Helldivers 2 is in the same space as Baldur's Gate 3 was last year. Their sheer excellence as gaming experiences makes most gamers forgive all the issues that the games have.
We are in a weird space. Basic Game genres get turned into either ultra generic shit, remakes or lackluster copies and we have to pay 100bucks for them or we get 1 or 2 gems for around 40 bucks that outclass the whole industry and set a standard that we had 15 years ago when we would basically strangle a man in front of a gamestore to get to the copy first after rotting 20 hours in a chair.
Bro the game has a bunch of bugs but I have never not even once gotten mad at them infact they normally make me laugh
Yeah, HD2 may have bugs, but their usually humorous or relatively benign and not game breaking. Which is a big plus, and then counting the how much fun the game is yeah i can overlook the what bugs their are.
Kinda, if bg3 had keylogger and a back door in a form of "anti cheat"..

The adrenaline when you are the last diver, the shuttle is 10 seconds away, you have all the samples and all the murder bots/chargers/hunters are after you is off the charts.

Those bots he called "Contemptor Dreadnaughts" honestly seem more like Terminator Marines to me. Especially the ones with the twin rocket launchers on their backs, since they look almost identical to the Terminators with cyclone launchers.
It's the way the limbs attached to their bodies. Terminator armor is still armor, a Dreadnought is more robotic, thus the robotic Devastator looks more like a Contemptor Dreadnought.

3 or 4 factions that have opposed super earth's militaristic rule the termanids, the cyborgs, the automatons, and the illumanate. the cyborgs and automatons can be counted as one faction or two different factions depending on how you split the hairs since the automatons are the "children" of the cyborgs of cyberstan from the first game
and now the bots have Cyberstan... (also i love how their video started off by addressing the media illiterate douches)
Would be cool if they could add like a bayonet attachment to charge at enemies with, basically uno reverse card we are now the charger, or maybe just play it safe like l4d2 and just scatter melee weapons throughout the map like shovels, pickaxes, axes, officers sabers, etc. But maybe with like durability to it and that it's only good for clearing swarming enemies at point blank range and running away rather than it being a main tool for disposing enemies, I would love to see them add a beam saber for me to slice up them automatons, cut through their metal bodies like it's that scene of Kylo Ren raging in the torture room.

Ive played with some of the strategems that arent technically in the game yet, such as calling in troops, and its pretty fun. Theres a few great ones coming soon.
Its quite something when I can recognize each of the artists for those muscle gals.

The nerfs of the Railgun and Breaker was masterful. They didn't even make either weapon that much worse. Marginally worse, perfectly managable. But it was a psychological attack on the terminally meta-minded. They could NOT keep using these weapons, since they had been *nerfed*, forcing them to find other ways to play. I kept using both the breaker and the railgun and didn't really notice any difference in performance for either.
the armor rating has been fixed since then btw and boosted with damage % reduction for medium and even more for heavy

Contrary to popular belief, the Mortar Sentry (as I call it, the "Employee of the Month") is not the best Strategem anyone can bring. That lies with the Orbital Laser (as my friends and I joke, the "Death from Above"). The Orbital Railgun is great, but hits one enemy with high armor...the Orbital Laser hits many things, starting with high health/durability enemies first, and loves to chew on Turrets, Tanks, Titans, and other Tankier enemies. Kill streaks of 20+ are not uncommon with this Strategem.
I'm actually really annoyed with all of the TH-camrs and streamers who did a review of the game. They've given the impression that Helldivers 2 is a horde shooter where you mindlessly mow dowm enemies when in reality it's basically the opposite of that and on harder difficulties it actively punishes you for standing and fighting.
Seriously guys, ever notice how you don't get rewarded for how many enemies you killed? Ever notice how rewards are based on how many objectives you completed? Ever notice there's not a single objective that has you mowing down hordes of enemies unless it's a defense mission? Ever say "they won't stop reinforcing!" In the middle of a mission?
Yes. Exactly. It's because HD2 is an objective based PvE extraction shooter and we're essentially playing as paratroopers. Our job is to drop in behind enemy lines, hit the objectives and then GTFO.
But I'm not surprised that this information went completely over people's heads, after all there's still people who can't figure out that rewards are shared and will boot people right before the end of the mission so thry can "keep what they earned."
I cannot wait until the knuckle draggers all move on to something else.
I like playing oops, all lazers. I be rocking the guardog rover backpack, the las sickle, the Lazer cannon , and the orbital Lazer , and round it off with the 500 big bomb 😂. Sometimes, I use the shield generator instead of the rover. idk it just depends on the mission .
It's probably not optimum, but who cares, I am having fun
Ok I've been looking for a while now but it seems I can't find this on my own. In this videos 30:10 - 30:12 min mark, where is that marching scene from? I'm equally curious as to where the sound/words are from that's being referenced here. Hope someone can help me out with this.
If I'm recalling correctly it's from one of the trailers or teasers for Helldivers 2 about an up coming threat that must be fought or something like that.

To be honest I also called em Tyranids. And Automatons was like combination of Chaos Spacemarine and Necrons.
And I hope other devs had the same quote as Arrowhead Studio, _"A game made for everyone is a game for no one."_
i think melee weapons wouldn't work be it for gameplay reasons, or realism reasons. However, exosuits with melee weapons, definitely work!

i bought premium and an extra 1000 credits just because the game is that good, i could easily earn myself to 2-3-4k credits but the devs and this awesome game deserved my support more than the initial 40$ just by how they act online with the community, let alone how good the game itself is even with some bugs here and there to stomp out, graphics glitches, crashes, i dont give a shit about those because they actually care and are doing their best to fix it on top of the deluge of players swamping their servers since day 1
