      +Raukawahine77 you're a fuckin moron. the 'gateway' drug bullshit has been disproven over and over. notice your 'caps lock talk'....emotional arguments instead of logica based ones. go peddle your bullshit elsewhere. nobody is going to buy your bullshit.

    • @evilpandakillabzonattkoccu4879
      @evilpandakillabzonattkoccu4879 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      ***** more unfounded bullshit. likely his first encounter with any substance was with....wait for it.....caffeine...the world's most commonly used psychoactive and addictive drug. if you smoke cigarettes, drink wine occasionally and drink a coffee a day...then you take more drugs than i do and they are far harsher than anything i take.
      your 'reefer madness' bullshit doesnt fool anybody. i live in a state where medical marijuana (which im a patient) has been legal for years even for children....and now, recreational marijuana is legal. what were the results of legalizing marijuana in my state? good question (which is likely why it didnt cross your mind to ask)...
      ..the answer....in Washington state, after one year of legalization, studies have found: *Major Fiscal Benefits, Decrease in Violent Crime, No Increase in Youth Marijuana Use or Traffic Fatalities - And Massive Drop in Marijuana Arrests* (source - www.drugpolicy.org/news/2015/07/marijuana-legalization-washington-state-one-year-status-report )
      imagine that. when marijuana is legalized recreationally, the world not only doesnt fall apart but it works a bit better. again, nobody buys your bullshit nor do they buy your emotionally driven arguments. all of your arguments are all founded in ignorance and it's painfully obvious.

    • @subtractivemagic
      @subtractivemagic 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Raukawahine77 How do you know it wasn't alcohol he tried first? Or pills from his parents medicine cabinet? Lots of people do those before they ever smoke pot. I've seen far more people try hard drugs like coke,meth, and opiates for the first time after heavy drinking then after they smoked pot. I know plenty of pot smokers who have never touched anything else. I know plenty of people who've done coke or gotten into popping pills who never smoked weed. The "gateway drug" argument has no weight. The same type of argument makes a far more compelling case for alcohol or even more so caffeine being the actual gateway drug.

    I'm a fan of STP from day 1, bought Core when it was first released, even before I heard the jokes people had about it. The 2 biggest bands in the world at the time were Nirvana & Pearl Jam, and SNL made fun, specifically David Spade made fun of STP saying it sounded like Pearl Jam, I can vaguely hear Eddie Vedder's inspiration in Plush's chorus but every single other STP song sounds nothing like Pearl Jam. People wrote them off because Plush was their first big single. I bought every STP album until the end and despite what losers say and think, STP is one of the great rock bands of the 90s, up there with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins.

    • @NoGasProductions
      @NoGasProductions 7 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      I think it takes a vocal genius to sound like both Kurt Cobain AND Eddie Vedder on the same album. People can say what they want about Core, but it was a more solid album than Nevermind and Ten (yes, I said it lol) and if anything, it was really smart and really talented to be able to match the sound of the two biggest bands at the time.

    I love these interviews with Mustaine. I remember seeing Megadeth in New Orleans, LA on the Countdown to Extinction tour with STP opening. First of all, both bands were totally on their game and it was a wonderful show. Secondly, it's cool to hear here that Mustaine helped them with their setlist because I remember one thing in particular here that he references...STP opens the show with Crackerman (one of my fave STP songs) and Weiland is using the bullhorn. Me and my friends are watching this thinking "WTF...I dunno...I just know I dig it." The fact that Mustaine started waving the flag for them and helping them at a time when MTV and so many critics were dogging them...it just speaks volumes.

      It's cuz the STP guys came from a hard rock background, not punk rock like most of the early underground grunge brands, so they put a lot more emphasis on clean musicianship than bands like Mudhoney or Nirvana did.
      STP were immediately signed to a major label instead of working their way up through the underground, and I think the types of bands who get immediately signed to majors tend to be the ones who are more career-oriented and disciplined enough to work on polishing up their musicianship.
      Soundgarden probably were the most musically complex grunge band though, cuz lots of their songs used deceptively off-kilter time signatures.

    Leave it to Dave Mustaine to really lay it out out there. Keeping it real and making a few profound comments on Scott Wieland's addiction and the record / management money machine that kept him out there touring and performing when clearly should've been forced to complete a lengthy drug rehab program.
    "No song, no amount of money is worth a human life"
    Also "As much as the onus is on Scott there are other people that are responsible for that."
    The handlers (AKA the management company) knew what Scott was like and kept him going to keep the revenue rolling in despite his condition. Yes Scott is also responsible for himself BUT if you are an addict and you have a team of people keeping you performing and on the road (which keeps you accessible to drugs) you will NEVER get clean or stop.
    That's pretty much what happened in the case of Scott Weiland.
    Good stuff. Truth.

    I've been a heroin addict since 2006 but started like most do just popping a few vicodin on the weekends to relax.W hat this drug has put me through is just god awful. I've probably spend a good 5 years of that time dope sick if you add up all the days and withdrawal is hell on earth. I have scars all over from infections and suicide attempts and still i live in fear that something's going to happen where I can't get my methadone. "I'm 35 and live with my mom in the UK where treatment is free, but I've lost everything, EVERYTHING! she flew me out here after I put myself in a coma for the 3rd time" This drug takes your soul and shits all over it

      +LAYUCHEBI it's a Euphoria, if you go from not using straight to heroin , you're gonna fuckin od cause u got no tolerance, just about everypne starts off like I did, just popping them pharma's like hydrocodone, have you ever had Dilaudid in the hospital after a surgery? that's the same shit. actually even as a 10+ year junkie, I still preferred hydromorphone to heroin, thsts Dilaudid. the rush you get from IV is intense. it's like busting nut but over your entire body , goes down your spine. it's pure bliss for about 15 seconds but man, it becomes ALL ALLLLLL ABOUT getting well and staying well as long as possible, running from withdrawal is all it becomes, u shoot up just to get unsick u don't even get high anymore. shit I hadn't had a good nod since like 2009

      +LAYUCHEBI but I'm doin loads better , I'm down to 60mg methadone and on a taper, I got fucking awesome friends on tumblr that talk me thru shit and are always there for me, real friends. emphasis on real! u can't beat it by yourself. I've also come out about my molestation as a kid by my father and I hadn't spoken about that shit to anyone. probably the root of all my fucked up problems. no doubt ... so yeah been doin alot of self discovery, learning to trust people and open up. it's a long uncomfortable process, but shit will change unless you're willing to do those kinds of things. thanks for your concern mate. Lemmy never tried it because a girl he loved died by the needle, if I'm not mistaken.

      The funny thing is that they were probably doing the same before the set-list advice as after. Or if they improved with the audience, other factors may have been involved. But Dave, before the advice, was probably sitting there all anxious and frustrated, and after the advice was probably standing on the side, watching with a father like pride over the child he helped raise. Suddenly, after the great advice, they were doing fabulous. Thanks Dad, I mean Dave.
      Now that he's dead, way to get one last ego boost out of it.
