I actually saw that movie on TV when I was in middle school or so. I used to scan the paper for war movies & such. My folks wouldn't let us watch tons of tube. "After the homework!" and all. But i couldn't miss that Title!! And I recognized Falk as the wise-ass TV detective(Columbo). It was 35+ yrs ago, I remember liking it ok. A little disappointed it wasn't 90 min.s of guys firing machine guns. But... I was middle-school, don't recall soundtrack, but ....sounds good now!
Tarantino introduced me to this film back in 2002 when I went to his Austin Film Festival that he hosted. He paired it with the mercenary film, Dark Of The Sun
Not to my knowledge but the song is specific to Machine Gun McCain. I can’t think of a great use in an actual Tarantino movie unless he actually makes me rich by buying my screenplay about newly-unemployed video store employees circa 2009 who plot actual badass heists based on classic movies.

The ballad theme has a bit of an old Bondish element to it. A nice touch to it. Loving it!
I had the same sensation !! As I am fond of first Bond theme that's why I like it so much !!!!!!
Morricone owned the 1960's

John Cassavetes plays a great gangster. Love his street talk accent.
Great soundtrack. "The Ballad of Hank McCain" is a great example of the themes composed for action films in the 1960's.
BEST MOVIE EVER!!!
I just saw it and was not impressed but it’s the kind of movie that a better movie might masterfully rip off.
Too ✌️😎👍Viva Morricone❣️
The move was instantly forgettable but the song was unforgettable.
Musique superbe
No man ever was nor ever will be like the man called Hank McCain.
I prefer this movie over "Ocean's Eleven". Morricone's score is part of the reason for that.
Now has a place in American History Forever. JOHN McCain. Brian Koller
Hank McCain!
Flyyyyy togheter
This song is so goddamn Tarantino.
Has he ever used it?

@@arctic6650 that is an awesome triple feature! I’m assuming he made them project 35mm prints for each?
