- Hello everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my channel! In this video we are taking a look at my entire Scindapsus collection. I have 7 different varieties and always wanting to add more. I'll share with you my care for them including lighting, fertilizing, watering and more. The varieties that I have in my collection are:
Scindapsus pictus exotica
Scindapsus silvery ann
Scindapsus silver hero
Scindapsus silver lady
Scindapsus silver splash
Scindapsus argyraeus
Scindapsus jade satin
We'll talk about some of the varieties I might like to add to my collection including the Scindapsus Silver Cloud, Scindapsus lucens, and more!

Loved seeing your Scindapsus collection. I only have a Treubii Moonlight. I love it. The leaves are so leathery I’m always feeling them. It did get a long runner on it that I experimented with by cutting in sections and sticking back in the pot but that didn’t work. That flowered shirt you thrifted is beautiful on. Thanks for the video. Pray we don’t get a lot of damage with this hurricane coming Wednesday. 🌀🌱💚🌱
Hi, Karen!!! Next time try sticking those runners (cut up with a node) into a plastic bag with a little bit of water or wet sphagnum moss and they'll grow for you. They just need really high humidity I have found. Thank you so much!!!! And I'll be thinking about all of you in Florida. That must be so stressful for you. Hoping for the best for all.

Dark form is really pretty, and I love my Trebuii moonlight, silver cloud and silver queen. (I collect scindapsus too) I love them all :)

Very nice collection Gena, I recently got the silver glory and it had root rot! I treated it and put it in moss and rooted it and now it’s beautiful. I also have several scindaptus , you are quickly becoming one of my favorite plant you tubers!
You are so sweet, thank you 🥰. Are you planning to leave yours in moss for awhile? I ended up rotting a Scindapsus silver princess in moss (which never happens for me), that’s why I ask. I’m now very leery of leaving the Scindapsus in moss after it has rooted for me. But it’s definitely a great way to get them rooted. I just won’t procrastinate when it’s time to pot them up. @@ThePinkTrellis I put mine in lightly dampen moss inside one of those plastic strawberry fruit containers, they make a great little terrarium. It was probably in there about three weeks or so then I potted it up and put a plastic cloche from the dollar tree (a plastic zip lock bag works too) over the pot for about another two weeks and it has rooted and taken off really good!

I love your scindapsus collection. I had the silvery Ann and the argyrus but neither did well in my care so I gave them away. I do had the exotica and she is doing beautifully.

I have the exotica and silvery ann, Really struggled with the silvery ann. It is doing ok for now. I keep the exotica in my master bath and I think I have finally hit the happy place for it. Yours are doing so well.

Totally forgot I also have the Trubi. For some reason I rarely think of this as a scindapsus. For me it grows much easier than the Silvery ann and Exotica.

Yeah it doesn’t really look like a Scindapsus to me. I think that’s why I haven’t gotten one yet.
@@ThePinkTrellis I do like mine. Suzette sent me two small cuttings of it and I have been growing them out to prop to put back in the mother pot to make a fuller plant And so odd this one does not give me troubles. OOPS Yet that is. fingers crossed.

I love Scindapsus but other than the Argyraeus I really struggle with them. Scindapsus is the a genus I have far from mastered yet.

Hi Sherry!!!! I hope you are able to figure them out. They seem to me like a plant genus that definitely could be on the more finicky side. I don’t really feel like I mastered them since I still have that feeling that they could crash on me at any moment….but really most of my plants have me feeling that way lol 😂.
I'll share one thing my mother told many years ago when my children were small and I was a busy wife and mother. I had a few houseplants but didn't pay much attention to them.
She came over , grabbed my water pitcher and began watering my plants.
She said, "How would you like to be thirsty and not be able to get any water?"🥵
To this day I remember that! Maybe that's why I tend to overwater (and kill) some of my succulents!! 😂😂🤔🥴😢😅

Hi, Cherie!!! Thanks!!! Yeah, I feel the same way. I can't not water my plants, even if I don't feel up for it. I put myself in their positions....and I sure wouldn't want to be thirsty and there's nothing I can do about it, cuz I'm stuck in a house lol.
My silver painted ivy ( that’s Greek for Scindapsis pictus exotica) is shingling up my plastic trellis. I love the neat and precise way the plant grows as well as it expensive(Tiffany) looks. ❤ these plants.
Hi, Paul!!! Oh cool!!! LOVE learning new things from you. I'll have to remember silver painted lady! I've never tried growing these up. Maybe I will with a cutting at some point. I just love the way they look trailing :). They are very expensive and elegant looking...I agree.
You look so beautiful in your new duster! My favorite is the silver splash. I love Gabriella Plants but feel the same about the soil. I always wonder who orders it when I see it on their site.
Thanks Cheryl!!!! The silver splash has always been high on my list of favorites. I think it’s the pattern paired with those big roundish leaves that really does it for me 💕💕💕. They sell the soil? I didn’t even know that!!! Not a fan. But it’s easy enough to just repot them. They have great plants otherwise.
Hi Gena! Your collection is so beautiful! I just got a silver cloud in the mail yesterday! How crazy you just ordered one! I also believe my very first scindapsus was the silver queen/princess...in a hanging basket from the home depot...I did not even know what it was...it must have been back in 2018/2017...not sure....but mine propagates in water so easily and I will send you a chunk! My silver lady has been a slow slow grower but I bought a one leaf cutting....and finally it has 7 leaves! I do not recommend buying one leaf to anyone!....also my silver hero I bought 3 node stick cuttings and 2 died and after 2 ..3 years I have 5 leaves! Crazy....so happy the prices are coming down....esp what I paid for a one leaf cutting...crazy! I do have a dark form trubii but it is still too small to share but maybe next spring....!! So I will have to make you a little package when I get back from going out of town! Ok thanks fir the wonderful video ♡ tina

My Scindapsis pictus exotica is growing up through my Philodendron tetrasperma. They were made for each other.

Hi! It’s from urban outfitters, a few years ago, which there’s a good chance they still carry them. Seems like a staple piece that they always have available. But I haven’t checked their website in a very long time.
I love scindapsus! The jade satin is my favorite. I remember when they were SO expensive. I find rooting them to be totally hit or miss. Sometimes they will root easily and other times they just sit in the jar and do nothing at all for months. Where did the two matching green planters come from? Steve's Leaves has silver cloud for much less. But sometimes I think the names get mixed up. Example, I'm pretty sure your Silver Hero is actually a Platinum just based on leaf shape being more pointy than round. But the names get used interchangeably so who knows.
Hi Kyra!!! I’ll have to check out the Steve’s Leaves website just to see what kind of Scindapsus they offer. I just added a platinum to my collection and I saw that sometimes the silver hero is called a platinum. This platinum does look a little different to me than the silver hero but I guess time will tell 😊.

@@ThePinkTrellisI have both but the one that was labeled "silver hero" is still rather small. So I'm not sure if it is the same (yet). Time will tell and we can compare!

The Argyrus was always dying or barely growing until i put it in Leca, then it grew big and beautiful
That's interesting! I have always kept mine in soil without issue. But if an issue arises, I will definitely try out a semi-hydro medium for it. It will be a great excuse to switch it over. For now, I don't want to change up a good thing :).

HELP! My scindapsus has a weird leaf problem
My scindapsus is geting some werid brown spots on the older leafs🤨
They are not like ‘normale‘ brown spots. The color rangers from greyish brown to olive and the pattern seems sort of scaly. The leafs feels normale. The brown spots are not mushy or flaky.
There are no visible pets and it is not a root problem. I water it when the leafs starts to curl up. The plant is in a terractta pot with will draining soli. It receives bright indircet ligth and is producing new growth like nobody’s business.
Have any of you seen this before? Cuz I sure don’t understand it😵💫
Hi! Is it possible that with the changing season it is now being hit with some direct sun???? Perhaps it has been scorched.
I got sold an Exotica when I wanted a darker, less silvery, Argyreus... whelp... guess I'm getting another plant. (Not that my husband minds at all) 💚🪴🌿
The argyraeus is so pretty. Great excuse to get another 🥰.
