I absolutely love the way you explain your vids!! They're all so eloquent and self-affirming😭💙 it means a lot as someone who detached herself from religion despite my religious family after a long time of feeling obligated to continue
Well said! Lately I find myself feeling like Crowley in Good Omens 2. I can see myself standing in the street yelling "I will not repent" before every church I see. Escape the toxicity before you explode.
I was an atheist for many years of my life and back then I would have absolutely loved a video like this one. When I became a believer I grieved for that time I wasted not walking with God. You can tell yourself you're rejecting "conservative Christianity", "fundamentalism" or some other variant and tell yourself you're rejecting something man-made. Truth is you either believe on Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and seek to live a life pleasing to him or you don't. If you don't, don't blame other people or the church. At the end of it all when you stand before God you will answer only to him.
Amen. Former non-believer here. I also wish that I hadn't wasted much of my life being a non-believer. I did not have the blessing of being raised in a Christian family and I thought that Jesus and the Bible were fairy tales. I used to mock Christians and think that they were idiotic hypocrites. I kept searching for the truth and by some miracle of God, I came to a knowledge of the truth and was saved. It's not about the "judgmental" people or the churches. It's about the Lord Jesus Christ. That's who people are ultimately rejecting. In the end they will be reminded of all the believers that tried to warn them. There's still time to turn to the Lord, non-believers. Please don't waste that golden opportunity because it matters for eternity. 2 Timothy 2:24-26 KJV 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
This is one of my biggest issues with Christianity. It’s almost primarily fear driven. I have a hard time accepting that a loving creator would make a proposal to his bride, and if she refuses, in-flicts infinite violence. That doesn’t seem right in my soul.
Funny to me how you can grieve such a short period of time. You will have an eternity with your maker. Those moments of atheism were short-lived and brief. And conservative Christianity is absolutely man made. It looks nothing like the Judaism that it morphed out of 2000 years ago. And quoting us the KJV is just wildly hilarious since that is such a poor translation of the Bible, filled with inaccuracies. At least find a better researched, nuanced, and informed version 🙄.
1 John 2:19 New International Version 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
I just say I'm not really into human sacrifice lol😂 and that I would rather be sorry for my own mistakes since I've suffered enough from them and I don't want poor sweet Jesus to have the sins of the world and my sins on his cross.
@@sarahbliss8417 I'm also the scapegoat of my family. My father presented himself as a Christian to the world but was cruel and unforgiving with me. Every time I tried to walk the Christian path he sought to discourage and invalidate me. I now understand that me being an atheist was exactly what my "Christian" father wanted so that he could feel superior and present himself as the caring father praying for his wayward son. I wonder if by rejecting the Christian faith you're actually playing into the hands of those who hate you?
Too late, it's already happened. He didn't just die for your sins, but the sins of us all; the whole world. GOD, manifest in the flesh, SAID, IT IS FINISHED. All that's left for anyone to do is to either accept or reject that free gift of salvation that was already paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 John 2:2 KJV - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. John 19:30 KJV - When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
John 3:17-21 KJV 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Well that's all fine and good, as long as universal truth is somehow beholden to my subjective whims and preferences; because if it's not, then the consequences could be unspeakable.
Your subjective whims are all you've got. Catholic or Orthodox? Mainline Protestant or Evangelical? Calvinist or Arminian? Jehovah's Witness? Baptist? Gnostic? Lutheran? Methodist? Young Earth Creationist? Old Earth? Cessationist or continuationist? None of which are anything like the beliefs of the original apostles. There is no common universal truth found in all of these iterations of the alleged word of YHWH. Like every earnest believer in any of these versions of Christianity, you made a choice based on what YOUR subjective preferences. And like everyone of them you are absolutely sure you are right. Good luck with that. What are the odds?
Serious sin has consequences that result in shelving and loss of eternal reward. Loss of faith can be decades but many are covenant children who don't understand God's incredible grace to them. Loss of faith often comes as a series of choices and self-deceptions. There's actually a demonic element to this as well that the prodigal is blind to. It will all GLORIFY God in eternity and display how God was appropriate with His covenant children.
You can tell yourself that but I’ve found quite the opposite. It is just convenient for you to dismiss us and our stories. But continue to live in your pharisaical judgment. That’s just fine with me and goes against your own shepherd.

It took a long time to learn, i own no one an explanation and that others opinion of my choices are none of my business
I wish I'd heard that 25 years ago! That's great advice and one that took far too much psychic energy for months that I could have had free.
Sounds like my X-wife's actions when she walked out of our family. It was her reason and none of my business to know why.
Sounds like a wonderful woman.
Perfectly said, thank you. 👏

It helps that I am already 'the problem' with the family
Jesus is the only way unto salvation

This also applies to leaving unhealthy relationships. Don't wait for permission. Just go.

You should study the near-death experience, you might like it.
No one who takes Christianity seriously leaves... not one

Seriously as defined by you.
