I just discovered your channel.I enjoy watching. Im a fellow New Englander. We share so many favorite authors. Tasha Tudor has been a favorite for so long, I even have a corgi which I first fell in love with from her children's book illustrations.

When you started to share the authors of books you love I sat in amazement as I have Susan Branch, Gladys Tabor, Tasha Tudor ,and New England five Living magazines all of which you had and I said out loud that you and I must be related because we have so much in common from where you live ( I love new Hampshire but I live in Maryland and fall short of your enchanted State) , your beautiful garden and home and cozy decor you are so personable and lovely and my joy of my day when you post a new video!. I loved this video! I love curling up with a good book, a cup of tea, and a scented candle. I am so drawn to New England as that is where my dad’s family is from. Our ancestors came on the Mayflower and many still live in Massachusetts. Dad met Mom during WWII and moved to her home state of Washington where I have lived my entire life. I have never visited New England but it is on my bucket list! So much of my family history is there!

I just recently discovered your videos and am enjoying them immensely! I, too, love the authors you recommend, and I have another New England author you might like. Her name is Elisabeth Ogilvie and she wrote a series about a family living in a fishing village on a small island in Maine in the 1940s. The characters are fictitious but their way of life is the real deal. I've reread them many times!

Hello Carla---I ordered A Fine Romance and started reading it yesterday---you are right it is such a cozy read and what a story Susan and Joe are living!!! I also have Martha's Vineyard Isle of Dreams and looking forward to diving into that book as well. Thank you for sharing these books!!

How ironic! I just picked up Isle of Dreams from my library on Monday. I’m one chapter in and so mad at myself for not buying real estate on the island in ‘82 like Susan. I was only four at the time but I should’ve known better! 😂

So glad I found your channel via a search for Susan Branch. I also LOVE her and Tasha Tudor...big fan! I always dreamed of taking the Tasha Tudor house and garden tour too!!! I'm a big fan, and it's been on my bucket list for years. Also, I look forward to reading the other books you referenced since we have the same taste in books. I started watching your other vids and I live in MA. Lived here for many years...since I was a little girl...but dreamed of living in the English countryside. While I cannot make that dream come true...you have given me the idea of one day relocating within the New England area to a place more idealistic that might resemble the English country side. Thanks so much for the book recommendations. I was trying to write the authors name down. I too love New England! I went to Cape Cod on my honeymoon and on our 25th anniversary we went back again. I’m a Jersey girl living now in SC. I was too much of a wimp for the winters plus 2 of my 3 kids live down here. I met you from Linda Smith Davis’s channel. You are a delight! Finally rediscovered Gladys! I had forhotten both her name AND the book title that i had loved so much 40 yrs ago, but remembered it had "daybook" in it, finally found it on eBay & am snuggled up with it now. And how lucky am i? It begins in April & it's still April now!

This is a nice surprise! And what an interesting video! The only author from your group that I have read and collect is Gladys Taber. I appreciate her focus on nature. Her books are fairly scarce here in the midwest (at least in my area). I enjoyed hearing Susan Branch's background. I'm going to find her blog. I loved the cozy visit to your library/den. Panning the surrounding yard at the beginning was delightful. Then the library colors, chairs, and door vistas to outside...well, I imagined myself there and felt so relaxed.

Takes place in Savannah and there are ghost but nothing real scary. Also some humor in this series. I also really enjoy Elin Hilderbrand. I own all 27 of her books. I’ve loved to read all my life. I also enjoy Susan Branch, Tasha Tudor, and I love Nora Murphy….I have her beautiful book ‘Country House Style’…I would love to visit her new shop but it’s a bit of a drive! Of course, Linda’s magazines are absolute eye candy!! A funny story about Robert Frost…there is a farm that Frost and his family moved to in the Derry , NH area that I visited a long time ago…not sure if it’s still open. This is where I learned that even though he was a great poet, he was a really bad farmer! I would love to be added to the drawing. Thank you for such a lovely video, Carla🍂

I shared some picture books I have had for a year or more on a video. I didn't consider anything regional, although two people were in the South, Tennessee and Georgia. I would take either book if you gave me a book. I will even share. I live in Georgia.
I wanted to let you know Susan Branch has a TH-cam channel. Just her name, it's almost a decade old and it's not obvious on first glance that it is her. It's just snippets of her life, her cat etc. It's heavenly.

I’m from Plymouth so I knew the area, restaurants, etc well which made it enjoyable for me as well as the story itself. I will be reading other Pamela Kelley’s books in the future. Thanks again.

I majored in early childhood education. We studied a few authors from New England who wrote/write children's books. Jan Brett, Tomie dePaola and others. A gentle suggestion that you listen to what she has to say about loving our neighbors and realizing we need to work to listen to one another and not tear each other apart. I am so sorry that message is difficult for you to hear.

@@lindastep2811 Well, Linda-I believe in evidence, in making at least an attempt at truthfulness, in being faithful to one’s spouse, in basic respect for women, in not stealing government documents, and in the rule of law, so I guess that’s where I part ways with Trump and MAGA Republicans. That said, there are still plenty of good Republicans out there. I hope you are one of them. So, I will leave it at that. Have a great memorial day weekend. I will be thinking of my Army Vet father, who fought hard against the ideologies that Trump is fomenting.
