Very good, relatable list. My top ten - when trying to not include the most obvious things again - would be this: - Balloon Kid (Fun, relaxing, on-point, cute, not too easy; 5 star game) - ZAS (hugely impressive vertical shooter, 5 stars) - Final Fantasy Adventure/ Mystic Quest (in Europe) (An action RPG that has a handful of shortcomings, but twice as many definite strengths, too.) - Golf (Reading the manual is strongly recommended for this game) - Mercenary Force (tactical side-scroller, under-appreciated) - Donkey Kong `94 (as mentioned. Mind-blowing how tight the controls are in this) - Metroid II (obviously; better than Metroid on NES, admit it) - Gargoyle's Quest (tactical platformer with gritty atmosphere, great visuals) - Micro Machines (while this was released on so many systems, the GB version might be the best one) - Trip World (short but so sweet)
Good video and good points. Nothing wrong with a short game like kirby or super mario land to run through in an evening. Have also come to appreciate simpler games like game & watch and alleyway. Alleyway still sucks a little though, kirby's block ball is better. As for link's awakening's iconic look, dragon warrior 3 got that same treatment and looks much more appealing here than on even snes imo. Anyway, here's an objective list of the best gb/gbc games in order. 1. Tetris 2. Donkey kong '94 3. Link's awakening dx 4. Zelda oracle of ages 5. Zelda oracle of seasons 6. Pokémon crystal 7. Dragon warrior monsters 2 8. Mole mania 9. Metal gear solid 10. Pokémon trading card game 2 11. Pokémon trading card game 12. Dragon Warrior III 13. Shantae 14. Super mario bros dx 15. Dragon quest monsters 16. Warlocked 17. Pokémon yellow 18. Mega Man V 19. Gargoyle's quest 20. Super mario land 2 21. Crystalis 22. Wendy every witch way 23. Wario land 3 24. Kirby's dreamland 2 25. Game & watch gallery 2
Super Mario Land 2 is the best. The music track and the combat are hands down the best experience you're going to have on a handheld #1. As your second cousin. I must attest. Kirby's dl2 masterpiece #2. 007 James bond #3. Super Mario Lands music is top tier spooky. But the gameplay can be a little lacking #4. Yellow edition Pokemon #5. Because it's yellow edition Pokemon.
Another banger video Sammie! Kirby's Dreamland 2, Link's Awakening and Pokemon all have a wonderful place in my heart and memories.
Thanks Chase! :)
Great video! All the Wario Land games are awesome. You're in for a treat. Currently playing nr 4 actually and I think its the best one.
The thumbnail you made for this video is stunning. Where did you source the art?
The princess peach art is from some Japanese gameboy ad from the 90s and the Mario art is from the manual of one of the game and watch gallery games!

Ooo a lot of these are on my backlog! Maybe I’ll talk about some of them in a future video!
@@supersambams In turn, upon your recommendation, I've played a bit of Kirby's Block Ball. It's a lot of fun; many cute touches.

Still waiting for your n64 tier list. And you talking about how I gave you Mario tennis 😂😂
I prefer playing the gameboy Pokémon games on N64, on Pokémon Stadium with the Gameboy Player. Did a 251 run on original hardware just recently!
