- Our two-night stay at Tamboti Tented Camp in Kruger National Park was a thrilling experience. After leaving Satara Rest Camp, our anticipation grew as we had heard glowing reviews about the camp's beauty. Upon arrival, Tamboti lived up to its reputation as one of the few wild camps, with safari tents strategically placed along the Timbavati River, offering breathtaking views. Exploring the surroundings, we encountered incredible wildlife, with the highlight being our first glimpse of a leopard on this trip. The sunsets were nothing short of spectacular, adding to the overall enchantment of our stay. Tamboti Tented Camp left such an impression on us that we will be back. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #krugernationalpark #tamboti

Wow, The history of my people in the Fausto Jomasse Ngomana, and Chief Mnyamana Mathebula in the Kingfisherspruit, Orpen and Rabelias Hut. I need to visit there and get more
Hi from New Zealand. Visited Kruger 60 years ago, driving a canvas topped MG,! Fearless UCT students! Until your wonderful journey, never realised the scale of Kruger, the varied landscapes, the animal varieties. Now a kiwi in his 80s, your trip has been a revelation.
Safe travel. Jim
Simba Chips and white bread! It was our favourite thing to eat, since the 1970s. I liked Salt & Vinegar the most.
Loved your travels in Kruger again .Sad about the little elephant with damaged trunk and being alone.Hope he survives.
Happy birthday Curtis...whiching you many more blessfull years to come..thanks for a great channel and wonderfull program..we enjoy it just as much as you and your wonderfull wife Sonia.. love it ..God bless You both
The days in Kruger is like a soapy. You cant wait for the next episode. Thank you so much for Tamboti. I liked the elephant road block you came accross. Also the tent facility - excellent and pure plaas. So true what you said you never get fedup with the Kruger. One could live there if it was pissible. Well done and till the next one.....
We could very easily live there! 🤩 One of the few places we'd trade our mutual hometown for in a heartbeat. 😁
Happy Birthday Curtis. There cannot be a better place on earth than the KNP to spend one's birthday 🤗. Man, did your potato crisp rolls spark a sudden desire to do the same. My favourite has, since student days some fourty years ago 🤭, been salt and vinegar flavoured crisps on sliced, buttered white bread (very fresh) rounded off with coffee! Like manna from heaven 👌. I hope you enjoyed. I certainly did 😏.
We are loving this trip! Firstly my wife’s favourite camp is also olifants, sadly we experienced a sighting that has stayed with us. On our drive up to olifants we came across a huge male in the road. We found out that he was injured in a fight with several other males. Every time we left camp and returned we passed him and watched as he slowly died over several days .It is a memory that has stayed with us. We celebrate life and mourn the dead. Life in the Africa bush.

We can't help but be happy there. The feeling is ever-present and rather overwhelming! 🚙🥰
Happy birthday. Hope you had a wonderful day, with your precious wife. May you have many more happy and healthy years to come. God bless🎉
Oh my goodness, what an amazing nerve wracking trip for me, animals for Africa😊, many blessings on you bday Curtis & happy anniversary 🎉. My younger brother as a teenagers used to go on surfing weekends with his group of friends, of course being the older sister I would make sure they were eating so would drive to beach with a supply of bread rolls & crisps which became known as " Surfer rolls", still to this day popular @ school snoepies 😄😄🚙
Happy Birthday Curtis. What an awesome way to spend your birthday 🎉
Absolutely loving your Kruger Park videos and all your sightings of the animals. Truly amazing
That pic of the lion was epic.
That is really camping out chow. Love it.❤
I'm just as excited for you guys, wish it was me. Makes me remember my husband and me traveling to Kruger every year for many years, enjoy. I'm traveling with you guys ❤😊
Thanks again for a fantastic video, Sonia & Curtis. What a coincidence that your Birthday is on the same day as mine. Turned 68 so have some years on you 🎂🥂🍾
Indeed a great coincidence! I hope you had a fantastic day! 🥳, Already a month ago today, which is super scary!
I am thoroughly enjoying my summer armchair tour of the KNP, thanks to Curtis and Sonia. Thank you for making my viewing so much fun and so interesting.
Huge variety of animals on this video......baie goed
It is so nice to see plenty of watering holes for these amazing animals.❤
You mentioned the tent types. I believe they have Luxury Safari Tents, too. They have bathrooms, kitchens with utensils, and air-conditioning. Lovely tents.
Indeed! We only learnt about those when we were back home already. 😁🏕 They certainly look like a great option. Thank you for the info! 👍
Another lekker trip....and a happy birthday was had...
Happy belated Birthday Curtis 🎂 🥳, Wow Sonia is a game spotter extraordinaire...Tamboti was a great gift for all of us, as has the KNP series been so far...definitely also my favorite place along with the Lowveld in South Africa
Noooo Curtis, you've got to use "slaptjips", and butter😂😂😂😂.🙃👍👏👏🙏❤
Well done spotting the Leapord and sharing your time with a Honey Badger...baie lekka 👍😁🍻🍸
Very happy birthday, Curtis! May you be blessed in the coming year.
Chips op ń broodjie met botter is heerlik..vlg keer moet julle by Maroela kamp..heerlik!
What an exciting camp. I stopped counting all the different animals when I got to 8 different ones . A very enjoyable experience. ❤
Wow! You guys!
You really take us places.
This was an amazing trip! 👏 👌👍
Seeing the different animals....wow!
Thank you so much!
❤❤❤
Happy bday Kurt's xxxx
Once again, just a Fantastic experience. Thanks a million!
A chip roll is something i used to love when I still ate bread. Fresh roll, butter, cheddar cheese and chips. Num
I'm absolutely loving your Kruger videos! I feel like I'm there. I haven't been to the park for about 7 years or so since we moved to Australia. We will be coming to Kruger in April/May 2024 when we visit family in South Africa. Can't wait.
Happy belated Birthday! 🎉😅
Hi you two, master game spotter and master braaier! What a lovely trip again. I have no words to describe it. After your videos, when next I go to the KP, I'm definitely going to spend more time on focusing on birdlife as you have now taught me. Congrats on 6 December. May there be many more days to share with Sonia (and, of course, with your fans on TH-cam!) I'm ready for the next outing.
Keep safe!
Happy Birthday to you Curtis! What a blessing to celebrate your birthday and anniversary in the Kruger. Sitting at Nsemani Dam, once again, brought so many wonderful memories back of times with my folks there. Tambotie looks like a wonderful camp. What wonderful sightings you had. There are lots of ellies in the Kruger. Looking forward to the next episode.
You guys will be able to say you were there during the Great Lion Plague of 2023! (That said, you have some eagle eyes in the car, so you're going to see a lot of things the rest of us miss.)
And a Badger! Ratel, really. That's also the proper English name. Or "African Wolverine" if you want to name it after some Northern beastie. As long as they don't visit, they're nice to have around. (I mean as in as long as the don't decide there's something they want in the same tent as you.)
A Happy Birthday Curtis for the 6th December 🍺 You were really spoilt 😅 I loved that Chip Roll you made😂 Enjoyed the trip very much!! Wow that Lion was huge, great pic you got of him👍 Thank you ❤
Happy birthday & happy anniversary!
Sinja die chips op brood is baie lekker, my hele gesin eet dit ook so. Probeer dit gerus🌻
Curtis, your birthday is Sinterklaasdag! How cool is that? And I'm enjoying so much you and Sonia having taking us on your two week holiday excursion through Kruger National Park. Love all the animals. I especially like the honeybear too - so cute
It is rather cool. Quite a few of our friends have asked me over the years to play Santa Claus at Christmas to give out gifts to the little ones. Some Afrikaans folks even call Santa Claus 'Sinterklaas' here. 🎅🏻🎁 Those three weeks in Kruger were absolutely magical, especially after our 19-year absence from what we view as the most incredible place on this planet. 😍
Leuk hoor! 🤗
I just want to add that as your numbers grow I realise how much harder it is for you to respond to everyone here. Thus, I've appreciated so much your thoughtful replies.
Let my man and I know if you ever vakay in the Netherlands. We have a small rowhouse, alas, so no room at the inn. ☺But we could recommend some nice B&Bs and be willing to pick you up from our station and drive you around all the lovely landscapes of Zeeland, where we live on the SW peninsula. Cheers and proost
thanks
Happy belated birthday Curtis, but no mwaa from me.
Hi. Thank you so much for your video's. Just wanted to ask, why are you not sending up your drone. Is it not permitted in the park? It would be awesome though.
Drones aren't permitted in any National Park and, although I think Kruger must be an awesome sight from above, I totally get that drones flying about would disturb the peace-and-quiet in this magical place and, even worse, spook the wildlife. 😍
@@DustBugsTravel I totally agree 👍 it does make sense. Thank you for the great videos. Hope the two of you are always safe on the road and on your travels.
Hey Curtis, I have the same love. Grew up with a chip roll. Tomato sauce wiilards and also salt and vinegar. The marge or butter keeps the chips stuck to the roll. 😂
I worked for Willard’s and the chip roll was a regular lunch time snack. Time to bring it back!
Also works well with some added
ham or polony
WELL WELL CURTIS, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND IT SO HAPPENS. YOU AND I SHARE THE SAME BIRTH DATE. IT IS NOW THE 5th OF JAN 2024. AND WE JUST HAD A BIRTHDAY A MONTH AGO. WELL I WAS 82 I WILL NOT ASK YOU YOUR AGE. KEEP SAFE YOU GUYS. B/DORP
Thank you! 🥳 I hope you had a wonderful day as well, I can't believe it's already a month ago today. Time surely flies! 😳
Baie geluk Curtis🎉

Adding to my previous post, this year in May on my birthday we were travelling on the s3 towards Pretorius kop when we noticed the Mishawu dam which was previously closed was now open to visitors. It is a beautiful dam and we parked to enjoy the view. We noticed an elephant on the far side in the water .we soon realised It was not enjoying the water but was in fact trapped. It seemed that its hind leg was trapped or broken .It struggled and soon lost its fight and drowned. This happened in minutes and left us distraught. We were planning a breakfast at Pretoriuskop but this put a damper on the birthday.
What a traumatic incident to have witnessed! 😥🐘 Nature can be as brutal as it is beautiful. I completely understand that you weren't in the mood to celebrate afterwards.
We never see Sonia. You encourage me to visit the Kruger National park. What is cost of your petrol bill so far driving from Cape Town to your current position
Sonia isn't keen on being filmed. 🥰 That's why you'll only see me until she hopefully changes her mind one day. I haven't gotten around to adding up all our trip expenses yet, but I would think a fairly accurate guesstimate would be about R5k on fuel from Strand to Tamboti. It has to be kept in mind that we used a very small, economical Renault Kwid, so that plays a big role in keeping fuel costs down to a minimum. 🚙 You should definitely think of visiting the Kruger National Park, you will love it from beginning to end. 😍
Amazing video! Love the tamboti,Orpen, Satara area! Do you film with you're phone? Ans are you holding it the whole time? Or is it installed on you're window?
We enjoy the central part of Kruger very much too! 🚙🤩 I film all our footage with my cellphone, which is mounted on a selfie-stick which I hold in my hand to ensure freedom of movement. 📱
@@DustBugsTravel amazing! I'll try it on my next trip! Thanks
Hi Curtis en Sonia. Ek antwoord in Afrikaans. Dit is pragtige video. Wat Sonia sê hier by 44 minute rond, is baie waar.
I'm very familiar with a 'katkop'. A close second to my chip roll! 😁
A baby zebra imprints on his mommy. Wwhen he is born she shields him from any others by circling around him until he fully recognizes her stripes.
