1:01:58 I was thinking about this this morning. The suffix volve. evolution as I’ve peeked at it from a layman’s lazy perch is not a correct model. Here’s a fragment of my thinking. The word "volve" comes from the Latin word volvere, which means "to roll" or "to turn over". The suffix "-volve" is related to several other Latin words, including:
    Evolvere: Means "to unroll"
Involvere: Means "to roll into, to envelop, or surround"
Revolvere: Means "to roll back, unroll, return"
So. My thinking is our intuition about “evolution” Is actually more like a Trinity of being. Evolve, involve, and revolve. I don’t know why I think this. But I like you can’t see evolution. I only think the because I had a dream where God told me it was false. I had this dream unprovoked by anything. I never think of or thought of evolution other than I took it as fact because of what I was told. Any who this is an idea rising up within me. Another one I have is “gravity is a marker of mortality” any thoughts on this?

Yes- there has to be SOME unanticipated emergence. This is why checkers is so boring. Tic Tac Toe, more extreme case.

This was a lovely conversation, so glad you two talked.
The largest writing market in book is YA, so I'm not sure how accurate this idea is that reading is down. Harry Potter numbers are rather interesting.
Video games are stories, at least good ones.
The idea that the environment determines the cell differentiation is agent-arena relationship.
This idea of 'suffering' is not the best, that exists, it is inevitable, but to me, struggle is better.
Pulling forward is really final cause - Telos.
As a nation we've fallen back to materialism - the belief that the physicality is primary. Therefore, we go after material goals (even if we recognize non-materiality as such) rather than higher goals. It flattens the world and Neal is right that this is an addiction, because it has an end but we always need more.
Learning to talk about things that other people are interested in or know about is far more satisfying to me than talking about something I know about or want to learn about. I find abundance in hearing new things from people who are passionate about those things.
Perhaps our limited attention (Jonathan Pageau says the world is attention, that might be a hint) is a demon issue. I'll note that screens are flat. Games are on screens, their worlds are also flat. Linear, discrete, really large issues here for sure.
I don't think God as arena is 'perfect way to play this game' - PVK seems to be talking more about moving and how things move. Creation is the largest possible frame, you can never understand it very well.
When you simulate something you shrink the world. You flatten it, so for sure, that happens, but it certainly isn't a good thing. The fact that we can build small replicas of things can stray into Idolatry pretty easily, which is a great descriptor of the largest issues today, particularly within science.
Lots of working out emanation from a flat world here, it's easier to understand this by not trying and instead, taking the word of a distributed cognition bigger than you that has that worked out more thoroughly than you do.

36:37 I’m surprised that Luke didn’t leave a comment about this. The in and out of the soccer game is a false dichotomy. The crowd has an impact on the game. It’s all connected, and the quality of the audience also participates in the game too

27:04 I don’t think this is entirely true, cinema became divided. There is now a target audience for everything and the niches grew deeper and deeper. For example the terrifier series of films is just all the violence and gore of film turned up to 11 and the most recent entry is extremely profitable.
