No. Business wise msft is in a great position as they can use 3rd place status to get acquisitions for cloud. This is why they don’t care too much about Xbox and will just flood their competitors. BMW will probably get released later as it’s in the publisher/dev to build a base for future games.
I can guarantee it. Someone called AlkaJugger has a PC build that is similar to a Series S in performance, and he tests games there to see what issues games are going to have in that platform. I think this game had to use extremely low resolutions to be upscaled, and even there he is having issues mantaining 30 fps. We are talking about sub 500p. It's really bad, so they are surely trying to figure out a way to optimize that. You can not release a game to the market in that state. This is good, because keep in mind good optimization on consoles translates to PC and the rest of the consoles, like with Jedi Survivor updates, that got so good to the point they now want to release that game on PS4. If it barely runs on a PS5, I can imagine how it would run on a PS4, but hey! It's much better for the rest of the platforms thanks to that now.
I have no idea why they even made the S. It’s like Microsoft wanted to handicap themselves by releasing a less powerful console that also has to have the same games that X has.
@@rickkcir2151 But I could say the same thing about any console, because they make even less sense in comparison to PCs now. The S being there is perfect, because it's a cheap platform that actually makes sense, and I'll explain why later. They (Microsoft) wanting devs to release games in both platforms is the actual issue. If a game can't run well on the S, then it shouldn't be on the S until it's better optimized and if it ends up being better optimized in the first place. Look at how long is taking Jedi Survivor to get releases on last gen hardware. No one is forcing devs to release the game in both the PS5 and PS4. They do it if and when they can. I say that because a PC that can do much more than any console costs $565 (Ryzen 5500 + 4060 combo + rest of the parts, including a P3 SSD that it's almost as fast as the one on PS5 and faster than the one on the X). You get DLSS 3 Frame Generation, which is A LOT better than FSR 3, both the upscaler and FG. For instance, on Black Myth: Wukong, using 1080p, you can have DLAA, which is native 1080p, but makes the image look higher resolution, at the same time you can use Reflex to have way better input latency than on consoles, and even lower than what you originall had before FG at 60 fps. Then you have optimized settings that look way better than the ones you see on PS5, FG to get to 100 fps, and you can enjoy that game with better image definition, way less input latency, way less artifacts (if you can notice one in the first place), better visuals, etc, and you save a lot of money in the long run because of cheaper prices and not having to pay to play online or to have cloud save. Even on front, a PC vs Xbox Series X is a no brainer to me, but try to build a PC that it's around the same price than a Series S, and you'll see how much issues you are going to have matching the same price, or a bit higher, and having a much better experience. For starters, the cheapest entry level GPU on the 4000 series is the 4060, so forget about that DLSS 3 and its Frame Generation. At that point, at least when it comes down to the hardware inside of the platform, the Series S is a really good deal, if you can find one for around $250.
@@rickkcir2151 it's because back at release they wanted to push the narrative that they are the end-all-be-all for value gaming, so they released a budget 'next gen' console, S, at the same time they released gamepass so they could try to scoop up all the lower budget people of course that failed them in countless ways over the long term, not least by making them way harder to work with than necessary

The xbox series S was a huge mistake. It is a burden that makes many games arrive late or never arrive and the worst thing is that Microsoft can not abandon it because it is its best-selling console. The average xbox user buys the cheapest console and supplies it only with the gamepass, and that has destroyed the interest of developers in microsoft consoles in this generation.

Do they have anyone in higher up positions that have even played a videogame before, or do they still call everything a Nintendo?
9:13 The real reason why Black Myth Wukong isn't on Xbox is because the console has never sold well and isn't popular in the Asian market, PlayStation and Nintendo has always been the go to devices for gaming in Asia and PC has somewhat recently seen a resurgence in popularity.
Nope series S is the reason. I hope Sony, Microsoft, and EA are seeing this and are starting to understand. And I would love a game like this but set in the world of The Never Ending Story.
That's why most are free and gain money every day, COD, fortnight etc, you can only buy a single player game once and gain nothing afterwards, make the next or new game and hope it makes money, some do some don't that's the nature of the beast.
@@Mark-mu4pj That's not most MP games, those are the biggest multiplayer games. MOST multiplayer games don't make squat, even if they're free. Most MP-only games have to be free because people won't pay for them. Sony's very recent Concord is a perfect example of people not wanting to pay for a MP game, and it'll probably end up FTP. When you have a game with single player and MP, 90% of people buy the game for its single player. And people play a single player more than once. That's why there's NG+ and higher difficulty levels.
Bummer for Xbox would have been a huge sales boost for them, but i suppose it's karma for all the awful s*** they have been doing lately, regardless of all that tho' i hope this will be a huge boost for PC Gaming and hopefully put a damper on Mobile Gaming.

I recall there was worry PlayStation was in trouble with the Microsoft acquisition of Activision/Blizzard but it seems MS had done nothing but drop the ball and missed out on being at the starting get for two surprise hits.
Sony should get on their knees and do some serious ass kissing to these developers that saved their PS5 during a time when all their live services have been failing.
Sony getting free exclusivity windows on every big launch in the past few years, because of Microsoft's console parity requirement, is really doing wonders for their sales numbers.

I'm from Asean chinese..l will get one this week😊
The Chinese are really taking pride in this game not only for its cultural significance, but because it was made by their own and done so well.
Personally, I'm very happy to see their success. This is a great game, I'm curious whats next.
Black Myth: Jiang Ziya Black Myth: Zhong Kui, already in preparation
A SINGLE player game.
It sold millions across PS5 and PC already. Xbox must be salty. Starfield is another pronoun game and Fable will be too, probably Avowed as well. 😂
black myth will be released on xbox...
@@theundertoker35 It got delayed on Xbox “indefinitely”, meaning it’s out of picture entirely until further notice.
@@eviljerm still not sure what that's got to do with pronouned games like fable and avowed 🤣🤣 back under your bridge you neckbeard
but I thought "11 out of 10 games don't sell consoles" Phil. I say this proves that theory wrong because only need a 9/10 game to sell consoles.
Nah I just own both the series X and PP5. I just use my series X 90% of the time because it's my preferred platform and I will wait for it to release on there rather than buy it on sonys platform. I still can't believe the wifi is still so trash. It's the exact same problem ps4 had. I can easily and quickly download a game on my Xbox yet on my PP5, even though it's much closer to my router, it still takes a very long time to download stuff so Im forced to move it to another room just to be able to use the lan cable or w.e
@@johnparker1853goodluck waiting for Wukong to download on Xbox then, it'll probably take about a year or two😂
Just to counter Phil Spencer... GAMES do sell systems.
Don't forget, the game still doesn't have disc versions. Once that happens it will be even more.
All facts
Gamers all over the world should be happy about this. China will continue making great games for the world.
Hell no, China is going to use this to change culture and make more fucking communist. I’m good, I’m not going to support the Chinese government, thus I won’t by from Chinese developers.
Live service games are begging like why can't we get those numbers
i mean..uhhh....honor of kings?
"Make a genuine good game would result in good sales? Are you crazy? That's never happened. DEI is the way.*
Valve has made a fortune with this game selling millions on steam. I love Asian games Dreadfall is a great game still one of my favourites
Xbox can’t stop taking major L’s. First, it was Baldur’s Gate 3, and now they’ve missed out on another hit by not having Wukong available at launch. It’s almost as if they’re purposely trying not to sell games and consoles.
_For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction._
Fact
That is Game Science.
@01:30... Don't leave out countries from the same time zone as China. South East Asia is home to 700 million people, the majority are non-English speakers as well. Surely, there are a lot of gamers from there.
Like another great game said……”You’ll never see it COMING!!”🎉🎉🎉
Joker agree that statement
Don't underestimate The Journey to the West.
It is not only popular in China, but it also popular in most of Asia countries
Suffering from Success.
One things is for sure, series x users are getting screwed bad by the parity clause,
I'm obsessed with this game. Some of the bosses are insanely creative.
Sony/Ps store doesn't even have this game in their front logo for promotion for the PS store and its getting its marketing from word of mouth. Every good thing
How does PlayStation keep getting these weird wins in their ongoing video game struggles? This has got to be studied.
Only because Xbox required all their games to come out on the Series S. They gotta be kicking themselves in the face right now.
Facts. It'll eventually hit Xbox. I'm gonna hold out for a series x version instead of buying it for PP5.@@a_passing_cloud
I mean it really has nothing to do with playstation. all their first party games are trash for the most part and they just happened to luck out. 😂 first party game companies have no idea what they are doing what so ever.
@@Born2DoubleUp Yup, most are trash 😮💨 opinions invalid
This is a case where you don't have to be good yourself, you just have to make sure the other side is more incompetent then you.
The game has 14.6million units sold by now. It wouldn't surprise me if it reaches 20 million by Sunday as Friday is pay day for most people.
Did some basic math on a calculator, if 20 million sale, that is about 1 billion and 200 million dollars. That pretty much sets them in the AAA market budget now. Game service said they were working with only 40 million budget, that means they made 1,160,000 in profit.
Yeah big pay day.
Next Chinese game on the horizon is Phantom Blade 0. Let's see hw it performs. :)
Games sell consoles. It’s been a fact since forever… feels like the industry forgets sometimes lol
Black Myth is still delayed on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S due to a memory leak issue. Us Xbox users suffering rn.
This is why you get both consoles. Screw that console war BS.
Yeah, the sales figures would have been even higher if you could bet it for series X. Also, a lot of people (me included) are holding out for a physical release.
I had to refund it on steam because it's poorly optimized, running on a 4060 and couldn't even play on low settings without it crashing, musta seen the starting cutscene about 20 times
I really hope Sony don't mess this up but knowing their track record they most likely will
They will take one look at this and think 'Live Service is the way to go, clearly!' 🤪
@@miss_pelt honestly we really don't need any more multiplayer games because gaming as it is has become so competitive it's actually pretty disgusting I just wish these publishers would focus more into single player games
@@mychealmcknight7963 I know, right? But what big company so far have understood this? They are so out of touch. Me, due to time constraints, prefer single player all the way. Co-op, especially local, can be nice sometimes, but I don't have time for live service, least of all several.
I’m so confused what live service game has Sony dropped recently?
@@Darth_Arashi Concord, unless we are pretending that the game does not exist.
Sony hasn’t seen these kind of sale demands since the console was out of stock everywhere.
has sony even had any big releases since launch? other than flash in the pan games like helldivers 2... I don't follow the consoles much since I'm on PC
@@theundertoker35spiderman 2
Crazy how a lot of games still come out for 60 dollars as well and they are always better than 70 dollar games
I hope gaming companies take the right thing away from this.
More single player one time purchases.
And not just pander to China.
chinese market is insane. Stellar Blade from South Korea did great as well. These regions colliding and working together with Sony could be incredible
Ps needed this after the Concord disaster
Probably the Concord and the Dustborn develop teams are now playing BMW to cope with their sales disaster.
It boosts Playstation sales much better than its own 1st party game Concord.
Also the fact that the game costs 60 dollars and not 70 is a HUGE deal that I don’t think a lot of people bring up
PS5 is much cheaper than 4090
Scalping, the bad part of physical ownership on games.
The system is not flawed, only the HUMAN element is to blame.
Greed, greed never changes.
The xbox series s has caused more damage than any good it brings. Holding back games for no reason at all
I really enjoyed playing Black Myth Wukong, even though I have some gripes with it. Definitely gonna be Game of the Year
Concord looks like a game that Michaels son from gta 5 would play
The game is amazing. Really exceeded my expectations that was the first game I had pre-ordered in a very long time.
I fuckin love to see this man.
Honestly, it's one of the MOST diverse games I've played. You play a monkey man fighting celestial beings, wolf people, rat people, tiger people... so much diversity
Korea, China showing the western world how to make games without pushing ideologies.
Oh no China is going to be pushing their Ideas, remember Free Hong Kong, I remember free Hong and all the people who disappeared… I won’t support China in anything.
It's so funny how allergic to profits Sony is. I mean, it's all right there. Solo stuff do be breaking records. Macrotransaction-less games also do shockingly well, and they are *still* sitting on the DRAGON sized hoard that is free money of a Bloodborne PC port...
Do they have anyone in higher up positions that have even played a videogame before, or do they still call everything a Nintendo?
The Series S continues to be the worst decision since the One's reveal event.
Microsoft fumbled this generation
9:13 The real reason why Black Myth Wukong isn't on Xbox is because the console has never sold well and isn't popular in the Asian market, PlayStation and Nintendo has always been the go to devices for gaming in Asia and PC has somewhat recently seen a resurgence in popularity.
Nope series S is the reason.
Game is struggling to run on ps5
And Microsoft won't allow series x exclusive
Or they will be buried in lawsuits
Corporation are made to make money
Profit is, was, will be the endgoal
Almost everywhere in world, government allow board members to sue the company if the are intentionally
Not making more profits
Look into it
I hope Sony, Microsoft, and EA are seeing this and are starting to understand. And I would love a game like this but set in the world of The Never Ending Story.
Most people play games for single player content. Multiplayer is ok, but it doesn't really sell games like single player does.
Depends on genre
Ah right, the dark side of success: Scalping and out of stock. Been a long time since I've seen that.
Bummer for Xbox would have been a huge sales boost for them, but i suppose it's karma for all the awful s*** they have been doing lately, regardless of all that tho' i hope this will be a huge boost for PC Gaming and hopefully put a damper on Mobile Gaming.
its wild that one game could do all that. that being said devs take note, thats how you make a video game
Xbox, pay attention instead of buying studios. Make great games and the console will sell.
And Sony keeps pushing live service games instead of high quality single player titles such as Bloodborne 2 e.g. Insane.
I’ll only play if there’s a physical edition
After their success, I'm sure there will be soon. Just like BG3.
Wait there isn't one???

Happy for the game and devs for this massive success and the fact that PS5 hardware ran out because of your game is a massive accomplishment on its own. I think "To achieve success and peace you must first be patient and suffer" showed itself here
Xbox missed out on the Baldur's Gate 3 release in 2023 and now the Wokong release in 2024.
Ohh, so that's where most of the player numbers are from.
China is hyped to see their mythology told on global scale.
I , as a German, am proud that BMW is doing so well in China :))
Imagine if Ubi's devs invested similar love and effort AC shadow to promote the locate culture.
Whether you dislike it or not. Yasuke was a real black guy in Japan. There's a dispute as to whether he was an actual Samurai but it's clear Nobunaga had respect for him.

The West makes a cultural appropriate game about Japan, but to pander the West's ideologies = big failure
What's sad is Xbox is missing out now that the game is at it's peak sales and still going.
The problem with the Chinese market is that the government can destroy your business model overnight on a whim.
They just don't want propaganda pushed on there citizens from the west if you follow the rules the government will support you.
Essentially this. Hence the frustration of companies appealing to the Chinese market: You can't say shit about their "glorious" government.
US government can also ban Chinese low cost and high quality EV cars, overnight. And Huawei phones, of course. And it will ask its allies to follow suit, despite their unwillingness. Hmm, that's not a problem .... if it is US government.
Ha... U are right. Just like what the US did to Hwa wei ... Kidnap people too.
The real problem is US gov sell the lgbt products to the world especially in entertainment industry!
So sick of the Series S holding back the Series X. Another game were getting late because of microsofts idiotic policy.

The issue with Xbox also happened to Baldur's Gate 3.
it not out on xbox yet because the dev said there isn't much xbox player in asia so they are prioritizing the platform their market play on.
also 81% of the sales are in China. Mainland China isn't the only country to use simplified chinese. Singapore for example use simplified chinese as well.
