on what goes with what if you haven't looked under the hood. I have a 2006 4.8 with the sensor that looks like this. Some of them around the same time seem to be the kind in your other video where you have to remove the alternator to get to it. The type that look like this are sometimes held on with these clips, and seomtimes they are riveted on and the replacement parts come with bolts. For the riveted version of this, does anyone know if I can do it without removing the vehicle or does the open blade issue require that you take out the throttle body to change the sensor?

For all those why open blade....it then will line up shaft of motor with the slotted hole in the assembly when you put it on.
Will a faulty TBPS cause shifting delays, rpm jumps etc?
This video was great. It help me change the throttle sensor and programmed it like he said. Good job on this video
Thank you, this was exactly what I needed for my '08 silverado

Fantastic video, thank you! I lucked out, my idle improved instead of running too high.
One of the reasons I don’t like this channel is because they don’t ever answer any questions
My 2008 gmc sierra threw a engine power reduced and I’m hoping this is the issue
What happens if I don’t hold blade open while putting the sensor on
Do you have to replace the throttle body gasket? Can you just wipe the old one down and put it back on?
What he didn’t tell you is if you vehicle is running at 2,500 rpm idel and you throw it in drive you’ll be spend a lot more in a transmission rebuild

Thanks for the video. This was helpful.
Many thanks for you, bro
Will a bad TPS cause the cruise control to noy work? Ive already installed a new brake pedal switch, but cruise wont engage
Can anyone tell me what to do if i didnt hild the throttle plate open the first time i took it out of the truck? PLEASSSSSE HELP!!!
Why would you open the throttle? I did that and now my idle is running at 3k rpm’s and is way off. Nothing I do is leveling it out.
Great video

You dont have to take the whole throttle body out
Thanks 🙏🏼
How often do these sensors go out
What if you do this without opening the throttle??
Does it have a iac valve
Good 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Did you say 89 inch pounds 😵😓
Ty
Why with the throttle blade open
My check engine light goes on while idling...and goes off st 25mph...it's a new throttle body and has been programmed..
👍👍👍
