It's not a placebo effect if it actually got you squeaking high.
Good call letting the engine run to get that plug out and not just turning harder. Simple things like that are what make the difference of pro level work.
Might have just been the camera angle, but Fuse 2, 30A, looks kind of melty. It's a cooling fan fuse, so decent load on it, but it's for low speed. Take a look at the cooling fan resistor, they can rust up and internally short, allowing more current flow. It's screwed into the top of the fan shroud, between the fans.

Having realistic project cars that are not beyond the scope of most is something that makes this channel great, and of course, you. I really like how whatever task you start you tend to do an incredible job and are meticulous with getting things right. That roof replacement wasn't something I wanted to try so I made sure to buy my "track car" with a slicktop. Cutting cars up with a Sawzall can be fun, I did that once. It is surprisingly easy to cut thru A pillars.

Love the humor and doing all that work in a standard garage. I'm restoring a '66 Mustang for my wife in a suburban garage packed with other stuff so I know what it's like.
One thing my Navy machinist father taught me is to pull on wrenches when things are stuck or tight. If something breaks loose you can stop yourself. When you push is when your knuckles go flying into something. In another video I noticed you made a point of cutting open a package away from you. Same principal. Some times you can't help it, but I try to consider where my hands will go if something slips or breaks. Keep up the great work.

Sarah - I like how you know "drops per minute" for fuel leaks. I was a flight engineer on a Douglas Dc-8 years ago and when the old beast sat on the ramp leaking fuel, the AMT's had to stand and time the drops from the wing fuel tanks to see if were able to dispatch or not.

**Tip for anyone with stuck bolts or frozen bearings or seized rings** I like using Used synthetic motor oil (high fuel content from emissions vehicles) that I have in a old school handled oiler. And on the case of lubrication and noise Sarah, use thicker oil in Codsworth or check your valvetrain clearances. It may be nothing, just trying to be preventative.

Your humor is more nuanced, you communicate so effectively through your facial expressions and your speech, your editing sounds like it is going faster for a better work/life balance, your confidence level is way up, the way you fully explain what you are doing and why, the way you vary the video speed so as to be appropriate for each situation, and more that I can't remember.

Our SVT also had the problem of water getting into the plug wells. It's apparently common on all the Zetec 2.0 heads. New plug wires can help, but you still have to be religious keeping water away from the top of the engine. It seems like every drop will get in the valley and leak into the plug wells, causing misfires.

I have one of these I'm working on for 4yrs 🙄, some of why mine was not pulling as it should was down to the variable intake runners so you could check the imrc it controls the intake runner has a habit of been abit sticky. The box that controls it is on the bulk head and has a black cable coming out the bottom If your not bothered about bottom end torque, you can cable tie it open which solves the problem of making sure power is in the mid range and top Not sure if this helps but it helped mine and just sharing the knowledge 🙂 Ford (fixed or repaired daily) well mine is 🤣

Wet plugs is condensation friends, quite common here in uk on short trip cars, that n some1 getting over keen with a pressure washer. Rubber friendly grease round the leads helps the seal lips do their thang n fill the gaps, if there’s room switch to proper flat seal plugs too, the taper seats only help them jam in. Side note look up focus banger racing, you see how strong they really are. 👍🇬🇧👍

Metric has been around forever. It’s universal but the USA is fighting the system . Lol

Don't they literally use 7, 13, 15, and 18? Like opposite of everything Japanese? Plus Torx? ARGH!

Get you a jug of WD40 and cut a soda can in half. Make a lip on the soda can to pour your WD40 like a measuring cup. Works great for pouring into tight spaces. Aerosol doesn't penetrate as well when you need gravity to get the oil down.

Ha-ha! I did the same thing for my project car. I went to the junk yard and cut the roof off of another Mirage. They didn't know how to charge me so they rang it up as a hood lol

Hi. I also have a focus. You need to replace the valve cover gasket. That is how the water got in there, and if you do t it will happen again

Word to the wise - never drive a car with a roll cage without wearing seat belts. If things go awry it'll leave a mark.

I found that Kroil is the best penetrating oil (better than PB blast or WD-40). I squirt stuck fastner with penetrating oil then hit with either a hammer (or impact) no to try to break loose but helps to promote penetrating oil to go further in surface. Heat also works. Let soak and repeat. Then try to remove. Another great penetrating oil is GM heater control valve spray.
