I'm in total agreement regarding Sinkevich, that guy has an aesthetic and design expertise that regularly blows my mind. With this model, I immediately gravitate to the marbled carbon fiber, and that sleek blade shape...total winner.
EpicSnuggleBunny this treasonous behavior will not be tolerated. Not on this channel not by me I say. Haha keep up the great work Auston I got your back!
@@EpicSnuggleBunny Au contraire mon frère! I'd slap a new clip on there in a heart beat to make it closer to a custom feel than to leave it cheap feeling with a ghetto spring clip. @@pyaoliang Haha, yah it's okay for this one. Although I suppose you're right. There is never too much, when you suffer from the affliction of knife addiction.
I don’t know where the direction of either company is going, at first kershaw was releasing a ton of knives in different steels different styles, when they decided to create zt a higher end quality of knives in 2012 that’s when the companies got confused I feel in beginning it made sense kershaw takes care of the budget line and zt is defined as a higher end premium line of knives company. But how much weight does that hold if your releasing fewer knives and worse on dealing and working exclusively with cv20 who knows what they are doing I still love both companies thought
Hey , I got a question to ask on the construction, the build of this knife, 0470 zt, to be precise any valuable comment on its reliability and robustness as I have the mixed thoughts and feelings about this little knife being sufficiently solid and durable enough to assure implementation and execution of the extensive cutting tasks, is it able to successfully cope with some basic edc , outdoors needs? because what bothers me is the fact of the whole knife held together only with like 2 screws (a pivot screw plus one little back screw binding a pocket clip into the frame). it is a very nice looking knife but is it actual practical tool that I can rely on in various situations, Im not sure about that, moreover, zt0470 runs on kvt ball bearings instead of good ol’ washers that I personally prefer over ball bearings any day. Maybe people who had some experience with this model could clarify my concerns? Im still thinking of getting it or not
This comment is way off topic, but I feel like I need to warn people... I recently paid a lot of money for an OTF knife at knifecenter.com. I received the knife, and I notice they charged me $38 in sales tax... The kicker is they don't tell you when you check out!! They charge you "after" you checkout, and there's nothing that says they charge sales tax! 😡 Also I don't live in the same state as Knifecenter. And when I called to inquire about this shady "surprise tax", the woman at knifecenter was instantly rude 👎
I had no luck with knifecenter. Order 2 or 3 times and all ended up being cancelled because of inventory problem. Unlikely that will consider buying there due to these experiences.
As soon as ZT will make this model with Carbon Fiber Inserts on both sides, then I will insta-buy it... Twice, as a matter of fact; one for me and one for my brother as a gift! Overall an excellent gentleman's knife!
@@wOrdTHANATOS I'm sure I'll give it another chance. It really is a nice knife. I got a Hinderer style pivot screw from MXG and I like the looks of it.
It has actually been already... the 0500 MUDD. It obviously features the MUDD sealed pivot. Long discontinued but they do pop up occasionally on the forum for sale. Be prepared to pay $500+ though! It’s quite a unique knife, sounds like you’re cocking a Glock when you thumb it open ❤️❤️
Hate these stamped clips on $240 knives. That is my only complaint about ZTs. I just bought an MXG Ti clip for my 095BW and it looks and feels great compared to the chintzy stamped spring that comes standard on these premium knives.
I wonder how scary it looks in person.. I like the 0450CF, but I work at an antique heating stove shop and need to not scare shopping grannies outta their wits.
They really need a middle of the road line of knives $80-175 put more knives out in d2 and CPM 154 either kershaw or zt and zt is only releasing knives in cv 20?? No more s35vn??
Had mine for a week and love it. Not crazy about the clip and it does look a little plain but the knife is perfect size with great action. Great review as always. Hope your enjoying the valley of the sun
Most of the higher end Kershaws would be wonderful in an unassisted model. I still don't understand speedsafe. It feels like a solution to problem that doesn't exist.
Obviously a well-executed model but personally have two aesthetic nitpicks: The juncture where the CF meets the pivot seems awkward and asymmetrical. Would have preferred another design decision for the CF. And the clip reminds me of a broken finger I once had, so there's that. Tempting overall, though. Merry Christmas, ESB! (and Auston, too.)
Like I've already said I think the design is awesome, but the fact that they've left it bare on the lockside just disappoints me. Would've been a perfect knife otherwise. I just don't understand why ZT keeps putting out this half-assed stuff. I commend the Emerson one for having CF on both sides and this could've been so much better if it did the same. #bothsidesshowsides
Clearly they can do it with the Atmos and the 0393... so why not this beauty?? That damascus 0450 just kills me in that they could've milled the lockside but didn't.
I really like Sinkevich knives, but this one somehow i dont like. Even it has this awesome marble CF, its still looks kinda boring, ordinary and cheap. Id stick to my 450 and 462
Dont be too tough on yourself Auston, I dont even bother trying to commit ZT numeral system to memory anymore. They need to just start nameing the dam things -- (stop being so lazy on this subject ZT)
I really like the 0470. Great gent’s knife that can actually do some stuff of you need it to.

What ridiculous human being dare dislike this video?!
Well said!

Nice knife, it cost 600 dollars in my country
That limited edition 0450 is fire!
It needs a custom clip
We don't muck up Limited Editions with modifications!

Actually looking at it in more detail, it doesn't look that bad compared to the normal 0450cf.

It is carbon fiber tho. Just Marbled CF not "standard"
jett lackett he wants an inlay on the lock side, not just the show side.
Will it cut anything?
Will you be doing a disassembly video on the 0470?
Perfect EDC size. I've got the 0562 and that thing is a tank. It's a nice knife, but it rarely leaves the house with me.
Start carrying it it will never leave your pocket

You're definitely right, sinkevich has never made an ugly design
Really hoping to get this one some day, the longer I gaze at it, the more it reminds me of the sleek lines on a jet
Do you think there would ever be an 0472 lol?
Their numbering system is crazier than GEC 😜
Haha, maybe I'm just retarded :-)
Will a standard zt clip fit?
Thanks for video. Glad to see a video from you!

That is a shrinking segment for sure. Perhaps we will see more USA made Kershaw this year to fill it?

Winter here is fantastic!
I wonder if a standard zt clip would fit?
If 2018 was the "Year of Consumer Feedback" I suppose we can forgive the fact that 2019 is the year of "Screw Those Darn Consumers"
The injection???
Can you imagine a ZT Dividend without AO?
That would be awesome!!!!

Overlay vs inlay on the 0393 and the new Emerson. Inlays are more expensive as far as I know.

Never realized how expensive zts are. All the ones I want are around $250.
Prices just increased by $10-$20 per model last week.
I love this .its a beauity. It will go 😁
