I'm quite fond of the Mayflower curry sauce mix - I make up a pan's worth on the hob, then throw in the cooked chips and give it a good old stir around to make sure all the chips are coated. 😋

I do my grocery shopping online because of ill-health and from Morrison's regularly get the Bisto Chips In Curry Sauce, which says it is mild but isn't mild enough for me, so I mix mayonnaise into the curry sauce to make it milder, so that it tastes like a coronation curry sauce and I enjoy it that way. That's usually what I do if a curry sauce isn't mild enough for me otherwise I wouldn't be able to eat it. I have thought if ever I do a online grocery shop at Asda that I would try their version of chips in curry sauce.

I bought some spaghetti bolognese sainsburys own brand it was 70p a can, might have been an offer but Heinz was £1 .40, dropped in a couple of weeks later same can 90p a can, they say inflation is lower, but I am not seeing that when shopping. 20p rise in 2 weeks.

I was in farmfoods today and they have some signature meals that look decent. They're 3 for £10. Lamb keema bhuna, the steak cottage pie and the butter chicken looked the nicest. They also have some new Kershaw's meals they do spaghetti Bolognese with garlic bread and lasagne and chips. Another item that looked interesting was some chicken mini fillets, salt and vinegar flavour and the odd one sour cream and onion flavour.

Both very nice Gareth, much cheaper than going to a Chinese or chippy.
I love the Mayflower Beef Curries they sell in Poundland
A few months ago they were £1.50, now they are £2.00
    Much more than 10% inflation
(I think shops are milking it)
    10% inflation would mean £1.65 (NOT £2.00)

The only Mayflower products I have tried was the fried rice and the chinese chicken and mushroom from Farmfoods, everyone likes them in my house.

I like you do the comparison - and as ever, your vids. But I do worry that people buy these things to save money, when they really aren't. Cheapo oven chips, and a few onions, herbs and spices - and if you want to be flash add in some coconut milk - will make multiple times as many helpings - I dunno five or six - for the price of two of the Mayflower.

I buy the Mayflower tub of curry powder , you just mix it with water it tastes exactualy the same as Chinese curry sauce , it lasts for ages makes lots of portions.

Cheaper to buy some frozen chips and the mayflower curry sauce you make up from a powder and is banging as you've said 👍

In the long run yea it is...but for someone who doesn't want to cook and wants a quick snack ..ie kids after school...teenagers in the evening....or working and you've the choice of canteen, packed lunch or a hot microwave meal.
Most ready meals are not as nice as homemade equivalent but sometimes they fit a need or purpose.

I literally have no interest in curry. In fact, I can't even tolerate the spice in a pack of mild enchiladas. 😂 But I love comparison videos and I love your videos! So here I am watching anyway!
By the way, which part of Yorkshire are you from? I'm in Mytholmroyd down in the Calder Valley, the town that always floods. 😂

Asda one if you had sauce left add in some rice and veg or if on a day after doing chicken any chicken bits as well to give a single portion tasty lunch.
I have no idea what is in Chinese Curry I am allergic to even tiny bit if 😂 cross contamination and that is Epipens out and off to hospital.
I eat the hottest Chilli/Mexican or Indian food no issues at all.... Chinese Curry smells so good as well.

Mayflower curry sauce mix is top quality but it has to be the extra hot one for me! I make my own crinkle cut chips in my deep fat fryer for both Chinese and Indian curry because they soak up more of the juices 😛😛
