- We recently looked at what happens when you send Nintendo an email in the year 2023. This left myself and many others curious regarding what sending Nintendo a physical letter in the modern day might look like. Will they write back revealing all of their deepest secrets? Will Parakarry lose it on Mt. Rugged? Will the letter be incinerated by Fire Mario? Today we find out once and for all!
Check out the prequel to this video where I look at emails I sent to Nintendo in 2006:

I like that they specifically gave you a Wario bookmark
Right? It's awesome that they put some thought into the included items! Thank you for watching. :)
@@TheGameDisplay - We'd include "swag" with most every letter we got. When the letter was sent out from our department to send, it'd go to the print shop first where they'd print up some bookmarks or postcards to include.
We could put a note in, though, directing the print shop to provide specific swag, or making sure that items with certain characters were sent in.
Personally, I'm a massive fan of The Legend of Zelda, so any Zelda letters that came in got the full three pieces of swag, and totally zelda themed. When I was there, it was mostly Skyward Sword stuff.
Nintendo has said multiple times that physical letters are the best for giving feedback. In fact, I've heard nintendo employees say that they ignore almost all online activity, but if you organized a physical letter campaign, you could get them to make almost anything.
@@Joker22593 brb gonna go harass Nintendo to bring back Mario and Luigi.
I’m joking. Kind of
@@SquirrelMarionah we needa new mario and Luigi game
I think in 2017 I sent Nintendo a letter asking for Mario Galaxy 3. They not only responded but also gave me a Mario keyring. It was so wholesome to get a personal letter from a massive company.
Wow! That's super cool. Unfortunately no Super Mario Galaxy 3 yet, but maybe someday! Still, receiving a reply is really special. Thank you so much for watching. :)
Now I wonder if Capcom reads postal fan mail.
Why the fuck would you not write what the response was
I have a friend that mailed Nintendo and got a letter back. It was about wanting Tomodachi life to return. They acknowledged her request but said there was no plans for it. She also got a Splatoon bookmark
That's awesome! It's great to hear that others have also had success with sending Nintendo a letter in the modern day. Thank you for watching! :)
Y'know what, I do respect their honesty about it.
Awwww, I really wanted it to return.
I want that bookmark.
Time to send a letter
Nintendo is just the weirdest company out there, and I love it. It’s such a massive corporation that can seem so heartless sometimes, but then you can have a personal conversation that feels human just by sending a letter to them.
its because nintendo has some really cool people, but also some really uncool people.
Nintendo isn't a person but many people. Leo here is pretty cool
What the fuck, this comment is so brain dead it hurts. Corporations aren't individuals, it's a group of people with the sole purpose of earning money, just because there's a few passionate people in a rotten bin doesn't make it 'human'
in 2019 i sent an email to nintendo about how a new splatoon 2 splatfest could be like, and THEY ACTUALLY ADDED IT AS THE FINALE. i was so happy and hell even splat 3 is based after what won
Isn't it amazing when that thing you want actually become a reality! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
Funny that they’re like “why don’t you try writing your ideas in your own journal and show your friends just so you don’t have to keep sending us letters”.
I personally saw it more as them inviting competition, like "write your own ideas so you can eventually make them a reality yourself". So long as it's in the form of an original IP, if course.
@@LucasRCD thats a more wholesome way to take it
Thats some wholesome, even humble, personal communication from Nintendo. They respect their audience.
It's wonderful to see that Nintendo still has a department to respond to personal letters like this! It definitely leaves a good impression. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
But they don't in a lot of ways. Cancelling fan-games etc...
@@yuimanix5220 Fan games do not apply. Nintendo has the right to defend their intellectual properties whether you like it or not. I’m not saying it’s good, I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just stating the truth.
For once
They just gave us crappy games in the direct to make Mario Wonder a surprise. It freaking worked.
Nice justified paragraph with that spaced out line... DEVELOP..... YOUR..... TALENT.....
Haha, I had no idea what to make of that. Nintendo calling me out for my lack of talent. The odd justified spacing made it even better. XD
The "next time, write your ideas in a notebook!" Looked like a "shut the f up" to me 💀
Given how much they lectured you on proper presentation on letters at NOA, I'm surprised that got through!
@@dolari I hope no one gets in trouble because of me. I appreciate it all the same! :D
If the newly announced Super Mario RPG remake is any indication, nothing is impossible with Nintendo. They just may make a new one if the interest and demand is there.
Still shocked by the Mario PG remake! Definitely not something I ever would have imagined. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
I have actually noticed that Nintendo does a really good job at responding to physical fan mail. And I think the reason for that is due to how easy it is to just throw a tweet or an email in their direction that anyone can do it. As such, those things just get drowned out by everyone else. But a formal letter take more effort and time that few are willing to do these days, so it stands out a lot more, and Nintendo likely recognizes that you went out of your way to write them a formal letter that they feel obligated to send a response. Just goes to show that there's still a place for formal letter writing in todays age.
Thank you, TH-cam, for recommending this to me. Hopefully this will encourage people to send in letters, since it seems Nintendo genuinely takes what they say into consideration.
And thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment on it! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
The fact they responded is insane
I'm quite shocked myself! Thank you so much for watching. :)
There's a whole team responding to them!
My brother and I wrote a letter to Nintendo (of Europe) back in the 90s and also got a reply that I still have. We didnt ask for games, but since we read the Club Nintendo magazine every month, we added our "top 5" games of the concoles back then and two drawn pictures since they sometimes printed fan arts in the magazine. My brother's even got printed. We also wrote about the big MK64 Rainbow Road shortcut that we discovered ourselves, but they replied something like "congratulations for finding that out, our experts were already aware of that though". They also added Yoshi stickers from Yoshi's Story as thank you for the fan art and those are still on my original N64 from 1997. It's really nice they still do this today and you got a similar reply. :)
Whoa, sounds like an amazing experience! Congratulations to your brother for getting his art printed. I miss the days of find out about and sharing game secrets through magazines, haha. Good times, it's amazing how much things have changed. Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
I completely lost it after the notebook. XD I'm so glad to hear that Nintendo still does mail responses. It goes to show that sending an actual letter is much more meaningful than a regular email.
Really happy you liked the notebook joke! I was afraid only me with my dumb sense of humor would find it funny. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :D
@@TheGameDisplayThere is no more Wario land switch being considered
Yeah but hmm there was something this last Nintendo direct
Wait...don't tell me it's a fanfic joke-
I actually mailed a letter to Nintendo asking what the code to progress in StarTropics was. They happily replied with a full-sized packet envelope with a Nintendo logo on it giving me the code in a thank you letter.
StarTropicsKing! Hope you've been well! That's really cool. I wonder how often they still get asked about that. Since the Switch Online version of StarTropics doesn't come with a manual or digital letter, it's possible that people still go to them for a solution. Thank you for watching! :)
Usually we'd respond with a template, but if the answer was easy to look up and put in a letter we'd tailor the response with an answer. Glad you got the code!
@@dolari this was back before my family had internet access. Used to call the Nintendo hotline all the time.
When I was in the 5th grade we had to send a letter to a company or a celebrity for a project so I chose to send my letter to Nintendo of America. It took about 3 weeks but they ended up sending me a letter back replying to what I asked about and they sent an Animal crossing themed bookmark a Super Mario themed bookmark and a Pikmin keychain. I think it was really cool that they responded to my letter and send me some really cool things to go along with it.
Wow, that's amazing! Really envy everyone who got to send mail to Nintendo as part of a school project. Really nice that Nintendo got back to you and sent you some things! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
I seriously miss when Wario was a Treasure hunter, I’m guessing that since he’s a CEO there’s no point to it anymore. Plus, why is Nintendo too scared to give Waluigi his own game?!
Maybe because waluigi is too chadly?
I had an experience kind of like this when I was a kid, actually. I remember emailing them in the mid 2000s and just having a very fan-boy sentiment. They emailed back and asked for my address so they could send me something. They sent back a card signed by various members of staff from Nintendo of Europe as well as a Nintendo themed USB stick! I'm sure I have the card around somewhere but I know I bricked that USB and it has since been long destroyed haha
Cool to see they still respond to fans!
Wow, you sent them an email and in return they sent you physical items? That's amazing! Sounds like Nintendo of Europe is pretty cool. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
stuff like this is what really convinces me that a lot of the bad things we know nintendo for now are purely the result of their corporate suits.
Absolutely. Big wigs at companies these days so often have no connection to the products they deal with. Reggie and Iwata at least seemed to care about and play video games. The current guys are just businessmen who seem to lack that personal connection. Thank you for watching!
I can’t believe this video doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of views yet. Really hope it gets the attention it deserves. I watched the entire thing and it kept my attention all the way through! 😁
That's really kind of you! Thank you so much. Feel free to share it with your friends or anyone you think might enjoy it! :)
one time as a kid i emailed next level games telling them how much i loved punch-out and also asked what kind of soda that soda popinski drinks--they actually replied and they said he has several flavors on rotation, which i'm sure is just somebody BSing an answer for a kid but that's what i believe now in my heart of hearts :)
Haha, that's amazing! Very kind of them to take the time to answer like that. Thank you so much for watching and sharing that memory! :)
The Virtual Boy WarioLand should have been on the 3DS in 3D.
So good that they responded with two Wario's, I would frame that haha.
Right? They had the perfect opportunity to release Virtual Boy games on the 3DS Virtual Console and they didn't take it. That will forever be disappointing. And it is so cool that they put thought into the items they included with the reply! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
That Wario bookmark is so cool! That's such a cute touch that they went out of their way to find a Wario-specific gift for you. 😊
Right? It was awesome that they did that! Thank you for watching. :)
I sent Nintendo several letters back during the Wii U days when I was younger, and I remember being over the moon about getting a response each time. Each letter was so thoughtful and charming, and they even gave me a Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario Maker bookmark.
This was a fantastic video, and brought back a lot of memories for me. I might send them another letter now-you’ve inspired me!
That's awesome! It's so wonderful to hear that Nintendo was able to brighten peoples' days like that. Thank you for sharing those memories, and all the best if you write them another letter! :)
There is a game that takes quite a bit of inspiration from the Wario Land games called ANTONBLAST coming out on Switch this year. I’ve been really excited for it. Recently played the Steam exclusive demo and it’s probably one of the best 2D platformers I’ve played, and there are only 2 levels in the demo!
Lots of people have been mentioning Pizza Tower, but I just checked out Antonblast and wow it looks great! I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it. And I love that it's getting a Switch release, something Pizza Tower doesn't have. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
@@TheGameDisplay Interesting that you should say that. The creators of both Pizza Tower and ANTONBLAST have acknowledged each other with Easter eggs, and in the case of Antonball Deluxe (an arcade style breakout game with Wario Land physics), even a playable character.
I really want a new Wario Land/World. I love the Wario Ware games but Wario Land is where I became an actual fan of Wario and it sucks that it hasn't had a new entry in over 15 years. I'd even accept a remake of one of the games to generate interest for a new one. I hope soon that happens.
When the original WarioWare came out I played it so much. It quickly became one of my favorite games! Little did I know it would eventually kill off another series I absolutely loved. At this point whether it's a remake or all new game, I just hope we see Wario Land again someday! Thank you for watching. :)

Honestly I’d love to just see a port of VB wario land on switch.

These two videos and all the comments have motivated me to call Nintendo about an issue I have been having with my 3DS!
I hope they can assist you! Thank you so much for watching these videos. :)
i once mailed a letter to Nintendo asking to put super mario world on the switch (this is before it was) and they sent me a letter back. it said something similar and they sent me a pokemon bookmark and that same mario card
That's awesome! I wonder how many different bookmarks they can choose from to send. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
I actually have a whole notebook devoted to video game ideas 😭
That's really awesome! I used to love drawing out levels and ideas that I had for video games as well. Who ever said that video games were bad for your imagination? XD
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. :)
If only they weren’t so butthurt when it came to actually making those ideas into reality by creating fan games.
In high-school we were tasked with sending letters to someone, i sent miyamoto a leter that asked if they were going to make majoras mask 3d, i even tried (and most likely failed horribly) to write it in Japanese so he wouldn't need a translator. I didn't get a reply but two years later they did drop MM3d so it was exciting for me
That's amazing! Sounds like an awesome and practical school project. Nice job trying to write in Japanese, sounds like it was a cool letter. And the fact that Majora's Mask 3D eventually came out makes it even better! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
It was so cool to see them respond to you in much the way they did to me! Nintendo definitely still has some of the personal touch even though the cool perks such as Nintendo Power magazine have gone by the wayside. Never give up hope because several of the ideas I asked them about in letters over the years did end up becoming reality so I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line a new Wario Land does as well! Thanks for sharing this experience Andrew!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! It really is nice to see that Nintendo still does things like this. I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for more Wario Land! :)
I wrote to Nintendo on April 4th earlier this year and got a response in around a month. I did get the same run of the mill response of “Thanks for your feedback, you should write your ideas in a notebook” and that what I was asking about (Mario Kart BCP2) among other things “It did not yet exist and to keep you eye out for further announcements” so I’m happy to know that Nintendo does still respond at least to physical letters and they do acknowledge our requests and concerns for games
Very cool! It's great to see others also getting replies. You wonder if they really do send people's suggestions along to the other teams at Nintendo. It'd be awesome if they do! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
@@TheGameDisplay - We did have the ability to send customer feedback to various departments where it "read and thoughtfully considered." We couldn't really take new game ideas (here's a new character for Star Fox!), but if it's like "I want to see more Daisy in Super Smash Bros" (Which we got a lot of), we'd send the feedback up. Who gets it from there, even I don't know. :)
I recognize that template. Hasn't changed much since I worked in the correspondence department.
My manager at the time didn't like what we called "swag" and was looking into changing it to another name. Looks like he was successful with it now called "promotional item."
Was the paper hand signed? Or a scan of a signature? Both my manager and I were trying to move the department to hand signing our letters (I did when I was in correspondence).
(Also: glad they got the backlog down to a month! It was about three months behind when I was there)
(Also also: I've shared this with some of my former co-workers in the department)
Thank you so much for once again checking out my video! Promotional Item definitely comes across better than Swag. The signature was unfortunately printed, but I understand that personally signing each one would be tough!
A month wasn't long at all to have to wait. They're doing a wonderful job, and I really appreciate the reply! Thank you for sharing the video, and I apologize for any influx in letters that might come from people being inspired by what I did here.
@@TheGameDisplay - I haven't worked for NOA since 2020, so it's not my department to flood anymore! :D
@@dolari Haha! Still don't want to flood your friends too much. XD
What a magical job they have, with the ability to really brighten the days of others. I hope that through seeing the replies here they can tell just how much the work they do means to everyone. :)
The stuff included was really fun! (even if that postcard has awful composition due to using separate renders-)
The postcard is really interesting. Google searching something like "mario character group print" comes up with a bunch of similar images but with the characters in different positions or completely different characters all together. I guess someone at Nintendo just had a field day making a bunch of variations or something. XD
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)
I once got a letter from Nintendo as one of the letters of recognition for Eagle Scout. It was cool.
Nintendo is such an enigma with their PR. One moment, they could be ruining a fan’s life by spitting on their harmless, passionate fan project, and the next, this.
thats the difference between the average people working at nintendo and the men in suits trying to protect their ip
Customer Service and Legal Department are two entirely different beasts.
That's actually so cool! I might ask them for an Animal Crossing: New Leaf HD Port 🤣 Great video!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! That'd be an awesome thing to ask. At the very least they'd probably send you an Animal Crossing bookmark! :)
Honestly with the back to back Wario Land inspired games there are coming out in 2023 I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wario Land in the following years
RIP Waluigi for still not having his own original game.
I sent Nintendo a physical letter, and shockingly, they sent one back. It was regarding the Mariokart dlc and I got a response along the lines of, we aren’t sure of reason behind the choice of dlc, but we’d be happy to forward you and your friends’ wishes of a new Mario kart.
Of course, nothing ever came out of it, but hey, I was only 15 and got really excited so yeah…
I remember I did this during the 3DS days and to my surprise they sent back a E3 Pikachu card and Pokémon channel bookmark.
My Grandmother uses my two Old DS Lites, I guarantee she has more hours on those things then I probably have on my PS4. They are busted and the batteries are fried. One day I saw a letter from Nintendo of America addressed to my grandmother. Apparently she sent them a hand written letter asking how she should go about replacing her DS's, and they sent her a letter back recommending a 2DS. It was funny and cute and I appreciate that they took the time to respond to her. This was 2022.
That's really sweet! Great to hear Nintendo was able to assist her. Hopefully she's enjoying that 2DS! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
Thanks for redirecting me to this video. Very wholesome and humble. Kind from Nintendo to respond to letters, let alone give out extra goodies!
Thank you so much for checking out this video as well! I'm really happy that you enjoyed it, and I agree that's it's awesome Nintendo still does something like this! :)
to people saying stuff like "NO NINTENDO DOES NOT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR FANS" or the other way around.
you have to remember that Nintendo is a company, and companies are generally made up of thousands of employees and executives. There might be lots of people in the company who only care about making a profit, but it's also important to remember there has to be some people there who do care about their audience and their interests, even if they don't get an actual say in the matter of what has to be done.
when someone emails a letter to Nintendo, it's not every single person in the company looking it over and carefully thinking about how to reply, they have certain people in charge of this department, and judging how they reply, these people really care about responding thoughtfully and with love.
i guess the point im trying to make is its important to separate Nintendo as a whole from employees than just work there
Nice video. So they aren't making a Wario Land game now, but you never know. He did say he would let people know. Maybe a letter writing campaign might actually be a way to let Nintendo know we want more Wario Land. Stranger things have happened.
It was amazing to see Nintendo still reply to physical mail after all these years!! And yeah you got the new Wario game: "Wario Land 6: The Bookmark Journey"
Haha, Wario Land 6 is the friends we made along the way. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)

It's awesome to see large companies like Nintendo personally respond to fanmail like they did in this video. I wrote Rovio in around 2012-2013 suggesting new titles in the Angry Birds franchise such as but not limited to: "Angry Birds Star Trek", "Sad Birds", and "Angry Birds Walmart". I got pretty similar response and (funnily enough) even received a so-called post card just like yours, except this time around all of the Angry Birds characters were featured! Idk if they'll still respond today considering the state of the franchise but I guess it would be cool to find out
That's amazing! It's awesome that they replied to you back then. I'm shocked that Nintendo even replies today, so Angry Birds might be a bit of a stretch. But it'd be awesome if they still did! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
"We're proud to announce Sad Birds!"
"Why?"
"Some kid sent a letter asking us to."
I want angry birds walmart.
Angry Birds Walmart, I want that 😂
Wow! I’m glad that they still respond to their fan’s physical letters! Happy to see my comment in the video!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting on both videos! It really is nice to see that they still reply through mail! :)
You just inspired me to write to them, thx! ❤
Thank you for watching! I hope they get back to you. :)
This is just lovely.
I grew up playing all the Wario land games and would love to see a new one myself. A new Wario land and him showing up in a movie played by Danny Devito is all it would take for him to beat out Mario.
Danny Devito as Wario? Woah, I could go for that! Can't wait for the release of Throw Captain Syrup from the Train. Thank you for watching and commenting! :D
Nah Mr Crabs voice actor
No way! This is honestly really unexpected and cool, my respect for their customer service went back up a bit.
It's very nice that they still take the time to reply to people in this way. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
I remember a few years ago, I sent letter to them telling them about another myself and they responded with 2 Bookmarks and a letter. (I’m sure I still have it)
This is honeslty kind of heart-warming! Ive had a bit of a cold shoulder to nintendo for a long while, so its nice to see they still let their employees be human: :)
This is an absolute W from Leo :)
You know even thou they wont currently doing any NEW Wario Land titles, you can still asked them IF they can do any Wario Land Remakes since Super Mario RPG got a remake announced last week, and that was was well demanded to return since the SNES days
The Super Mario RPG remake really shows that anything is possible! Fingers crossed Wario Land can at the very least get a remake at some point. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
I also wish for new Wario Land titles to be released but instead we get another Wario Ware title first as seen in the latest Nintendo Direct.
It would be nice to see a new Wario Land. Seeing Wario try to steal the Bottomless Coin Sack from Captain Syrup would be nice.
Yet it would be cool to see a game starring Bowser. Honestly I think Bowser could work in a sumo wrestling themed game.
I wonder if they could demand Nintendo to port Pizza Tower into the Switch as a stop gap measure?
You know, I once sent a letter, an actual physical letter, to Nintendo regarding characters in the Mario Kart series. I'd like to think making the effort to write out and sense a physical letter, complete with my signature, shows I care about something more compared to an e-mail, even though I HAVE sent e-mails to Nintendo when I was younger. Heck, I actually got responses from those e-mails whereas I don't get that anymore, but I DID get a response to my letter, so clearly, letters speak louder than e-mails when it comes to Nintendo. I forget exactly what Nintendo said in response to my Mario Kart characters letter, but I think it was something along the lines of them keeping in mind my suggestions and recommendations, and also they sent me some bookmarks along with their response, so that was nice. Incidentally, just to make sure my letter looked nice (I get mixed messages about my handwriting), I also typed out my letter and printed it out, then gave it my signature before putting it in the envelope, addressing and stamping it and sending it off. I'd say it would work either way.
I love that you made the subject about Wario Land, though. It makes me want to organize an effort to mail a whole bunch of letters to Nintendo so they can see how many fans want the Wario Land series to return. I saw a group called "Operation Starfall" do it with regards to Super Mario RPG a few years back, and hey, look where that got them! Still, that's going to take a lot of work, and I'm going to have to look into how to go about doing that.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! That's awesome that you have experience getting in touch with Nintendo as well. Fingers crossed that Nintendo does consider fan suggestions, and then maybe this letter and any others could help them realize that there are still a lot of fans of Wario Land out there. :)
If I were to write a letter to Nintendo I would ask them if a new Mario and Luigi game is coming soon
With AlphaDream gone, I really wonder what it means for the future of Mario & Luigi. At least the Mario RPG remake will be coming out soon. Thank you for watching! :)
I was hoping to do the same thing.
I don't there's much hope for Mario & Luigi. But I think when smrpg does well we'll get a new rpg series that will pull from all the RPGs
wait , alphadream is gone? the mario and luigi series are my favourite mario related series
@@Kahridk yeah they got bankrupt so we haven't gotten any new Mario and Luigi games since the 3ds remake of Bowser's inside story which was also the final 3ds game ever
Nintendo will most likely feel out the demand by doing a remake first before rebooting the series, but yeah, more Wario Land games would been cool. If the next Switch retain the popularity of the current Switch then Nintendo should have both the motivation and incentive to reboot more of their sidelined franchises. A generational leap is always uncertain when it comes to Nintendo so we'll have to see. With the potential of both Metroid 4 and Mario Kart 9 being launch titles I have hopes that it will have a sufficiently strong start though.
Interesting take on things! At this point, I'd be more than happy with a remake. Maybe even a remaster collection of Wario Land 1-3. I guess we'll have to wait and see! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
And yet, there's still people claiming that Nintendo has "never" listen to their fans...
Another very wholesome video. It's good you're proving Nintendo is still communicating with their loyal audience in a sincerely positive way.
Also, requesting for Wario Land as an E-mail is an excellent choice because Wario Land has, without a doubt, the best 2D platformer franchise, and I can agree. I'm also looking forward to them announcing the return of the series if they have time to work on them.
Thank you! It's easy to be critical towards Nintendo, but it's important to highlight things like this as well. Glad to hear from another Wario Land fan! I really hope we see another game sometime soon. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)
I feel like smash bros ultimate proves that they do listen. Many well wanted characters made it in.
They do listen, some fans only claim they don't listen simply because they didn't get what they wanted.
@@all-stargamer3333 ssbu though
There is a difference between listening and acknowledging.
They acknowledged a letter but did they actually listen or did they send this letter back for some good PR and not actually care? This letter is pretty generic, there is currently no information so there is no information.
This is just a PR letter with a trinket attached. Not a form of listening. Don't give them more credit then they deserve.
I remember sending a check for eBay orders back then. Back in 2005, no one really trusted eBay; it was just so new at the time, and people preferred the Wal-Mart's, and Gamestop's around. Thanks for featuring my comment, and nice job with the Death Note reference!! 😆🤣
Right? It's amazing how much things have changed. I miss doing my retro game shopping at Gamestop before they stopped carrying older stuff. XD
You're very welcome, thank you so much for watching and commenting on my videos! And I'm glad you liked that Death Note joke. 😂
The fact that this video proves that Nintendo still cares for their audience and I'm hyped that Nintendo acknowledge the Wario Land series
That was really cool man. Hope you keep that safe.
Thank you so much! I'm happy you enjoyed the video, and the letter will be taken good care of! :)
I’m glad I watched this video. I’ve sent Nintendo a letter before and it took about 5 months for a response, yet I was still extremely happy to see that.
Thank you for watching! Great to hear you got a reply as well. :)
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. When I was in the department, we were about three months behind. That they're getting back to folks inside a month make me happy that they're finally getting a handle on it.
i remember 3 1/2 years ago, i was 10 by the way, i sent them a handwritten letter to nintendo about a new form of lycanroc that i thought up and drew, then a few weeks later i got a letter back, im sure it was just copy pasted, but i didnt care, they also sent me some bookmarks, those bookmarks were my favorite bookmarks for a long time, since then they have more than likely been put into storage or thrown away, but either way, i loved it.
That's so cool! Awesome that Nintendo sent you some things as well. It's memories like that that stick with you for a long time! Thank you so much for watching and commenting with your own experience. :)
I actually mailed Nintendo for a elementary school project, they sent me a sticker package and a letter. I don’t know where it is though.
I sent a letter once. It was a "plan" for a Mario American Football game. They did reply sharing how they appreciated the idea but were too busy with other projects to properly do it.
That was neat.
That's great that they got back to you! Still no Mario football game unfortunately, but it's a cool idea. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
Reminder that there are a dozen or so warioware songs in smash ultimate, and only one Wario Land song
Very sad 😭
The fact that you wrote "Wario Land Switch" in the Death Note tho
Oh man, I totally forgot about sending money orders for eBay purchases. Just like Wario, you got that Virtual Boy and games for a steal, at least by today's standards! This is such a great idea and recollection - thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! eBay sure was different back then, and it's crazy to see how much prices have changed over the years. I remember how tough it was for me to drop $50 on Jack Bros. when it was the final NA Virtual Boy game I needed. That seemed like big bucks at the time compared to what the other games were going for. XD
Now that is just UNBELIEVABLE!! Some big company you never expected to respond back to you, and yet they're doing it! Maybe I'll ask them for advice about working for them!! XD
do it, i used to have a friend that worked at nintendo of america doing quality assurance. but idk if she’s still working there. also her name is in the credits for fire emblem warriors and she was always super proud of that bc she’s a huge huge fire emblem fan :)
I loved the video! The death note joke at the end made me laugh. This has inspired me to send my own letter sometime soon. Thanks for another great video andrew!
Haha, glad you liked that Death Note joke! I've had that thing lying around since like 2009. It was supposed to be for a cosplay that never happened. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :D
anime is cringe 😬
@@legbender1584and what does this have to do with either the comment or reply?
I got it, if enough of us write in then they'll have to drop a new Warioland game, it's science
I think it's awesome and surprising they didn't respond with a vague statement that tells you nothing, like "Sorry, we have nothing to confirm at this time one way or another". Their reply basically tells you that nothing is in the pipeline for Wario in the foreseeable future. So at least we know we probably aren't getting one anytime soon
Right? Although if they somehow announced a new Wario Land game tomorrow, I wouldn't complain, haha. Thnak you for watching! :)
@TheGameDisplay No problem and thanks for the reply! By the way, what's the music used throughout the video? I know I've heard it several times before, I feel like it's a results screen from a Mario Party game or something. It's driving me crazy trying to remember exactly what it's from! 😵💫
@@MyklesChannel All music in the video is from Wario Land Shake It! The main music is Aboard the Sweet Stuff, and the ending is Mount Lava Lava. Thanks again! :)
@@TheGameDisplay Thanks! I still never finished that game. Looks like I need to dust off the ol' Wii U! We need more platformers with that handrawn artsyle, it as super cool!
@@MyklesChannel You're welcome! It really does have a cool art style. I was sure to buy it from the Wii U eShop before it closed down for the day when I inevitably replay it. Have fun! :)
I remember being 10 and writing a letter with ideas for a Mario Maker 2 (we were in 2015), and they had responded! I was the happiest kid out there when I saw the letter with "Nintendo" written on it in the mailbox
That's awesome! Isn't it cool when you receive a reply in the mail? I hope they incorporated some of your ideas into Mario Maker 2! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
@@TheGameDisplay Oh they most likely did! My suggestions included slopes, keys, key doors, and lots of the stuff you see in the sequel. I heavily doubt I was of any importance in all of this however, it's just fun to think about it from time to time. I keep the letter I wrote and their response close in case :)
So if I mail something to Nintendo about Waluigi, I can get a picture of Waluigi in some form...
I love that Nintendo implies that by journaling game ideas you could get inspired to make your own games. Guess that's how titles like Pizza Tower or Cassette Beasts came to be.
Whoa, I hadn't heard about Cassette Beasts! Looks pretty interesting. Thank you for watching and commenting, and sorry that your bro sux!
I haven't really played any other games of the series, but Shake dimension is one of my all time favourites. I've watched Beard bro's let's play of it many times lol
This video inspired me to write them asking for a new Donkey Kong game with K.Rool and the Kremlings and also a full localization to brazilian portuguese to all future Switch titles.
Yes! I'd love to see a new DKC game with K. Rool as the villain. Speaking of platforming series that haven't been seen in a while, I'm surprised how long it's been since the last Donkey Kong game! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
This honestly makes me wanna write them a letter now and tell them how thankful i am for the F-Zero series.
I sent mine in on June 6th, I honestly love Nintendo and decided to do it myself, still waiting on a response tho XD
Amazing! I'm sure that they'll get back to you soon. It seems to take about a month. Would love to hear about how it goes! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)
The way I see it Nintendo of America or any western Nintendo department doesn't have much influence in games creation. They're pretty much redistributors. The true source is Japan, I think letters sent there would have more impact.
You wonder how much Japan hears about what kinds of games are in demand in the west. You're right though that NoJ is definitely the ultimate decider regarding what gets made. We need to rile up some Wario Land love among the Japanese gamers, haha. Thank you for watching!
That artwork of Wario on the error screen is from Mario Party 9 from a minigame called Plunder Ground where the objective is to collect the most gems by selecting the right treasure chest after they have been shuffled by Monty Moles.
My grandma (rip Nonna) always said to "write a letter."
Whenever she had a problem with a product or service, she always pouted, "I'm gonna write a letter" or "I wrote a letter!"
I have surprisingly never done this yet. lol.
Legend has it one time my grandpa, a mechanical engineer for BF Goodrich, wrote a letter to Hoover back in the 80s asking for a review unit as a joke, and they sent it to him. 💀
That's awesome! Writing a letter no doubt used to be the solution to a lot of problems, back when companies were more likely to listen. That's funny about what your grandfather did! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. :)
Just noticed that the Portal at 10:21 looks similar to the Space Warps in Super Paper Mario
That Death Note gag hits hard. Can you also write these?
Excitebike
F-Zero
Custom Robo
Earthbound
Sin and Punishment
A good Yoshi side scrolling game
Rehire Rare Ltd.
Haha, I'm glad you liked the joke! No doubt lots of games that should be written in there. Thank you for watching. :)
Nice. (I’m thinking about sending Nintendo a letter about an idea I had!)
Love that you also want Megaman Legends 3 as well ^^
Absolutely! What a heartbreaking day it was when it was cancelled. I wonder if we'll see a MML Legacy Collection at some point. Awesome to hear that you're hoping for MML3 as well! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. :)
Thats an automated response if i've ever seen one:
"Hello NAME. We're happy you want more GAME HERE. Unfortunately, GAME HERE doesn't exist. Stay tuned, but here are some generic words of thanks!"
When I was in the department, we did use templates and forms to reply, but did tailor them to the letter we got. We'd rarely write full on letters because they needed to be vetted, but if a full on letter was warranted, we'd do it (there was a letter a few years back about a fan worried about Callie's mental health in Splatoon 2 a friend wrote off-template that went viral...that was a hand written one).
@@dolari Wow, I hadn't heard about that Splatoon letter. It's wonderful that Nintendo gave you the option to write custom letters if you deemed it necessary! Thank you so much again for your insight. :)
@@TheGameDisplay Its not really so wonderful. Its standard for most businesses tbh. Basically. it can happen but usually doesn't.
@@dolari I know. It's rather sad things have become that automated.
Yo that's really cool they finally responded Ggs lol
Thank you! I'm honestly pretty shocked that they got back to me.
@@TheGameDisplay for real!
I agree with this message. Wario land was always the more experimental game, especially once super mario had become more established as the base platfromer of the years, rather than messing with the core of mario they were free to experiment in Warios games thru the years ❤
In fact, if you wanted 2D platforming, Wario Land was the only way to get it for a while. Between the release of Mario Land 2 and New Super Mario Bros., there were 4 Wario Land games and no Mario side scrolling games (not including the SMA games)! Wario Land was always a treat to look forward to because you just never knew what you were going to get. Wish they would bring him back for a new adventure! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
Sent Nintendo a letter in middle school, I got a reply and they sent me a couple Mario and Zelda bookmarks :]
That's awesome! Wish I had done a project like that in school. Thank you for watching! :)
Oh I'm totally sending them a letter about zelda lore tomorrow.
I feel like the prints of wario and bowser, and all the characters from the mario franchise have something to do with the next mario movie, or even an upcoming mario game where wario is the boss again after 30 years! But that's just a theory, a game theory?
I would love to see another Mario game where Wario is the antagonist! Nintendo has so many amazing characters yet they hardly do anything outside of the box with them anymore. They all kind of have their place and stay within it. Thank you for watching! :)
Dude now knowing this i might write them a fan latter about fan games and how they should be more open about them! Like seriously there are so many amazing fan games out there especially mario fan games seriously mario the music box looks gorgeous bro you should really check it out! But thank you for making this video even though i don't know how to send a letter i might go learn how to so that i can send them a later so thank you again for this video and i hope you have a great day!
I love Mario fan games and rom hacks. Thankfully Nintendo doesn't seem to be too dismissive against them, unlike some companies are towards fan works of their IPs. Good luck if you go through with writing that letter! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)
@TheGameDisplay yeah that's true but they got rid of a mario fan game that was coming out which looked so good! But thank you I hope it goes well I might comment again if I get a response so look out for that
I think it's so cute they specifically gave you a Wario bookmark. Attention like that just doesn't seem to happen much anymore.
I really appreciated their attention to detail in that regard! It made the reply extra special. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)
I now want to write to them and tell them how dang thankful I am for the The Legend of Zelda series.
I just contacted Nintendo in a chat about sending a letter.. I think I might of scared the guy away... I feel so bad! Their customer service is so kind.
