Kante is one of the best protectors in midfield and a defence that included WC Silva and for us peak Rudiger who was poor in his first season or 2 but was best under Tuchel’s compared to now having essentially early seasons Rudiger in abundance but also without a clear world class quality like Silva around so so it’s tough and Maresca will have to find a solution but you could say he has better attackers than Tuchel and Tuchel had better defenders

I'm more led to believe TT would at least sort us out better defensively as a unit. He also has a better overall track record than recent managers we've hired.

Thomas killed our attackers. I hated that. Yes we won the CL but we were a dead ten after.
@@jt19933 We scored 76 goals in his final full season, while only conceding 33. Last season we scored only 1 more but conceded 63. Tuchel didn't kill it, standards were just higher.
@@hnaku8748but look at how many of those goals came from our attackers compared to last season so he’s right, our attack was supplemented by the wing backs cos the wingers were not effective enough to affect the game consistently in Tuchel’s Chelsea as opposed to what we’re seeming like we may have now with Palmer, Jackson and Nkunku if he stays fit. Yes our defence is worse but that’s not just tactics, it’s the personnel. Kante is one of the best protectors in midfield and a defence that included WC Silva and for us peak Rudiger who was poor in his first season or 2 but was best under Tuchel’s compared to now having essentially early seasons Rudiger in abundance but also without a clear world class quality like Silva around so so it’s tough and Maresca will have to find a solution but you could say he has better attackers than Tuchel and Tuchel had better defenders
@@itiswhatitis2767 "that’s not just tactics, it’s the personnel" ...That applies to attack too. Some would actually say more. You can teach a team how to move as a unit, not how to finish. A single attacking threat could beat 3-4 players alone (Nkunku against Club America for example), but can't expect a single defender to keep a clean sheet.
Given the improvement we saw from Lampard (note Lamps in 19-20 season conceded 54 and was deemed as poor; last season we conceded 63). I'm more led to believe TT would at least sort us out better defensively as a unit. He also has a better overall track record than recent managers we've hired.

And you can teach a team how to finish lol none of the players in EPL that are getting high number of goals at their clubs outside of Halaand and Salah, hit the ground running like that so these players had to be taught and improve on their finishing just like any part of your game. I agree that Enzo can see us up much better but Poch had better players last season and didn’t deliver defensively so let’s see if Enzo can do any better with slightly less quality
